TGIF #24- Sketch Challenge

TGIF, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

TGIF #24, Stampin' Up!, Sketch

TGIF! Oh my word I am so glad it’s Friday.  Seriously! It’s been a whirlwind week.  One that makes me want to sit back and ask, WHAT happened? My office is in shambles-still.  Stuff piled everywhere as I run from project to project between kids, Russ and Church.

When I started to create for this week’s sketch challenge I had a pile of “fun” or what I like to call other names on my desk.  Things that “didn’t make the cut” from another project.  Most of the time I put these little things in a bin near my desk.  I like to pull things from there now and then.

I decided to pull all the “fun” on my desk and make something with it.  I figured I had the sketch for inspiration and now I just needed to coordinate the goods with the sketch.  It worked although I did waiver a bit from the sketch challenge.  Well, the bottom is not centered… you will see. <eek>

I started with the strips of Home for Christmas DSP and the the circle I had die cut using the same DSP with the music notes.  I took a piece of scrap Vellum cardstock and laid it over the music sheet DSP. Then I layered the DSP strips over that. I did a bit of sewing across the layers of DSP to keep them in place.   Once all them were layered together I die cut them together using my Circles Collection Framelits.

I then layered this onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I also die cut from my Circles Collection Framelits.  I swear I cannot live without my circle die cuts.  For sure.

The last little piece of this card was adding the Gold Glitter ribbon which is actually applied to the card the opposite side.  So no glitter seen, just the matte finish of that ribbon which I also loved.  I also added a pretty button from the Home for Christmas line and adhered this to the cardfront.

Trying to keep to the sketch as much as I could I decided to add little stitching to the bottom of the card and then the sentiment.

See what the other TGIF designers have created and be inspired.  We hope you play along.

Have a FANTABULOUS weekend.  I’ll be a bit off the grid as I spend time with the family.  Much needed opportunity.
