Color Inspiration Is Everywhere!
Color inspiration is everywhere but I didn’t realize I’d find it at Hollister!
A couple of weeks ago I was being the cool mom and took Alexis to the mall.
As always, her first stop is Hollister. For me this means a lot of eye rolling.
It also includes a few “Please put that down, it does not cover your hind end!”
Then all of a sudden in the corner of our eyes we spotted something beautiful.
Capturing the Inspiration
I’m so thankful for my iPhone and the ability to take photos on demand.
I snapped a photo of this dress and the rest of the trip I kept thinking of all of the different ways I could use this color combo.
Have you done this? Look at all the beautiful colors!!
Now it was time to put the color to the Stampin’ Up! test.
You will notice right off the bat there is a TON more white than in the picture. I’d like to say I did that on purpose, but it’s how the card came together.
Paisleys & Posies
There was no doubt which stamp set I would grab first to use this color combination with. Instantly I knew Paisleys & Posies would be on the table.
Look at the way all of these colors came together. I would add a touch of gold to the mix which you can see from the Gold Foil die cut I used tucked under the ribbon. SQUEALS…. I loved this.
Tell me, do you interpret the colors differently? I would love to hear.
I almost wonder if the Rich Razzleberry should be Early Espresso instead. Thoughts? Take a peek at the picture again.
Tips & Tricks
- Randomly stamp the paisleys and floral images using each of the colors above onto Whisper White cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5″).
- Layer the 3 cardstock strips Measuring 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (Marina Mist, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry) over stamped Whisper White with each strip overlapping each other slightly at an angle.
- Gold tones were added using Gold Foil and the Gold Bakers Twine from the Bakers Twine Trio Pack.
- Paisleys & Posies stamp set can be purchased as a bundle. Save 10% off price when you purchase the bundle.

I love this Kimberley! Your interpretation is awesome. I would change out the crushed curry for pumpkin pie and I like your thoughts on early espresso instead of rich razzleberry lol!
Fantastic card Kimberly. I agree with Leah, pumpkin and espresso might match better. I try to think outside the box also, but have never put that to the test. Just might have to try that now. Thanks for the inspiration.
