Birthday Wishes

October seems to be the month I have so many friends with birthdays.  Now as I’ve mentioned before on my blog that I am the worlds WORST friend in getting birthday wishes on time.  Actually, HORRIFIC!  That goes for my family as well.  Not sure what my deal is?  I know I have plenty of cards around this house, but deep within my body I always seem to think that the card sitting in front of me just isn’t good enough?  What is that about?  Ever have that feelin’?

I’ve been on my toes for a few friends that have been here for classes.   Here is one that was so easy to pull together and I loved the results. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Magnetic Gift Box (116796) and imagine my surprise when I opened the package of the boxes and there were TWO of them per package.  I was so excited.  I didn’t know that about these cute things. These little beauties are so easy to put together.  I just wrapped a pretty piece of ribbon and added a tag.

To make the tag I ran my Kraft cardstock through the Big Shot and used my Two Tags Die Cut (115954)  which is exclusive to Stampin’ Up!  Seriously, a must have die cut.  You can use this die cut anytime of year.  I stamped lightly onto the tag with the En Francais stamp set (109521) and then stamped that beautiful Medallion stamp set (115223)in Tempting Turquoise at the bottom of the tag.  So stinkin’ pretty.  The Birthday Bliss stamp set (115442) was used for the sentiment.  I used my two favorite colors (today that is) Soft Suede and Tempting Turquoise.  Super fun little gift.

Here is another birthday card sitting on my desk waiting to go in the mail.  I just need to look at it one more day and then it will be off to the belated birthday girl.  Thank goodness she knows I love her dearly despite my crazed birthday card madness.

This card uses Kraft cardstock and Blush Blossom.  Kinda yummy together.  The stamp set I used is Everything Nice (113818).  Fun stamp set to play with.

Well, I need to put another layer of clothing on.  I am freezing today.  Looks like tomorrow is not going to be any better.  Again, great days to sit inside and stamp away!

  1. Kim – so pretty! I don’t have that die yet….maybe will have to bend and get it! I love have special you made that gift, and so easy. Thank you for sharing.

I can so relate to the late or never mail card craziness!
You hit me right on the head with the comment you made
about plenty of cards around, but seemingly just not good enough!
(or too good you wanna keep ’em ha!)
Love the little birthday bliss box- your projects are always awesome!
    Thanks for your blogging!

  3. Love the tag you created and the lovely card too. Have the same problem here……….never just the right card, and also think that for family and close friends I have to create a card “just for them”. And those are always the busiest times LOL. Just wondering………..did you pull the stitching a bit on the
grosgrain ribbon to give it that look? Very cool!!!
