Project Life: What Else Can I Do?

Project Life: What Else Can I Do?

Oh goodness.  I’m getting addicted to this little Project Life thing.  There are so many great things that you can do with these Project Life cards.

There is a problem though… they are so pretty I want to frame them.  Sigh!

Instead I got a little creative and used my Silhouette Cameo and cut the sun from an MDS SVG file.  I just love it.

Now it’s time to put this card together using my Project Life Everyday Adventures from Stampin’ Up!

Make Creative Cards

The card is layered onto a Whisper White cardstock base and then I layered a few of the cards.  Super simple and a FAST card.

I stamped the Life is Good greeting using the Project Life Remember This photopolymer stamp set.

I stitched a small piece of the Bermuda Bay cardstock texture embossed with the Arrow embossing folder and also added a piece of the White Filter Paper under it.  Love how this looked on the card.

 What Else Can I do?

Here is where you can Step it Up a Notch.  Our new Espresso 6 x 8 Project Life Album is amazing.  The best part is that you can embellish to YOUR desire.  Oh my word.  Isn’t that fantastic???

I had a ball creating a fun album cover on mine.  The possibilities are endless with this.

Project Life, Stampin' Up!, Project Life: Step it Up a Notch

With just a few pieces of fun embellishments and Designer Paper you can get crazy with these albums.  R E A L L Y!!

Pursuit of Happiness

Pursuit of Happiness

Project Life, Pursuit of Happiness, Stampin' Up!

There is no doubt that we have found our happiness here in Iowa.  It’s been a fantastic vacation so far. A serious PAUSE.

It’s so RARE for me to just sit and do nothing.  Especially on vacation.  Don’t you find that vacation is always CRAZY busy?

I’ve learned a few things about myself during this RESTFUL vacation:

  • I need to do this more often.  Laying around in your pajama’s reading a book is OKAY!
  • Napping during the day TWICE is incredible.  Napping never happens in real life.
  • Sitting on the front porch drinking my coffee with NOTHING around isn’t as boring as I thought it would be.

My in-laws live in the country.  Neighbors are not close and corn fields are plentiful.  I’m a city girl so country living has never appealed to me- EVAH! However, just sitting outside watching the clouds go by or watching the birds feed their babies in the bird houses has been good for my soul.  It’s quiet.  It’s given my brain time to chill.

Sunday we had a family “unplug” day.  I was dreading the upcoming event.  Seriously… no phone in my hand? I cannot think of the last time I went without looking at my phone in a 30 minute interval.  I know, it’s sad but I am telling you the truth.

The good news- I survived and so did the kids.  My church small group was given the challenge because we *always* say we are so busy. This was a serious challenge for the kids and I.  This was easy peasy for Russ.

Waking up on Sunday morning the kids acted as if we had forgotten about the challenge and instantly picked up their electronic devices.  They found out quickly we remembered and it was time to pick up a book or play outside.  I found myself a little anxious not being able to pick up my phone and get the morning *news*- Facebook news.  Sad, I thought to myself.

After attending church that morning we came home and the four of us starred at each other for a bit.  The kids dove into the books they had purchased before the trip and I did the same.  Russ was a happy camper spending time with his dad outdoors.

It wasn’t long when Alexis and I were sitting on the bed just having a quiet conversation.  Brandon soon joined us.  It was a moment I didn’t want to end.  Their sweet conversations was heartwarming.  Why don’t we do this more often?

In our pursuit for happiness that day (which we really didn’t think could happen without electronics) we found ourselves completely rested and the day was fantastic.  It was a great PAUSE for each of us.

The kids have continued to enjoy the country life and went horseback riding yesterday.  It was another exciting day for them.

Pursuit of Happiness

My card share for today could not have been more perfect to describe my day.  This Project Life card from our Everyday Adventures Project Life by Stampin’ Up! is one I would love to frame.  Just as a simple reminder.

Project Life, Pursuit of Happiness, Stampin' Up!

I simply adhered the Project Life card onto Basic Black cardstock and then another smaller card (3 x 4) on top of that one.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the feather.  The feather comes from My Digital Studio and was exported as a SVG file and then imported into my Silhouette software.

Once the feather was cut I embossed the tip only using Gold Embossing powder and then adhered it onto the card front using dimensionals.

