Celebrating 3 years!

Three years ago I started my blog.  It was started to keep me sane during our last move and to keep all my dear customers inspired along my stamping journey! Today, I took a trip back to December 2006 to refresh my memories of that journey.  Seemed fitting for a Navy wife since three years is typical for a Navy family to move again.  I wanted to remind myself of our last journey since we will be making another journey soon enough.  Russ received orders to Washington, D.C.  and reports there in just a few weeks.  After much discussion and debate, Russ and I decided that the kids and I would stay put until the end of the school year and and then join him for the next adventure.  Decisions like this are never easy and many tears shed as I hate to keep are family apart.  However, I believe the kids are in the best place this school year and they are doing so well.  Don't get me wrong, I know the kids would do fine moving.  I also know they will do great finishing out the school year with their current teachers who I just adore.  This also gives me 5 months or so to figure out how I say good bye once again to some of the most fascinating people.  So many friends have been made in the three short years we have been in Colorado.  I have to admit a part of me is in TRUE denial that I even have to leave.  The thought makes my stomach hurt and brings me back to the day we moved in.  If you have read through this blog you would remember that I wasn't happy on that day.  I wondered how in the world I would ever survive it there.  My stamping adventure in Colorado has truly been the best yet.  It's the longest place I've ever had my business at one time.  It's the place where I have taught the most people.  Really GREAT people.  So, with that all being said…. I celebrate three great years having this blog.  I celebrate all my friends in Colorado that I plan to teach for another 5 months.  It will be 5 GREAT months of CeLeBrAtIoN!

Speaking of celebrating, my sweet friend is getting ready to have a baby.  This baby is a miracle.  She had a terrible time getting pregnant and after many tests and trips to the doctor, she finally conceived.  Hence what I call the… miracle baby.  This sweet baby will be born in February.  Since I am down here in Florida I am unable to attend her baby shower.  Before I left I made a special gift for her I want to share.

This is also a sneak peek of what's to come in the new Mini Catalog.  Whoo Hoo!  I used a stamp set called Fox & Friends.  There are 7 different animals that I just love.  This card also uses a new punch from the Mini Catalog and the Sale a Bration catalog.  Yippie.  Anyway, I made a few simple hand made Thank You cards that she can use after the baby is born.  The buttons I used are actually OLD, OLD, OLD vintage buttons from my husbands grandmother.  Very special buttons to me. I wanted the cards to be simple, elegant and a hint of vintage.  I think I created that look.

I hope your Sunday afternoon is the best.  I am off to finish getting my Christmas cards finished.  I know, I know!  Better late than never, right?

  1. Congrats on 3 years and congrats on making a very hard decision but one which is best for your family!  My brother, a Colonel in the Marines at the Pentagon, just had to make the same decision.  He, too, will leave his wife and 2 boys for a year while in Bahrain.  My heartfelt thanks to your husband for his service and to you and your children for your sacrifices as well.
Have followed your blog for sometime and always enjoy stopping by!
    Blessings to you,
    Karen

  2. Wow, congrats on the 3 years!  You are truly amazing and I really enjoy checking out your blog.  The people in Colorado will miss you!!  But hey, watch out DC – you will do just as well there I am sure.  Good luck to you.
Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing your journey!

  3. {hugs}, Kimberly! I know that you will miss Russ like crazy! I LOVE how you write about him with such love and passion. 🙂
A friend of mine & SU demo, is also moving to the area around the same time as you and the kids. I believe that  the two of you have chatted already…before the news…and she plans on finding  you at Leadership. I am very sad that she is moving away, butg am glad that you will also be "in the area". Now I have another reason to visit the DC area!!!
Looking forward to seeing your creations and hearing your stories over the next several months!
