Just being SILLY!

Published by Kimberly under Winter

Today I was on a sewing machine mission!  I have a pretty good sewing machine, but I wanted that Janome Sew Mini for my desk to sew on cards at a minutes notice.  Yes, this is PURE silliness.  Bare with me.  I just didn’t want to pick up that heavy sewing machine every time I felt the urge to sew.  YES Jackie… I really can sew!  :) Only paper of course!  Tonight I played a little with my new sewing machine with a few scraps left over from last nights card.

I know, Kraft cardstock AGAIN!  I wanted to create a soft snowflake card.  I used the stamp set Best Wishes & More and stamped Whisper White Craft ink and Pink Pirouette ink onto the Kraft cardstock.  See my straight sewing lines…(NOT!).  I need a little lesson in sewing straight.  I thought I would take one of the new felt Snowflakes that you can purchase in just DAYS and sew a circle in the center! LOL…It’s not really straight either, but so shabby!  Then I put one of the new pink decorative buttons in the center.  The designer paper underneath the snowflake is Bella Designer Paper.

Here is a close up look of that beautiful snowflake.  These are really a nice size.  I love them.

Have a fabulous day!

It’s been a busy weekend here in my stamp room and you are getting ready to see why!  Today I held my Stamp Camp and they were SUPER busy stamping these circles for their very own decorative plate.  While this was plenty of work, it’s such a great gift you can give to any family or friend this holiday season.  They can keep this for YEARS to come.  I was even thinking of doing round scrapbook pages for my mom with the kids pictures matching the holidays for her decorative plate.  The possibilities are endless on this one.  I hope this gives you some inspiration for your own.  My Decorative Plate class included 13 round discs.  12 for the Holidays and 1 birthday disc.  It included TONS of stamps, designer paper and do dads and this all the products used are Stampin’ Up!

Here they are!

There ya go.  All 13 of them.  I hope you find some inspiration in these decorative plates.

Have a FABULOUS week!

*****Edited to ADD****

Wowser!  You guys need a few more deets on how these things attach.  LOL!

Each round disc is attached to the plate with glue dots on the backside of the disc (round circle thing).  I place a glue dot at the top and then at the bottom.  I found that the glue dot comes off very easy when I want to switch out the disc for the next month.  Now, if there is sticky left on your disc/cardstock you can place these between wax paper after you are done using them.   This way they will pop off the wax paper fairly easy. So, you only need one plate.  I found my plate at World Market. They run about 2.99 per plate. I did use a coluzzle to cut the circles, but my coluzzle is a  LARGE circle. No, Stampin’ Up! doesn’t have this size… (spank my hand) but it worked and they fit perfectly on the plate.  I found this size coluzzle YEARS ago.

I hope this helps!

Family News!

Published by Kimberly under Baby, Cards

Yippie!  I have some great family news!  We are going to add a new addition in May! My cousin just told the family she is pregnant and we are so excited for her.  It will be nice to have another little one to hold.  I am the WORST about sending my family cards and I know I am super behind on a few birthdays.  I am working on those. *wink, wink* I wanted to make my cousin a little "I’m happy for you" baby card so tonight I made this!

I used the Murifield Designer paper.  The base of the card is Naturals Ivory.  I used Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss cardstock which coordinates so well with the Murifield designer paper.  I think I got a little crazy tonight and paper pieced the hippo.  What was I thinking??  Sheesh!  That is not easy, but it does look cute.  The hippo is from the stamp set Bundle of Love.  The sentiment is from Nursery Necessities.

Stay tuned for my Decorative Plate Stamp Camp.  I can’t wait to share with you.  We will be busy stampin’ bees!

Hope your having a fabulous weekend.

I know Summer is over…

Published by Kimberly under Birthday, Cards

Summer Cheers

I just want it to last a little longer.  I love this paper Rainbow Sherbert.  It is so bright and fun!  Not really my colors that I normally use.  I felt like watercoloring so I pulled out my little Cheers to You stamp set and went to work.  :) Once again I pulled out my Kraft cardstock.  I’m in big trouble if they ever retire that stuff.  You will hear a LOUD scream from Colorado! I added a cute bow again.  I just LOVE making these little bows.  I’ve named these the Mary Jo bows.  I always love how Mary Jo Albright does her cutie patootie bows.

Okay, off to work again.  Finishing up my Stamp  Camp for tomorrow.  Can’t wait to show you.  It’s sooooooo exciting.  :)
