Color of the year, what is your guess?

Pantone chose Radiant Orchid for their color of the year.

The color took me off guard. I should admit that I’m not much of a purple girl but the more I researched this color I fell more in love with it.

Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry our Orchid ink & cardstock anymore but we do have a beautiful line of purple tones.

Today the Dazzling Diva’s have a new challenge. Our focus is on the Radiant Orchid Pantone color.

One of the great things about using these metal sheets is how EASY they are to punch, emboss and use framelits with. Punching these metal sheets was like BUTTER. So smooth.

Since I didn’t have an Orchid ink or cardstock, I was excited to bring out this color using the Metal Sheets.

I used the Itty Bitty Punches that are retiring (GASP) to punch the flowers. I use this punch ALL the time. I’m praying for something similar in the new catalog.

You will notice most of the punched metal flowers are doubled up. I used a mini glue dot to adhere them together and onto my cardstock.

To create this card I stamped the large beautiful flower from Betsy’s Blossom using Whisper White craft ink onto the Crumb Cake cardstock.

I added a 3 x 3 piece of Crumb Cake cardstock with rounded edges and used the small trio flowers in Whisper White Craft ink randomly stamped.

I stamped the bird using Coastal Cabana ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and cut the image out using my snips. I added the Linen Thread under the bird and it resembles a birds nest. SO FUN!

The last thing to add is the greeting. I used the Blessings from Heaven stamp set and created a banner across the Crumb Cake layer using Whisper White Craft ink.

Tip: Whisper White Craft ink is a pigment ink. It takes longer to dry so be careful when using this ink that you do not smear your project. Give it time to dry or use your heat tool to dry faster. This ink is perfect to use embossing powder with too.
