Four Halloween Products- Which Are Your Favorites?

Halloween Favorites

Halloween is around the corner and I’m sharing my favorites today!

From years past if you look around this time of year on my blog you will see Halloween gets a heavy dose of love.

Halloween has always been a favorite holiday for me to create.

Why Halloween?

Of course when I tell people that Halloween is one of my favorites some people look at me like I’m crazy.

Why in the world?

Halloween is perfectly inline with my beliefs about creativity.  I love watching little ones creatively use their minds to dress up and  use their imagination. That’s it.  Nothing spooky about it… just pure CREATIVITY.

It’s exactly what I do when I create with paper.  I get to dress the card up and use my imagination.

Halloween images are cute, even though they have the spooky tendency.  Personally I do not see anything FOR REALZ spooky in a Halloween stamp.

Truthfully, they are spooky adorable.    The spooky tree is not going to give me any nightmares and though I’m not a fan of any bat, the bat images are SO adorable.

Four Favorite Halloween Products

Below are four of my favorite Halloween products this year.

You will notice that one is not considered a Halloween product.  It’s an everyday (all kinds of uses) product, however its PERFECT for Halloween.

Halloween Favorites, Stampin' Up!

I’ve placed all of my favorites on this one Halloween card to show you how quick and easy you can create a fun Halloween scene.

In general, these are my four favorite Halloween products today…. tomorrow is a different story.

  • Halloween Scares stamp set
  • Spooky Fun Photopolymer stamp set
  • Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies
  • Lots of Labels Framelits Dies

Halloween Favorites, Stampin' Up!

The Halloween Scares stamp set let’s you create a fun halloween scene.  When paired with the Spooky Fun stamp set, you not only have fun Halloween images, but now you can use the Halloween greetings.

The Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies create a fun addition to your Halloween card and the not so spooky tree is one of my favorite.s

Halloween Favorites, Stampin' Up!

The true favorite and most widely used of the Halloween favorite bunch is not even a Halloween related product.

The Lots of Labels Framelits Dies creates the perfect tombstone.  You could make your own graveyard with all the different sizes available.

I loved how I could die cut the smallest framelit to create a tiny tombstone for this card.

Halloween Favorites, Stampin' Up!

Another favorite about the Spooky Fun Halloween stamp set is the fonts used.  I love how slender they are.  Making it easy to add the greeting to a banner.

Let’s not forget the cutest one of all… “eek!” That little greeting cracks me up!!

Quick Tips:

  • The splatter was created using an Aqua Painter and Perfect Plum Ink.  Simply load the Aqua Painter with ink, tap over images using bone folder.
  • The moon was stamped and then gently sponged over the image using a sponge dauber and Delightful Dijon ink.
  • Attach the tree die cut image using Mini Glue Dots.

Which are Your Favorites?

I realize this holiday (if we can even call it that) is not a fan favorite for all, but I hope I could give you a little inspiration on a few favorites of my own and why this spooky celebration ignites my imagination and creativity.

What are your favorite Halloween images? Do you have a favorite product this year? OR… do you think I’ve fallen off the pumpkin truck?

Regardless, I would love to hear from you.

Cheer All Year

Sounds like I’m over here doing a cheerleading skit.  Oh how fun that would be… or maybe not.

Did you know I was a cheerleader back in the day?  Can you see me with ginormous hair and blue eye shadow? I’m pretty sure that was the look at that time.  I was the “Mall Bunny” hair girl and I thought I was HOT.  Looking back… not so much.  Oh the memories.

So cheerleading has nothing to do with my post and you are probably thinking, Thank You!  HA HA HA HA

Instead I’m talking about the Cheer All Year stamp set.

This is the set I chose to create my swap card for Founders circle.  You might remember my picture I posted with the 110 bats I needed to cut out.  I’m notorious for choosing a stamp set that has NO matching framelit because I think it’s cute.  The thing was, it was seriously cute and I loved the bat in the set.  Then around bat #50 I was re-thinking my swap.  I was cutting bats everywhere- in the car, Starbucks, meetings… if I was sitting I was cutting.

The great thing was I had most of the card designed. I only needed more bats.

Cheer All Year, Stampin' Up!

You can see that the bat is pretty clean to cut around so really it wasn’t too fussy to cut. Isn’t it the cutest thing?

It All Coordinates!

As I was designing this card I loved how everything coordinated.  I used the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper, the Happy Haunting Washi Tape (which goes a long way!) and then the Black Glimmer Paper.  How fun is the bat paper to match the bat stamp?? I loved it.

Overall this is a clean and simple card. I attached a small banner using the Washi Label punch at the top. It’s kept in place using a staple.

Love Is In The Air!

Around my neck of the woods love is in the air and weddings are happening.

We are excited in our family that my cousin is about to get married to his beautiful bride.  They are young in love and I’m pretty sure most of us tried to talk them out of getting hitched… but they weren’t hearing any of it.  It’s happening.

Russ and I probably were not the best to talk with them since we knew each other a whopping 4 months before we landed in front of the Justice of the Peace to exchange our vows.  Something in our souls I guess… we knew we were soul mates.  Of course everyone thought for sure a baby was on the way.  HA. Not for another 5 years did we bring a wee one into the picture.  Kinda funny.  Really put a stop to all rumors quickly.  We like to keep people thinking.

Today we celebrated the bride to be with a fun bridal shower.  Of course I had the gift all ready and wrapped and about 2 hours prior to leaving I thought about the card.  Me, the card maker did NOT have a card for a wedding or bride.  I was still in my Pj’s, hair a disaster… I needed something QUICK.

Here is what I came up with using an old vintage music sheet.  It was perfect for this couple because they have a love of music.

Big News stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Kimberly Van Diepen

Tips & Tricks

A simple circle framelit to cut the music sheet started this card.  Then I added the torn doily over it.  I used a set that is one of my fav’s because it has so many occasions in it: Big News! This set is on page 100 of the catalog and it covers birthdays, weddings, Thank you’s, Congrats, and BABY. That’s not all… it covers awesomeness.  Umm hello… that’s the best ever!  Telling someone they are awesomeness is perfect.  You can find this set HERE.  It’s really a great one.

I’m using the NEW Archival Black Ink and I’m loving how CRISP it stamps.  You can see above I used it to stamp “Happily Ever After.”  It’s the BLACK you NEED.  Grab it HERE.

Lastly, I placed a few metallic sequins around and did a little gold splatter.  It was a perfect ending to my happily ever after card.  What do you think?

Here is the mess I’m in right now….

Cheer All Year stamp set, Stampin' Up!, Kimberly Van Diepen

Yes, I’m currently cutting 110 of the cutest bats you have ever seen.  Why did I have to choose something I had to cut??? UGH.  I’m working on my Founders Circle Swaps so they are going to a great place.  EEP.  I’m pretty excited about them and promise to share in a few days.  Meanwhile… I’m still cutting.  I have about 40 to go and I leave on Wednesday.  OH MY WORD…
