Picture Perfect Rose

Picture Perfect Rose

I did it again! I pulled out my Picture Perfect stamp set and this time worked with the rose image.

Today’s card is sweet and simple and involves a perfect little rose.  It also has a new In Color used- Flirty Flamingo!

Rose, Picture Perfect, Stampin' Up!

I’ve played with this rose image many times with many different color combinations and I have to say this was my favorite.

The only color not listed above is the Flirty Flamingo.

Tips & Tricks

  • The rose image has 3 steps to stamp.  The first image I used Blushing Bride.  Second was Flirty Flamingo, and third Watermelon Wonder.
  • The Vellum leaves were die cut using the retiring Bouquet Bigz L Die Cut.

  • The greeting was stamped and then die cut using the Banners Framelits.
  • The striped designer paper is from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper and then matted on a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock.

Mother’s Day Box & Mini Album

Mother’s Day Box & Mini Album

Mother’s Day is around the corner and this could be the first time I’m ahead of the game in preparation of my sweet Mother’s gift.

Welcome to another Artisan Blog Hop too. Boy, will you be inspired by these talented ladies.

A Packaged Deal

Mother's Day, Gift Box, Stampin' Up!

I’ve known for awhile what I wanted to create for my mom on Mother’s Day.  Since she doesn’t keep up with scrapbooking herself, I love to create little mini albums filled with “short stories” so she can remember little moments in time.   She has these scattered in her home and we all love to look back on these memories.

I started with the box using the Gift Box Punch Board from Stampin’ Up!

What was once a dust bunny collector is becoming a well loved treasure in my stamp room.  Today’s box is my favorite because the size is perfect and it’s universal for SO many small trinkets.  Just happened that it was perfect for a Mini Album too.  WIN!

Mother’s Day Box

Create It!

Today’s video will teach you how to create the box and a few tips and tricks when embellishing the outside of the box.

Mother's Day, Gift Box, Stampin' Up!

Supplies needed to create the box and embellish:

  • 8 x 8 Kraft cardstock
  • Birthday Bouquet Designer Paper 2 x 12
  • Blushing Bride cardstock 1 x 11
  • Watermelon Wonder 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 (Punch 2-1/2″ circle)
  • Typeset Designer Paper 1/4 x 6
  • Kraft Corrugated cardstock 1/4 x 4-1/4
  • Vellum Cardstock (die cut circle using Circles Framelits) I also textured embossed with the Softly Falling TIEF.
  • Basic Black cardstock scrap
  • Shimmer Paper 5 x 5
  • Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzaz, Daffodil Delight, and Mossy Meadow inks
  • Blender Pen
  • Tea Lace Doilies
  • Jute Ribbon
  • Gift Box Punch Board

Supplies needed for the Mini Album:

  • Kraft cardstock 3-1/2 x 10-1/2 (2 pieces needed)
  • Basic Black cardstock 3-3/8 x 3-3/8
  • Whisper White cardstock 3 x 2-1/2

Here is the inside of the box.  The mini album is attached to the bottom of the box with dimensionals.

As I state in the video, I wanted to keep the mini album fun with a bit of humor.  Most of the time when I create mini albums for my mom they are sappy and then she is a mess with tears.  I wanted her to chuckle a bit and a few of these photos/journaling will definitely do that.

The best part about this box is there is still plenty of room to put a bracelet inside that I purchased for her.

Creating the Card

The card was created to coordinate with the belly band of the box.

Here is how to create card:

  1. Fold Whisper White cardstock (4-1/4 x 11) in half.   Attach Birthday Bouquet DSP (3-7/8 x 5-3/8) to a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4 x 5-1/4) using Fast Fuse.  Adhere to card front using dimensionals.
  2. Adhere a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock (1 x 4-1/4) across the DSP using dimensionals.  Adhere Kraft corrugated cardstock (1/4 x 4-1/4) across Blushing Bride cardstock.
  3. Tear a Doily in half.  Layer 1/2 of doily over corrugated cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Using the Circles Framelit (3-1/8″ diameter) die cut a piece of Vellum.  Attach over doily.  Attach the remaining doily over the Vellum using a dimensional.  Using a thread from Jute ribbon, coil and attach over doily.
  4. Punch a 2-1/2″ circle from Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  Layer over doily.
  5. Stamp wreath image using the Circle of Spring stamp set using Archival Basic Black ink onto Shimmery White cardstock.  Die cut using Wonderful Wreath Framelit Dies.  Color wreath using a Blender Pen and the following inks: Watermelon Wonder, Pear Pizzaz, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight.
  6. Create a banner using Typeset DSP (1/4 x 6). Fold Typeset DSP in half and attach to the Wreath.  Using a thread from Jute ribbon, coil and attach to Typeset DSP.
  7. Stamp “Mother’s Day” from the Crazy about You stamp set using Whisper White craft ink.  Emboss with White Embossing Powder and Heat.  Trim “Mother” from greeting.  Adhere over coiled thread using a dimensional.
  8. Splatter Watermelon Wonder ink over image using an Aqua Painter.

