Card Design Flop!

Card Design Flop!

Card design flops happen to the best of us but yesterday I really should have taken the hint when the first card I created was in the trash in 5 minutes flat.

I kept plunging through until I finally came up with something I liked.  It was NOT a quick process.

In fact it went something like this…

Pull stamps out- stare at them.

Walk away.

Go to computer and find something that sparks some kind of creativity in my brain…

Back to stamps. Nothing.

Back to computer.

The only thing that saved me today was having to leave and pick up my kids from school and then taxi them around.

Tonight I was at it again.

This happened:

Card Failure

I tried to save this guy a few times.  It’s still sitting on my desk.  I had to walk away….

While this card was a complete design flop I did create something that I liked.

The Sky is the Limit…

Card Design Flop, The Sky is the Limit, Stampin' Up!

This stamp set is called The Sky is the Limit.  It’s a sneak peek of a set that you can earn free from Sale-a-Bration starting in January.  I fell in love with the plane right away as it reminded me of Russ and his love for flying. With his upcoming retirement the greeting was perfect too.

I started this card off with a circle template that I created using one of my Circles Framelits.  I sponged lightly inside the template using Sahara Sand and Soft Sky to create the circle.

The Sky is the Limit, Stampin' Up!

The bottom half of the card was a few layers of my favorite things- Label Framelit, Burlap and Chevron ribbon. I couldn’t help but add that sweet gold doily too.

Ya’ll, I’m SOOOOO excited about the products coming.  You are going to be blown away with the the awesomeness that Stampin’ Up! has created for the new Occasions catalog.
