If it’s one thing I’m not good at, craftiness in the kitchen! While I love to bake, I don’t do it often. Honestly, I feel lately I don’t even cook often. Having teenagers in the house we seem to spend more time on the road than in our home. I’m quite sure our dinner options would make a clean eater go crazy.
Somethings in life you have to embrace. Not cooking is an easy one for me to embrace.
Crafting with The Perfect Mix
While I may not be baking and cooking, I did mix up a fun card using the Perfect Mix stamp set.
I was totally drawn to this card because of the images and fonts. The images have that retro fun appeal.
Tips & Tricks
I wanted the baking images to stand out really and what better way than to emboss.
Each of the baking images was stamped on cardstock, embossed with White Emboss Powder and then fussy cut. Fussy cutting these images is not difficult and only takes a few minutes.
One of my long time favorite stamping techniques is using VersaMark to create a background. Not sure you would even call it a technique, however, the fun watermark the VersaMark leaves on cardstock always amazes me. I created a fun background using the oven mitt image on the Watermelon Wonder cardstock.
VersaMark is a great stamp pad for any new stamper as well. You can create fun backgrounds with this simple ink pad, and of course, it’s the perfect stamp pad to emboss images with.
Layers and More Layers
As always, I love to layer images and that was easily accomplished with this card and the baking images.
The images were layered onto a circle that was die cut using Kraft Cardstock and the Stitched Shapes Framelits. I also added a small circle die cut from Watercolor Paper to add the greeting.
Many More Options
The Perfect Mix stamp set has many more options and I am only showing a few here today. Instantly I can think of fun gift ideas to use this fun stamp set with. A fun scrapbook page would be another fun option.
Here is another card I created using this stamp set.

Update on My Dad!
Thank you so much for your continued prayers for my dad. He was discharged from the hospital on Friday night. I wasn’t really happy about it as there were a few issues that were not resolved, but we put our trust in the professionals. Well, that lasted for not even two days. My dad ended up being re-admitted to the hospital on Sunday night.
Overall he looks better and getting stronger every single day. The big risk for him is a stroke. As of today, he’s headed back home and we are praying his anti-coagulants are back in check. Let’s hope this time for good. Thank you for all of your prayers. I appreciate you so much. XOXOXOXO
