Every time I turn around I see either a pineapple or flamingo. They are EVERYWHERE.
I know Pineapples have always been “around” but I think I’m seeing them more and more now since the release of the new Idea Book & Catalog from Stampin’ Up! I feel like I’ve boarded the pineapple express and I’m ready to fill my home with pineapples and flamingos.
Stampin’ Up! is On Board!
It was no surprise that we have a beautiful Pineapple stamp set in our new catalog with the historic meaning the pineapple has- warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality.
Those words- warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality go hand in hand with Stampin’ Up! and creativity.
The question is HOW do we use this pineapple stamp to convey warmth, welcome, friendship and hospitality?
Let’s find out!
Inviting Warmth with the Pineapple Stamp
There is no question if I was to receive any hand stamped card in my mail box it brings warmth to my heart. I know the person behind the creativity of the card took the time to make the card which gives me the warm fuzzy’s knowing they care enough to spend time on ME to make it.
When I was creating my card I’m sharing today, warmth was definitely on my mind. I want the recipient to know how much I care- hence my DOUBLE pineapple and a big thank you greeting to go with it!

Adding a Warm Welcome with Color
The colors are inviting and welcoming. Bermuda Bay, Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon inks compliment each other so well. These fresh colors with a touch of gold to the mix instantly create that welcomed feeling. I can imagine this pineapple being used on treat bags for all occasions such as birthday party’s, family gatherings, and even a wedding. The beautiful thing about stamping is imagination. Our imaginations is the force behind the creativity. While I might have the traditional colors of a pineapple, don’t be surprised if you see me stamping a pink one next. This image is screaming to be stamped with Flirty Flamingo and Cucumber Crush.
Creating Hospitality & Friendships
Hospitality & Friendships- these are the two words that stood out the most to me pertaining to the pineapple. When I think of stamping I instantly think of friendships and the lasting friendships I’ve created during my 13 years with Stampin’ Up! In fact… I’m celebrating 13 years as a demonstrator this month.
Gathering with friends to create is a highlight for me and relaxing. It’s our creativity that binds us together. I can’t think of a better stamping project to be created with a group of friends. Pineapple cards, treat bags, boxes… or even a home decor piece as a Christmas gift for a friend or family. This pineapple is sure to get a ton of stamping mileage throughout the year.
Expand Your Creativity
When I started creating this card I literally let my thoughts of the purpose behind the card guide me. I wanted to create something that was warm & inviting and something that spoke to the hospitality that was given to me. As you know- I love to go over board at times when creating a card but this pineapple image is one that can stand alone. You can stamp it and add a small embellishment and let it be. Now, if I can only learn to DO that.
Tips & Tricks
- The small pineapple comes from the Pop of Paradise stamp set. The green leaves also come from that stamp set. There is a little fussy cutting that needed to be done.
- The greeting is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. If you are looking for a greeting stamp set that covers many occasions, this is the set to pick.
- I die cut the circle and scallop circle from the new Layered Circles Framelits. You will find this collection of framelits has many sizes to choose from and will cover many of your “circle” needs.
- Here are a few measurements for of the Scallops and Circles. Scallops ~ 3-1/16, 2-13/16, 2-9/16, 2-1/2, 2, 1-3/4, 1-1/2, 1-3/16. These measurements are the cutting sizes and not the die sizes.
Circles ~ 2-15/16, 2-11/16, 2-7/16, 2-1/8, 1-7/8, 1-5/8, 1-3/8, 1-1/8. Again, these are the cutting sizes.
- The greeting is punched out using the Classic Label Punch. This is a new punch and excellent for smaller greetings.
