It’s in the Bag!

Basically all my things are in a bag and they have been over the last three weeks.  I arrived in sunny Jacksonville, Florida yesterday but the sun has barely peeked out.  Instead there is thunder, lightening and so much rain.  I'm not too worried about it today.  Just seeing my team will be a lot of sunshine.

Today we will be enjoying a few make n takes and I wanted to share one with you today.

Hopefully you have a package of the new Chevron Bags that are in the new catalog.  WOW are these fun to create with and so many great ideas come to mind.

Below I just folded this little bag in half and sealed the outer edges. Now you have two pockets that you can use to place a gift card, 3 x 3 cards or even tuck a few dollars inside to surprise someone.

I'm in love with the Beautifully Baroque stamp set and all the possibilities that will come with it.  I simply stamped the image on Whisper White cardstock and then used one of our NEW Deco Labels Collection framelets (a Karen Burniston collection) and covered the entire Label with the Beautifully Baroque image.

I used the new Smoky Slate ink and I love how this pairs with our new In Color, Coastal Cabana.

I’ve Got a Case of the Crazies!

It's been a long time since I've missed a day of posting here.  Over the last 5 days we took a trip to Pensacola to find the perfect house.  By far this is the most exhausting house hunting trip we've made.  That says a lot since we've made quite a few.  The choices were minimal and for a girl that was looking for the perfect stamp room it just wasn't happening.

Needless to say we would come home from hours of looking and I was emotionally spent.  On the last day we decided to put an offer on a house that we think has a lot of potential but will need a lot of TLC in the beginning.

In some ways this is a good thing because we can make the home our own. The flip side of that is I'm incredibly impatient.  I want it all done NOW.  Poor Russ.

Getting home was a crazy mess.  The weather was terrible and our flights were delayed.  We finally rolled up to the house at 2am.  I was so frustrated as I wanted to see my kids.  The next morning Russ and I put on our super hero capes at the crack of dawn and proceeded to clean the house at lightening speed to show our current house.

As I sit and write this morning my house smells clean as a whistle and my stamps are crying from lack of use.  I have a ton of work that I need to catch up on a few fun things I'm working on behind the scenes.  *wink*

Moving forward I keep telling myself that nothing comes easy but in the end we will look back on this crazy time and say it was totally worth it.  I am so excited about this move I just wish I could twinkle my nose and it would all be complete.

Today, I finally made it into my stamp room.  What a huge stress reliever.  Much needed I must say.

Now that we have the Note Card Envelopes (#131528) in Crumb Cake I decided to cut my own Note Card size cards in Crumb Cake to fit them.  LOVE these and you know I love Crumb Cake.

Live in the Now -Learning From Kids

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin' Up!

Ahh… my kids!  They sure know how to make my day.

Last Friday when I was having my Cray-Cray moment of feeling annoyed I think my kids were catching on.  How do I know this? They were doing everything I asked lightening fast.  I'm not sure if it was the face I was making or just the vibe I was giving off, my kids knew it.

Brandon decided to bravely pop into my office that night and started telling me jokes that were silly and then he says, "Mom, let's do what you LoVe to do!"  I said to him, "What do you mean?"  His reply, "Get your camera and take pictures of me.  It always makes you smile!"

Boy was he right.  Not only was it making me smile, he had me laughing in tears with his crazy antics.  He knew something was wrong and in that one little moment, my annoyance was gone.  Really living in the N-O-W. So many times I let that slip away.  Not good.  That little moment was so good for my soul.  Of course Brandon trying to act like he was Justin Beiber was pretty funny too.

You know me… I had to catch the story and tell about it using My Digital Studio.

I still have to make the other half of the layout to include these fun pictures….

Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' UP!

Yes, I love this crazy kid. I learned something from him!

Let's talk about the layout above.  It has a little trick to it and one of my GENIUS team mates, Tami Hewlett was the mastermind behind it.  I love her digital art.

I loved how she cropped and colored the stamp brush from the Be Awesome Today kit and wanted to re-create it.  You can a quick video below on how to re-create yourself.  It's so fun and this kit is so perfect.

The title describes Brandon spot on!

Feeling Coastal?

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin' Up!

With the news of us moving to the Gulf Coast, you can bet the new In Color Coastal Cabana and I are going to be tight this year.  First, do you love the name? I guess it could of been a smidge better if they named it Cabana Boy!

This color is everywhere I turn.  It's SO Summer, yet SO vintage in it's own way too.  I guess you could say it's very well rounded in the style department. This is good.  I call this a "MUST HAVE" color.  In just a few days, it could be sitting on your ink shelf!

One of the colors I've enjoyed pairing it with is Soft Suede.  For this card I used two new Designer papers: Soho Subway and the Designer Series Paper Stack for the In Colors.  Both I love. Both have beautiful designs and both are going to be well LOVED in my stamp room.

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin' Up!

This card is SUPER simple with just a few little elements added.  It's my new thing.  Small, tiny elements around the focal point.  I just love adding random rhinestones around an element too.  A trend I'm noticing is sequins.  I don't have any of those on hand so instead I am using Rhinestones in their place.  Who doesn't love a little bling bling?

Another tiny element that I'm in loving are the new Designer buttons.  What is so fun about these are the teensy weensy ones in the pack.  They are simply PERFECT.  I have a pack of brights that I was graciously given while in Fiji.  It's a perfect gift for Kimberly… BUTTONS!

You can see all the supplies to make this card below.

Make sure to check out the retired list to see if there are any items that you cannot live without. The current catalog is good until June 3rd.
