Creativity Started with Her!

I believe my creativity comes from one of my favorite ladies in the whole wide world, my Mom! I can remember growing up her teaching me how to needle point, cross stitch, sew, and making paper dolls that were hand made and so much more.  She would teach me how to cook and always had the best creative projects when I was a Girl Scout.  In fact just the other day she was making Corn Husk Dolls with Alexis.  I sat and watched and could remember like it was yesterday her teaching me how to make them.  Alexis thought it was the coolest thing. Alexis even has a cross stitching project that she is working on. Being home this month has been great because Mom and I can stamp together.  She is super talented when it comes to stamping she just has no technology skills to share.  I'm trying to change that.  In fact, she is snazzy on Facebook now uploading wonderful pics of me.  JEESH!!

We've had a ball stamping together in her stamping space.  When I came home from convention both Alexis and my Mom were all over the new stamps just waiting for me to mount them and get busy stamping.  Mom and I created a fun card together I want to share.  She loves the vintage style as much as I do.  In fact she has always had the love for antiques.  She has some in her house I would love to take home with me!!!

A few of the products we used was the stamp set Creative Elements 122647, Established Elegance 122532, Well Worn DSP, Antique Brads 117273, Rhinestones, Designer Frames Embossing Folders Set 123130, Victoria Crochet Trim 118481.  You can find all these pretty items in my Online Store.  Tons of amazing NEW things in there.  You have to check it out.

Also, check out the SPECIALS page.  There is a GREAT Starter Kit promotion you don't want to miss.  $99 to start your business or get a discount on the products you love so much.  Plus there is an amazing project you are getting for FREE when you become a demonstrator this month.  This special is only good until the end of the month.  You will love my team and the great ladies that are on it.  Creative, funny and fantastic people! Just telling the truth!

We used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, and Soft Suede for the cardstock colors and we added a little bit of hand stitching to the card using Early Espresso Bakers Twine. A few last details we added to the card was a little shimmer mist (Mom even cleaned my stamps with this! She thought the bottle was Stampin' Mist.  All my stamps have a nice sparkle now!)  We also added a little bit of Gold Smooch Spritz which is SO pretty when you hold the card certain ways. The last detail added was using the Color Spritzer tool.  This was a new tool for Mom to use and I think she likes it because she spritzes EVERYTHING!  We used Early Espresso marker to spritz this card.  I love all the details on the card.

Here is the pretty lady and her Prince- My Dad!

Off to figure out what the rest of the day brings.  I heard there is a pig roast in our future tonight.  As long as I don't have to see the pig turning on the BBQ I will be alright.  Poor pig!

  2. Kimberly – so glad you are spending this quality time with your mom.  Also glad that your daughter has had such a great visit while you were at convention.  Mothers are special people, huh?
I was glad to meet you at convention.  (I was the one who introduced myself to you – my daughter is coming home from Iraq in September!)
