God’s Beauty

Today I worked on a card for a special group of women that are so kind to me.  They are all spanish speaking and I only had a few spanish sets to work with when making the card.  I just wanted to let them know I think they are great women!  Here is the card I came up with!

After seeing a few of Stampin’ Up!’s Co-Founder Shelli Gardner’s cards and all the beautiful layers she throws on her cards, it’s been my new thing the last couple of days.  You know how it is.  You find a technique or tool or even a stamp set that you love and all of a sudden you use it on the next 10 design projects you come up with.  I love looking through my scrapbooks to see my "trends".  There was the chipboard trend, chalk trend, draw my own title trend.  These all make me smile because it really defines me as a paper crafter.  I must admit the products get used during that time frame when I am in the TREND zone.  I loved all the layers this card has and giving it to the special ladies was even more joy.   Luckly it didn’t have to go through the mail or the butterfly would have never made it.

It’s rare that I  air my family life on this little blog of mine, however I need your help.  I need  prayers thrown my direction for my dear Dad.  He goes in for surgery tomorrow to remove a mass in his colon which they suspect is cancer.  I hate that word cancer.  Such an unsettling word.  I have literally just felt helpless being here in Colorado and my family in Florida.  This is when being a military wife quite honestly SUCKS.  Not being there to support either of my parents tomorrow makes my heart ache. Tomorrow  I will be saying lots of prayers that the surgery goes well, there is no other cancer around the mass and that the recovery goes smooth.  My friends, I don’t ask many favors but this I do…  Just say a prayer.  Tomorrow I will keep myself busy as I wait to hear how the surgery goes.  My kids have their last day of school tomorrow and then the evening will be filled with some of my dear stamping friends.  Prayer is good and I know it’s in Gods hands!

Time for me to go to bed.

  1. Kimberly…your family is definitely in my thoughts and prayers! I pray that He guides the surgeon’s hand and provides His healing power. I know how hard it is to be separated from family…thankfully we had the opportunity to move closer to our parents and jumped on it!

  2. My Dear Friend Kimberly,

I am praying for you and your family today for a good outcome from the surgery, God Speed recovery and for strength and wisdom as you deal with what God has layed down in your path.

When I am faced with difficult times and just don’t know what to pray for, I pray that God will give me the strength to get me through whatever challenge He has placed into my life. This has served me well, many times in my life, in the darkest of my days. I pray for strength for you my friend and know that God will hear us all.

Sending lots of cyber hugs your way.

    Love,
    Dawn

  3. I just recently found your blog and am so glad I did! I’m sorry to hear about your dad. Cancer is such a HORRIBLE word and all to often I am hearing it! As we know it is all in the Almighty Hand. Prayer is so powerful and across the miles I will pray for him, the doctors, your family and of course you. God Bless, and please keep us updated!

By the way, your card and all its layers are just gorgeous!!!!!

  4. Hi Kim, I am sorry to hear about your dad. My mom has been through colon and lung cancer within the last few years and she is doing really well. So stay positive, miracles do happen, my mom is definite proof of that. Saying a prayer for your dad!
I love your blog and all of your work!!!
    Take care, Tonya

  5. Kimberly~
I was introduced to your site from a fellow Stampin-up Demonstrator, Kristin Fuller. Every now and then I stop by to see what new ideas you’re sharing. I am writing to you today, because my dad recently went through a very similar surgery. He had a tumor contained strictly in his colon. Actually his surgery was in February and he is now finally gaining his strength back. My dad also lives in Florida, I live in New Jersey, so I do understand how hard it is to be so far away. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. I will pray for wisdom for the doctors, for God’s healing strength for your father, and peace for you and the rest of your family.

    God Bless,
    Dawn K.

  7. You, your dad & all of your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I know just how very hard it is to be so far from family during times like this. (I’m in Ft. Collins and my family is all in South Carolina.)
    Blessings,
    Pam

  8. You’ve got my prayers sister. My Dad had the same thing only he wasn’t lucky, they had to remove his colon but thankfully with Radiation and Chemo, they were able to get all the cancer and as of today, it has not come back.

May God’s beauty and grace bless your family tomorrow as your Dad faces the surgery. I will say prayers of strength for you and your family, and for the wisdom of your Dad’s doctors. Please know that you will not be alone tomorrow; your Sudsol sisters and friends will be keeping you close in heart! Hugs to you, Laura

  13. Kim, I’ve been going thru the same exact thing with my precious daddy. I will lift you and your daddy in prayer! I’ve been praying these verse for my dad…

I am the Lord who heals you! Exodus 15:26 and

By Whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24
