Digging for Gold

The trip continues….

The kids and I were pretty pumped when we floated to Skagway, Alaska.  We even had a plan in place.  Okay, so we really didn't! I got the tickets for this excursion as we got off the ship and we were running to make it. FYI, I rarely have a plan.

We got off the ship and headed to the Gold Mines. Skagway is a tiny little town that you could miss if you blinked. Very tourist town during the summer.  Many of the locals said that they left during the winter because the winter time blues set in with the darkness.  I couldn't imagine.  I found it funny that I didn't meet a lot of locals.  The ones running the Gold Mine excursion were mainly people from all over the United States working there for the summer.  The locals I did meet were amazing and SO kind.

We were scooted off to see a quick movie about the Gold Miners and then toured an area showing us the mining equipment.  The kids were fascinated and asked great questions.  I was quite distracted with the pretty scenery around me.  It was awesome.  I was hoping I would scope a wild animal too.  The only wild animal I found was stuffed inside the store.

Next the kids were panning for gold.  It was so fun watching.

I'm happy to report the kids did great panning for Gold.  Alexis had $25 in gold and Brandon $10.  Really awesome.  They were so excited. We browsed the shops a little more and then headed back to the ship, besides the Kids Zone was calling there name.  They couldn't wait to get back.  I enjoyed my visit with the kids.

I have to share another fun moment of the cruise.  My family has heard me talk about Shelli Gardner for years.  8 to be exact.  I've been a demonstrator for 8 GREAT years this month.  Alexis and Brandon have been excited to meet the boss!  Alexis wanted to compare her to the catalog fronts to make sure that was REALLY her!  Like I would lie? We were lucky one day and caught Shelli in the hospitality room.  I was so lucky to catch Shelli but not lucky because I did not have my camera.  WHAT??? Who does this, really?  Two great demonstrators were equipped and took these photos for me.  They are priceless and once again I am grateful to my demonstrator friends that caught this very special moment for Alexis.

Thank you Ruth Bingle and Linda Heller.  You rocked our world with these great photos.  Alexis told Shelli all about her being a demonstrator NOW and that she puts classes together and she is good.  ROFL.  Oh, I love this girl.  She is a great stamper and please don't tell her she isn't a demonstrator.  It really makes her mad. I just prayed Alexis didn't get black face paint on Shelli's sweater.  I would die.

Last but not least I have another My Digital Studio page.

Another page using Downtown Grunge Digital kit.  I love the sassy picture of Alexis the most. Love how all the colors POP right off the page and then her "sassy" crossed arms and self just make me smile big. This picture was taken in Seattle near the Gum Wall.  I can't wait to share the Seattle photos. Truly my favorite part of the trip and where drama played out!

It's fun to use all my normal stamps and accessories that I already love from Stampin' Up! in digital form.  Who would of known? Are you ready to check out the My Digital Studio software yet? Check out my Online Store for more information and pricing.  You can't beat it.

Tomorrow I will be back sharing a new "Johnny" card made with my favorite pirate set.  It's a good one. I think Alexis has a sinus infection. Off to the Dr. in the morning. My poor girl just feels kinda poopie. Please keep my Prince in your prayers. He appreciates them.

XOXOXO
