Cheer All Year-TGIF Challenge

Cheer All Year-TGIF Challenge

TGIF, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

Today is one of my favorite types of challenges- COLOR.

Today’s color challenge feels all crisp and fall like.  Something I still haven’t felt here in Florida.  In fact right now I am running around in my favorite active wear capris and flip flops.  Yes, I am one of those freaks who loves to wear her active wear for the sake of comfort and nothing for actually working out in.  It’s the truth.

If I can’t get the crisp cool air yet that Fall typically brings, I can create like I’m feeling the crispy air.

The Cheer All Year stamp set helped me out a bit too.

I am using a product today that I haven’t touched since it came out in June.  I know, I can’t believe it either because it’s the coolest stuff ever.  The Crushed Curry polka dot background comes from the Color Me Irresistible Specialty DSP.  Oh so fun.  With the help of a sponge and Crushed Curry ink I changed the paper from blah to WOW because the paper resists the raised embossed areas. That simple.  Great way to take a white background and make it any color you wish with our amazing color line with Stampin’ Up!

Quick Tips-

I decided to layer the ribbon and then add the feathers which were stamped onto their matching cardstock.  I love how this looks and need to remember to do it more. I am quick to grab Whisper White cardstock and just stamp away, forgetting that when you stamp an ink onto it’s matching cardstock it looks fantastic.

Like I said yesterday, a great way to layer the ribbon is using the Multipurpose Tombow Glue.

TGIF #24- Sketch Challenge

TGIF, Challenges, Stampin' Up!

TGIF #24, Stampin' Up!, Sketch

TGIF! Oh my word I am so glad it’s Friday.  Seriously! It’s been a whirlwind week.  One that makes me want to sit back and ask, WHAT happened? My office is in shambles-still.  Stuff piled everywhere as I run from project to project between kids, Russ and Church.

When I started to create for this week’s sketch challenge I had a pile of “fun” or what I like to call other names on my desk.  Things that “didn’t make the cut” from another project.  Most of the time I put these little things in a bin near my desk.  I like to pull things from there now and then.

I decided to pull all the “fun” on my desk and make something with it.  I figured I had the sketch for inspiration and now I just needed to coordinate the goods with the sketch.  It worked although I did waiver a bit from the sketch challenge.  Well, the bottom is not centered… you will see. <eek>

TGIF #24, Stampin' Up!, Sketch

I started with the strips of Home for Christmas DSP and the the circle I had die cut using the same DSP with the music notes.  I took a piece of scrap Vellum cardstock and laid it over the music sheet DSP. Then I layered the DSP strips over that. I did a bit of sewing across the layers of DSP to keep them in place.   Once all them were layered together I die cut them together using my Circles Collection Framelits.

I then layered this onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I also die cut from my Circles Collection Framelits.  I swear I cannot live without my circle die cuts.  For sure.

The last little piece of this card was adding the Gold Glitter ribbon which is actually applied to the card the opposite side.  So no glitter seen, just the matte finish of that ribbon which I also loved.  I also added a pretty button from the Home for Christmas line and adhered this to the cardfront.

Trying to keep to the sketch as much as I could I decided to add little stitching to the bottom of the card and then the sentiment.

See what the other TGIF designers have created and be inspired.  We hope you play along.

Have a FANTABULOUS weekend.  I’ll be a bit off the grid as I spend time with the family.  Much needed opportunity.

I added a few gold flecks of glitter to make it sparkle because who doesn’t love a birthday with a bit of sparkle??

The Gold Thread just made it even more sparkly.  I’m loving the Blackberry Bliss as a Fall color choice.  Oh Yummy!

TGIF- Sketch Challenge!

Oh my word!  Who doesn’t love a fun sketch challenge? I almost feel like the work is already cut out for me.  I just need to find the pieces to the puzzle in my stamp room and create away.
I’ll be honest… the mojo has not been around in a bit so finding those puzzle pieces was actually a BIG challenge.  I am grateful to be on this design team, however.  Great designers and this is getting me back into my stamp room slowly but surely.  That’s a GRAND thing.

Let’s get busy… You are sure to LOVE this sketch.  I hope you will play along as well.  We had AMAZING entries for the last challenge.  Click HERE to come and PLAY!!

This is a SUPER fun sketch!  I might have added another layer too many, shhhh… don’t tell.  <smile>

Lovely Amazing stamp set, TGIF02, Challenges
I
‘m trying to get through some of my fave stamp sets before they go away. Lovely Romance is a stamp set I’ve had for awhile and sadly have not used much.  It’s always funny when I pull something out and give it a little ink and start using it… then I fall in love with it all over again.  Do you find this to be true?

In the pic below you can see I covered up a little bit of the greeting on the label.  The Pistachio Pudding cardstock was stamped with the three decorative flowers across.  Tone on tone… easy peasy.

Now it’s your turn to play along and see what the other design team members created.  You will not be disappointed.
