3D Box and Christmas Tags

3D Box and Christmas Tags

I’ve been so excited to share this little 3D Box and Christmas Tags with you. They have been sitting on my desk waiting patiently for me to shoot the video so you could create this right along with me.

This box could be used for many things but today I want to share how I created it to hold Tags.

3D Box of Tags, Festival of Trees, Stampin' Up!

When I was rummaging through my stamp cabinet I noticed I had not used the stamp set Festival of Trees once this Christmas Season.  This set was perfect for this project. This is also a bundle which means you can get a great price for the stamp set and the coordinating punch. Just click on the pictures and you can see it directly.

I used the Festival of Trees throughout the entire project and added a few embellishments.  You can see all the products  I used in the clickable links below.

Create It!

How about  you create along with me? See how quick and simple this 3D box is to create and I know you can come up with a ton of other uses for this box.

As I stated in the video I wanted to show you all of the tags so you can re-create these as well.  This would make a great gift for a teacher or friend.

Tips & Tricks

Because these tags are a bit bulky they did not all fit in my box.  Because of the added embellishments I maxed out at 3 tags in the box.

The Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon is a brand new ribbon coming out January 5th.  It’s a beautiful ribbon and easy to work with when making bows.

Here are each of the tags below:

It’s your turn.  I hope you enjoy the 3D box and the tags created for it.  I can’t wait to hear what you create.  Make sure to tell me.  I love when you share your creativity with me.

Vintage Christmas Tree

Isn’t it the BEST when you can use your crafting supplies to create a fun home decor piece?

Through the years and especially around the holidays I have bins of things I’ve created that are kept preserved and ready to take out for each of the holidays.  It’s like Christmas when I open these boxes.  It also brings back hundreds of memories from days past sitting with my friends and creating them. Hands down the BEST.

I guess it’s like your children and the art work they create. I have piles and piles I’ve saved with the hopes to organize them when I’m 80.

One of my favorite bins has always been filled with my Halloween projects.  I love seeing the paper that was trendy at the time and of course the projects too.  I also love when friends come over and I can talk about each of the pieces.

Here is a look at some of my Halloween decor displayed.

Halloween Decorations, Halloween, Stampin' Up!

Kinda spooky, huh?

This year I’ve been trying to add to the collection and working on a few Christmas pieces.

One of my favorites so far is a Vintage Christmas Tree.

This project is pretty fun using the Cutie Pie Framelits.

No Tricks, Just Treats…

Actually, I have a lot of tricks and no treats but you will understand in a few.  I do have a few cute Halloween tricks up my sleeve today.

We are back from a whirlwind weekend getaway.  It was a quickly planned trip up to Huntsville, Alabama to see my brother in law and his wife.  They have lived in Germany the last 6 years and now have moved back to the states.

The last time I had seen my brother in law was when Russ had his stroke so it was a well overdue trip and I’m so glad we made the trip.

Honestly, I didn’t want to leave.  Truth be told I acted like a 2 year old before we left because I am never prepared and always have a full plate of things that need to be done or in most cases are over due.  Taking off for a weekend means a lot of planning on my part and the rest of the family gets to jump in the car for a good time.

Can anyone relate to this? Why is it that mom’s are totally overwhelmed with getting a mini vacay planned?

For instance, I had to board our 2 dogs.  That was almost a casualty on my part getting the dogs to the kennel.  My dogs are not small and I looked like a complete lunatic coming into the kennel with them.  I was feeling terrible about leaving them before I brought them. By the time we got there I couldn’t wait to get out because the dogs were literally dragging me in.  Imagine me, alone with 2 dogs, their bed and toys and running through the kennel.  Oh dear Lord I know I looked ridiculous.  Thank heavens a kind lady asked if she could help with the dogs and I just threw a leash at her.

Of course we have a zoo at our home so then I had to plan with the pet sitter to come and get the down and dirty on the rest of the animals.

I had the kids pack themselves which ended up being a problem about 4 hours into the drive.  Just a causal question to Brandon if he had packed his toothbrush…  Nope.  Nor did he pack his comb, deodorant or anything remotely to groom himself with.  Oh heaven help me.

Then there is the control freak issue I have over having a clean house before we leave.   Like the pet sitter was going to care at all about my house.  UGH.  Actually, the only thing the pet sitter was worried about was the fish that decided to jump out of the tank and died a slow death.  What was this fish thinking??

I wish I could say that was the only casualty of the trip.  We pulled into the driveway and started to unload the car.  Brandon decided it was a bit too much work to put his laptop into the laptop bag and placed it in the back trunk area.  When the trunk opened the laptop fell out.  Luckily for him it still appears to be working although the glass screen is shattered.

Now, did we have a good time? Absolutely!  Is all this “stuff” important? Not really.  I wish the laptop had  not fallen, but in the grand scheme of things it’s okay.  Everyone had underwear, my sister in law had a spare toothbrush and we had a blast with them.  Everything I tried to make perfect before I left wasn’t perfect and we survived.

So there are no tricks to running away on a mini vacay except just GO.  Don’t worry about the small stuff and enjoy. I’m taking my own advice next time.