Let’s Get the Party Started!

Let’s Get the Party Started!

Who doesn’t love a party?

This is a BIG party.  One that lasts until the END of March!  That’s right, it’s time to Sale-a-Brate!

This time of year for Stampin’ Up! is huge. A beautiful new catalog launches, FREE products with purchase of $50 and the best part is an abundance of inspiration.

I’m feeling a bit giddy over the whole thing.

Flowering Fields

Party, Flowering Fields, Stampin' Up!

There are 3 FREE products wrapped up in this card.  They include, Flowering Fields ( stamp set I used to stamp the flowers),  Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper, and then if you look closely you will see a few Vellum Circles.  The Vellum is from the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack.

Create it

Party, Flowering Fields, Stampin' Up!

To create this card I punched circles in all sizes from 1-1/4 up to 1-3/4 in size.  Then I layered each of the circles across the Whisper White cardstock.

I did a quick stitch across the circles so that they would stay in place.

The greeting is from the Cottage Greetings stamp set embossed with Gold Embossing Powder on Vellum Cardstock.  I idd a quick stitch on the end of the Vellum to keep it intact.  I added two staples on the other end to hold in place.

Mother’s Love- Stampin’ Up!

Mother’s Love- Stampin’ Up!

There is no greater thing than a Mother’s love.  What perfect way to get that point across with a beautiful hand stamped card using the Mother’s Love stamp set.

The greeting font in this set is perfection.  I love the script that is used.  What you do you think?
Mother's Love, Stampin' Up!
You know how much I adore my mom.  Honestly, she deserves MUCH more than I can give especially the much love she has given me over the last year.
She has definitely been a shoulder to cry on several times.  This card will be perfect to tell her how much I love her.

Mother's Love, Stampin' Up! This card uses more of the softer tones (Blush Blossom) and the Artisan Embellishment Kit.  The little dainty roses are a perfect match.

Dazzling Diva Challenge #21- Celebrating Mothers

Time for another Dazzling Diva Challenge and today we are celebrating Mothers.

With Mother’s Day just around the corner I can’t wait to celebrate WITH my mom this year!  It will be a first in a very long time.  Usually our celebrating is done over the phone.  This year I want to do something special for her.  Both her and my Dad have bent over backwards for Russ and I since we moved home.  Now I have to figure out a plan.  If you have any fun ideas send them my way!!

Today’s challenge with the Dazzling Diva’s is Mothers’s Day or Anything Goes.  You can play along and post your creative inspiration HERE. This Challenge was the perfect start for me to create a card for my Mom.

Here is the inspiration we started with:  Celebrating Mother's, Metal on cards, Mother, Stampin' Up!

The colors just POP in this photo and I couldn’t wait to match my Stampin ‘Up! colors with the photo.  I chose to use Soft Sky and Strawberry Slush paired with Crumb Cake.  I love how these colors looked together.

Celebrating Mother's, Metal on cards, Mother, Stampin' Up!

Once I had all of my colors picked out for this card I matched a piece of metal from Add a Little Dazzle.  I used the Baby Blue Metal Sheet with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and Beautifully Baroque Textured Embossing Folder.

I’m in love with how this turned out and how the color of the metal just pop’s on this card.

Celebrating Mother's, Metal on cards, Mother, Stampin' Up!

At the top of the card base I used Whisper White ink with the Beautifully Baroque stamp set. I added a few Paper Doily’s under the Soft Sky cardstock to add more texture to this card.

Celebrating Mother's, Metal on cards, Mother, Stampin' Up!

 Tips to Re-Create:

  • The leafy stem is from the Peaceful Petals stamp set.  I embossed the image on Crumb Cake cardstock using Whisper White ink and White Embossing powder.  To make this image stand out a teeny bit more I sprayed the area with Strawberry Slush Marker and Gold Accent Ink.  It’s gently tucked under my “Mother” banner.

  • The sentiment is stamped onto Strawberry Slush cardstock using Whisper White ink using the Amazing Family stamp set.  I love the font in this stamp set.

  • The antique brad has a small piece of White Bakers Twine wrapped around the brad and tied in a knot to hang.

  • The last detail I added to this card was the Strawberry Slush spray over the top right of the card base.

What stamp set is your favorite for Mother’s day? I noticed my stamp collection for Mother’s Day is small.  Make sure to check out the Occasions Mini for more Mother’s Day stamp images.  Below you will see the links to the products I used below.
