Honeycomb Happiness- Wednesday WOW

Yesterday I shared a fun card using Honeycomb Happiness and the sweetest little chic.

Today, I want to share a fun way to use the ice cream image on two different cards.  Each card is the same design, I’ve just added a few extra layers.

Coordinating Products with Honeycomb Happinesss

Honeycomb Happiness, Stampin' Up!, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Have you ever felt like you are on a scavenger hunt when you are tying to coordinate products together? Stampin’ Up! has always done a fantastic job of doing this for us, but sometimes I like to look for other ways outside of what they have coordinated for me already.

For instance, Honeycomb Happiness is a Sale-a-Bration set that you can receive for FREE with every $50 purchase.  AWESOME!  What makes this set great is that it pairs beautifully with the Birthday Bouquet Suite. From the designer paper and accessories… it can make for some really fun projects.

I decided to use the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Honeycomb Embellishments for my ice cream card.

If you look closely I also added a strip of Burlap Ribbon across the card front underneath the die cut label.  I loved how the texture of the burlap ribbon matched the look of the ice cream cone.

The Honeycomb Embellishments added the perfect touch to the ice cream cone.  While these embellishments are 3D- meaning they can make a card bulky, remember they will still look fun even if they are a little mashed.  They can spring back into place – for the most part.  Otherwise… think of it this way, it’s the PERFECT excuse to HAND deliver as card.

To shimmy this card up a bit I decided to add a few layers of ink, doilies, sequins and cardstock.

Let’s see what I did.

Tips and Tricks

  • Ink splatter was created using an Aqua Painter and ink from my classic ink pad.  Just tap the Aqua Painter and let the ink splatter.  Be careful not to over splatter.  Thats a quick way to make a card go from super cute to “What is this mess?”  Remember this post HERE?
  • A simple piece of Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper added the sparkle.
  • The scallop edge came from the Cutie Pie Thinlits.  Don’t forget the hidden treasures of dies you have.
  • Sequins are budget friendly and perfect addition to a card.  Use the Fine-Tip Glue pen for precision glue every time.
  • You will also see that I added a layer of cardstock on the ice cream image.  I wanted to add a bit more color than what I was getting from ink.
  • I added the burlap ribbon again, this time fraying the edges a bit.

Notice for this card the greeting is tucked under the label instead of over the label.  It’s a a subtle change, what do you think?

There you have it.  Honeycomb Happiness is a delightful set that you can create simple eye pleasing card using very few steps or a few more added steps.  Either way, it’s going to be pretty.

Time for you to weigh in.  This is my FAVORITE part.  I want to hear from you.  Which card do you like better? Which card would you see yourself making.  Leave me a comment letting me know.

Honeycomb Happiness- Quick Tip Tuesday

Welcome to Quick Tip Tuesday with the cutest little chic in town using the stamp set Honeycomb Happiness.

This free Sale-a-Bration set has the most adorable chic included in the images.   It’s the chubbiest little thing and fantastic to watercolor.

Today’s quick tip is a fun way to use ribbon.

Quick Tip Tuesday

Before I get started… BIG news today. I have a NEW Stamps in the Mail.  I’ve made a few changes that I’m excited about.  Click HERE to check it out.

Okay… Ribbon is by far one of my favorite embellishments to add to a project.  I’m always looking for a different spin to adding ribbon to projects instead of the standard bow.

It’s funny to look back through my blog and see the different ways I’ve used ribbon on cards and the cycle of trends I’ve gone through.  Have you noticed this with your own cards?

Today’s quick tip is easy and fun. I’m using one of my favorite ribbons- Seam Binding.

Why Seam Binding?

It’s the most forgiving ribbon I’ve found.  It not only ties a beautiful bow, but it also lays flat after you layer it.

Here is how I love to layer ribbon to give the appearance of a classy banner.

Honeycomb Happiness, Stampin' Up!

The ribbon stays in place with a simple staple in the center.  Notice how flat the ribbon lays down, too?

Now let’s see how this looks on a completed project.

