Time for another Dazzling Diva Challenge and today we are celebrating Mothers.
With Mother’s Day just around the corner I can’t wait to celebrate WITH my mom this year! It will be a first in a very long time. Usually our celebrating is done over the phone. This year I want to do something special for her. Both her and my Dad have bent over backwards for Russ and I since we moved home. Now I have to figure out a plan. If you have any fun ideas send them my way!!
Today’s challenge with the Dazzling Diva’s is Mothers’s Day or Anything Goes. You can play along and post your creative inspiration HERE. This Challenge was the perfect start for me to create a card for my Mom.
Here is the inspiration we started with:
The colors just POP in this photo and I couldn’t wait to match my Stampin ‘Up! colors with the photo. I chose to use Soft Sky and Strawberry Slush paired with Crumb Cake. I love how these colors looked together.
Once I had all of my colors picked out for this card I matched a piece of metal from Add a Little Dazzle. I used the Baby Blue Metal Sheet with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and Beautifully Baroque Textured Embossing Folder.
I’m in love with how this turned out and how the color of the metal just pop’s on this card.
At the top of the card base I used Whisper White ink with the Beautifully Baroque stamp set. I added a few Paper Doily’s under the Soft Sky cardstock to add more texture to this card.
Tips to Re-Create:
- The leafy stem is from the Peaceful Petals stamp set. I embossed the image on Crumb Cake cardstock using Whisper White ink and White Embossing powder. To make this image stand out a teeny bit more I sprayed the area with Strawberry Slush Marker and Gold Accent Ink. It’s gently tucked under my “Mother” banner.
- The sentiment is stamped onto Strawberry Slush cardstock using Whisper White ink using the Amazing Family stamp set. I love the font in this stamp set.
- The antique brad has a small piece of White Bakers Twine wrapped around the brad and tied in a knot to hang.
- The last detail I added to this card was the Strawberry Slush spray over the top right of the card base.
What stamp set is your favorite for Mother’s day? I noticed my stamp collection for Mother’s Day is small. Make sure to check out the Occasions Mini for more Mother’s Day stamp images. Below you will see the links to the products I used below.