I do have a few sweet treats I want to share that are perfect for Halloween and perfect for anyone that does not have a lot of time.

Halloween Treats, Stampin' Up!

Halloween Treats, Stampin' Up!

A quick and simple Glassine Bag is perfect to glam up and decorate for halloween.  LOVE these bags.

Halloween Treats, Stampin' Up!

I’m also in love with the Square Pillow die cut.  You can create the cutest little treats with this die cut.  This was another simple treat box because I just needed the Designer Paper and a few embellishments to complete it.

Halloween Treats, Stampin' Up!

If you are going to mass produce Halloween treats, the fun little bags are perfect for a quick and simple project.

The Square Pillow Box die cut is awesome.  With just a few added embellishments you are on your way to something very cute and easy to reproduce.

What Halloween project are YOU working on??

Make today a GREAT day.

TGIF #22- Gift Giving Made Easy

TGIF, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

It’s not even funny how LAZY I am when it comes to gift giving.  I’ve even succumbed to having my daughter take on the task of picking it out, wrapping and then my job is the card.

I’m not sure why this is so difficult for me except when you are the “master of procrastination” my mojo leaves and I flounder for an idea on what to make.  If you are reading this you probably are with me on the fact we love to make the pretty stuff…. BUT… it’s coming up with the idea of the “pretty!”  Right?

I might have a solution for all of us and it’s two fold.

First if you are not taking part of papercrafting challenges I highly suggest you do.  It only stretches your creativity to the max capacity and sometimes makes you step outside of your comfort zone.  Whether it be style, colors, project type, you will see a difference in growth with your papercrafting when you participate.  Being a designer for TGIF gives me the opportunity to step outside of my comfort zone and most definitely stretches my creativity.

TGIF 22 Remix

This weeks challenge is a Remix of all the challenges this month.  I lurrrrvvve this challenge.  This is when my brain gets some great exercise.  Below are the three previous challenges for the month. Take a few of them or all three and come up with a project.

TGIF September Challenges

Now for my gift giving solutions…

TGIFC, Watercolor Wings stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I though I knew the catalog like the back of my hand… NOPE.  I need to sit and go through the catalog myself with a fine tooth comb.  I thought for SURE the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes were long gone, retired.  Ha ha ha.  Oh no….they are quite available.  <seriously I need my head examined!>

This is the perfect solution for quick and simple gift giving AND you could look like the master crafter when giving the gift.  Little will they know it only took about 15 minutes to make it.  The boxes are FOOD safe and only $7 for 8 of them.  STEAL of a deal.  My most favorite part is the window sheet around the box so they can take a peek of the gift inside.  Unless you are me and hide it way at the bottom and put enough fluff they will think nothing is in it.

TGIFC, Watercolor Wings stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

The decorating part is fast, fun and simple.

I used our Envelope paper found on page 149.  I used the In Color Envelope paper and one of them is the Mint Macaron.  Take a 3 x 12″piece and wrap around the box.  Pinch the edges to make a better “scored” edge all the way around.  Next I cut a 2 1/2 x 12″ piece of the Typset DSP.  Using my Fringe Scissors (on SALE until Monday night 11:59pm) and fringed one end.  Gently wrap around the box, pinching edges like the previous and adhere to the box.

I wrapped a piece of Strawberry Slush Dotted Lace ribbon and tied it in a knot.  I secured a small Tea Lace Doily inside just for added fluff.

Lastly, the tag.  I used the most popular stamp set in the entire catalog- Watercolor Wings.  Did you know it’s the most popular? I found out that tidbit at Founders.  Pretty fun.  Once I had the butterfly stamped I die cut the image using the Tags & Labels Framelits.  I attached this by bringing the ribbon ends straight through the hole on the tag and tied a knot.  Simple and easy.

Now I have a fun gift for a birthday -or- any occasion.

The Card!

The gift needed a card to go with it so I made it match and again, kept it simple.

Same design basically with a few extra add-ons.

Now it’s your turn.  Take on a few challenges with me today.  Make a gift that can be ready to go at a moments notice and play along in a challenge.  You can check out the TGIF challenge HERE.  See what the other designers created and leave a comment if you are a big ole procrastinator like me when it comes to gift giving.

Mix & Match Your Stampin’ Up! Products!

Happy Friday!  I've been looking forward to it ALL week.  Not that I have any big crazy weekend plans except for the date I have with my BED!  This mama is lacking in the sleep department lately.

Today's project will show you how to combine MANY Stampin' Up! products to make one project.

I love taking my Stampin' Up! products and mixing and matching products together.  Stampin' Up! stands out in the "coordinating" department of crafting companies. They always make it so easy for us.   Now it's our turn to put the products on the table and pull them together to create that fantabulous project.

I'm not sure this project reaches the "fantabulous" level but I will tell you it made me smile.  It's a fun Gift Card holder or can be used as a pull card with a surprise greeting inside.  No surprise this blonde loves a surprise.  <grin>

Did you think I was finished using the Pop Up Posies Kit? Ahhhhh… no way!  I still see many more ideas with this gem of a kit.

The question is… do you have a Pop Up Posie Kit