The Honeycomb Happiness stamp set is a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set when you purchase $50 with any order.  This set is perfect if you love to watercolor, and great for a beginner watercolor enthusiast.

Tips & Tricks

  • I started with a piece of Watercolor Paper and stamped the chic using Archival Basic Black ink.
  • Use an Aqua Painter to color the image with our Classic Ink Pads.  I watercolor around the outside edges first starting with  light color then gradually adding darker color as the water absorbs into the Watercolor Paper.  I used Hello Honey Classic Ink to color this chic.  The feet and beak were colored using Tangerine Tango.  It’s a brighter orange and perfect to add a little pop of color to this card.
  • It’s My Party Designer Series Paper has a perfect pattern that mimics chicken feet and perfect to coordinate with this stamp set.

The banner with the greeting was added over the chic image using a dimensional.

While there are hundreds of ways to use ribbon, I hope you will try this quick tip on your next project.  It’s simple enough not too bulky for the postmaster to get grouchy.

What’s Your Flavor?

Do you have a favorite flavor??

Flavor… Do you have a favorite even when the temperatures outside are too cold for ice cream??

I’d have to say YES.  Even when it’s cold outside I can go for a big ole bowl of ice cream in just about any flavor.

What about YOU?

Honeycomb Happiness stamp set is filled with cute images and my I have to say all of the images are lovable.  I had to turn this ONE scoop of ice cream into a triple decker though.

Let’s face it, I have NO willpower right now for a single scoop.  I say bring on the flavors.

The exciting part of creating this card was Russ coming in to help me.  YES! Russ!

He came into my stamp room as I was fussy cutting the “chocolate” scoop and made a terrible face.  He says… “Chocolate? No strawberry? Ice!”

So I put him to work.  I told him he had to find the strawberry ice cream in my sea of cardstock and choose the one he felt was the closest to strawberry.  I think he did a pretty good job and chose Pink Pirouette.  I had to add a little Vanilla to the mix too.

Surprise & Delight

This card has a little surprise and delight with it.  I created a mini card using the Banners Framelits.  By simply cutting a 2 3/4 x 11 piece of Corrugated Cardstock I folded it in half and then only cut the bottom piece to create the banner.  Once die cut I embellished the top.  I love that this card has a fun interactive piece on the front of it.

I stamped a simple Thank You greeting from the Rose Wonder stamp set inside the banner.  I love how this turned out.  Sweet and simple.

You could even fit a gift card on the inside of this banner. Simply use a few glue dots to keep it in place.

So ice cream lovers… what is your favorite flavor? If it’s too cold for you to eat the ice cream remember you can create plenty of paper ice cream cones using the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set.  This is a FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp set and it’s OH SO CUTE.

Oh No! Did You Do This?

Hey friends, before I go I have a quick thing I want to tell you about.

I LOVE when you place orders through my store. I’m always humbled when I see that you have chosen me as your demonstrator.  BUT there is a small problem that makes my heart heavy every time an order comes through as a NO CONTACT.  Many times this is done without you knowing and there is no way for me to know WHO it is.

Why is this frustrating? If you come through my system as a customer who placed an order and it comes through as a No Contact….. that means I see that there is an order placed but I have no clue WHO placed that order.  It’s “top secret!”

This becomes a problem for a few reasons.  If your order qualifies for rewards, I have no way of knowing that you should receive the rewards.  I have no way of being able to send you a thank you card or a gift for choosing me as your demonstrator.  Most importantly, if you have a problem with your order I have no way of knowing making it harder for me to fix the problem.

When placing an order in my Online Store, make sure to check your account information that you have opted for me to contact you.  Please know that I do not send you junk mail.  I only send you information based on the rewards levels that you reach with me.

See this photo below to help assist you when placing an order.

Online Order

If the box is checked “NO” I will never know that you ordered.  I want to make sure that if you order you are receiving my rewards and tutorials that you can get for free when choosing me as your demonstrator. If you have questions, please let me know so I can help you.  YOU are important to me and I am grateful for your business.  I don’t want that to go unseen.  XOXOXO

Know that as a customer of mine you are LOVED.  I truly love serving you and being your demonstrator.  XO
