Tropical Paradise
I have to admit that I do live in a tropical paradise already.
For years however, I had to create my own tropical paradise.
For instance… a cold winter day I’ve been known to lotion up with a little suntan lotion to smell that paradise.
Not kidding…. sometimes we have to be really creative, right?
Totally Trees
This year Stampin’ Up! is helping me out in creating a tropical paradise with my stamps.
The new Totally Trees stamp set caught my eye with the palm tree image.
When I started to create this card the Moroccan Designer Series Paper was sitting on my desk from a previous project and the colors in this pattern I chose reminded me of outdoor patio furniture. It was right then the idea was born…
I couldn’t help but fall in love with palm tree. Being from Florida, palm trees are a dime a dozen… and of course pine trees.
To create the perfect green for my palm leaves I dabbed my solid palm image into the Bermuda Bay ink first and then did a light tap into Emerald Envy ink. Once I stamped it over the palm tree I let out a big “WOW!” It was the perfect color.

Creating Your Paradise
The truth is, whether it’s a palm tree or a Santa image we are stamping, we create our own paradise when we craft.
Stamping is paradise for crafters.
- provides peace
- takes us to a calm, happy place
- stress reliever
- brings joy
I look at all of the characteristics above and instantly I think that is paradise. It’s my personal paradise. A place that I can enjoy peace.
Now don’t get me wrong… there are times I can feel frustrated in my personal paradise as well. The times when nothing goes my way when I’m trying to create. However, it’s still paradise. It still brings me joy.
