Are you ready for Valentines or like me still searching for the perfect idea? I'm on a BIG Valentine hunt trying to find the latest and greatest Valentine to knock the socks off the Prince. I'm coming up pretty dry but do have a few fun ideas I may give more thought too. Seriously, he ALWAYS blows me away. This time I want to surprise him.
About 1145pm last night I had this GRAND idea as I looked over my shoulder and could see a big pile of packing paper I unloaded from my latest Stampin' Up! treasure box. This crazy time of night is when the BEST ideas in my pea brain fire off. I don't know why, but it's always been this way. There is one more time- in the shower. Nothing makes me more mad than having a GREAT idea in the shower because no sooner do I get out the idea is GONE! Please tell me this happens to you too?
I pulled out my Heart Collection Framelits and used that ginormous heart with scallops. Well, it's not that ginormous but it sure is pretty. It's perfect for a project like this.
Once I had my Heart Die Cut, I took my little sewing machine and sewed the hearts together. This is when I realized I did such a fantastic job of sewing that I didn't leave an opening to stuff something inside. True blonde moment. No biggie. I can still write something special on the back.
I decided to cut another heart using Basic Black cardstock. It fits just right centered between my sewing. Using Whisper White craft ink I stamped the fun swirly image from Great Sport in the center and heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder to create that "Chalkboard" look I am so addicted to right now. It's so easy and fun.

Very nice Valentine idea! I love using the paper from the SU boxes for projects – I have done a lot of that. And yes my best ideas come late at night or in the shower! And even while I sleep they pop up in my dreams and those are the ones I can't always remember long enough to write them down – ugh.
It is wonderful and he should love it!!! My sort of best thoughts happen more when I'm in rem sleep….and tooo tired to not get out of bed…but other times it is when I am not close to home or my stampin stuff – figures! TFS!

Great Valentines. I love your work. I also have those "aha" moments when in the shower. I leave a notepad and pen in my bathroom so I can jot things down when I get out of the shower..

I love this Valentine idea using the packing paper! How clever! I don't think you should beat yourself up over sewing the entire heart closed. I do that all the time when I sew fabric heart pillows…it makes for a much smoother line for the heart shape. The trick is this…..after you sew both shapes together, just cut a slit in the top shape big enough to add a bit of stuffing. Then just add your stamped or die-cut heart right over top of that layer to cover the opening! I hope this tip makes sense! Thanks for sharing all your wonderful ideas with us!

So pretty!!! Thanks for sharing 🙂 As for the ideas in the shower–put a dry erase pen on your counter, and write your idea on the mirror so you don't forget. That way you don't have to worry about paper getting wet.
Oh, I love what you're doing with the Kraft papers! That background stamp is so gorgeous against the black CS, and the overall vintage look is gorgeous. And are those player piano rolls behind your project? We have them too 🙂 Fun!