If you are not a big card maker but are looking to have a few handmade cards readily available, try using a Project Life by Stampin’ Up! card set.  You can make fast and easy cards that are beautiful in minutes.  The artwork is fantastic and you may find yourself framing a few pieces like I want to.

We Make Quite the Pair

We Make Quite the Pair

Not only am I speaking of my stamp greeting today but Russ and I too.

As you know Russ still struggles daily with the use of his right arm.  It’s the slowest EVER to recover.  Even the slightest movement that we see in a finger we get excited.  He’ll go for Botox again on June 10th.  I’m excited as I plan to put my forehead as close to his arm and pray for the needle to slip right to a wrinkle or two on my forehead.

In all seriousness, we are looking forward to this appointment as the Botox is helping.

In other Van Deep in trouble news….

It’s looking like Brandon will be starting Summer vacay early as he’s had a fever for the last two days.  He spiked a fever on Tuesday and I can’t get rid of the darn thing.  He’s been miserable plus he wanted to spend time with his friends before the end of the year.  Instead he has been on the couch in a fever stupor.  Looks like this mama will be bringing him to the Dr. tomorrow.

Brandon

Alexis has a big day today.  It’s her 5th Grade graduation.  I can’t believe it.  No more Elementary school.  I must be really hormonal as this has kinda rocked my world a bit.  My baby, no more elementary school.  I’m thinking I didn’t have enough school lunches with her.  Seriously.  I should have had more school pizza.  Sigh.  Time flies.  It really does.

Alexis Baby

Alexis

Saturday she had her first Ballet Recital.  I was blown away with everything she had learned in a year.  I was so proud.

I’m sure you can relate to the end of school year C R A Z Y!  It’s running me crazy.  I’m ready for the gems to be home for Summer.

SO, why do Russ and I make a great pair? There are many  reasons but today I am only sharing one.

While Russ’ right arm doesn’t work, my LEFT arm is not 100%.  I have a case of “tennis elbow!”  In other terms… my elbow hurts!  Really bad! Nope, I haven’t  been playing tennis but I sure have been stamping.  <grin>

I have the necessary tools to make my elbow feel better but the brace is a real pain to wear when stamping.  I’m not a good patient.

I’m trying to rest my arm but HELLO, how can that be done??

Anyways…. Let me share my card.

Quite the Pair stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Once again I’m using my Project Life cards to create a hand made card.  I love them.  I also used the Retro Fresh Journaling Cards to complete it.  That little man and woman still make me smile and I’ve hoarded a bunch.  My sweet customer Diann even sent me more.  <giggle>  I have an obsession with wooden people.

Project Life and Starburst Sayings

Project Life and Starburst Sayings

I hate to admit that I haven’t made a traditional Project life layout yet.  Instead I’ve loved creating simple cards using my Project Life cards.   I love each of the designs in the Project Life kit and the colors are perfect.
Project Life Stampin' Up!, Starburst Sayings stamp set

This card  came together beautifully with the striped base of Basic Gray.  The ease of Stampin’ Up!’s Project Life kits is that they coordinate with all of our cardstock and inks.

I used Blushing Bride cardstock, ribbon and ink to create this card paired with Starburst Sayings.  Of course there are only a few days left to get your hands on that Strawberry Slush ruffle ribbon.  It added just enough splash of pink to make it pop on the card.

Project Life Shaker Card

Project Life Shaker Card!

Because my time has been so crazy lately my time in the stamp studio has been very little.  While I am chopping at the bit to use my Project Life set for scrapbooking, I’m also enjoying using these awesome Project Life cards for card making.

One of the cards in my Everyday Adventure Card kit was the black & white stripe with a punched heart. I thought this would be PERFECT to create a shaker card.

Project Life, Stampin' up! Shaker Cards

Shaker cards are easy to create using the Shaker Frames from Stampin’ Up!  Since the shaker frame did not quite fit my heart I cut the circle and fit around my punched heart.  Using our Window sheets I placed one on each side of the Shaker Frames and then punched a few random images using Basic Black, Whisper White and Basic Gray cardstock to fit inside.

I added a simple ribbon bow at the bottom and then stamped a greeting onto the Essential Wooden Elements.

Project Life, Stampin' up! Shaker Cards

Tip: Make sure to use Black Stazon ink when stamping onto your Wooden Elements.  There is no feathering and it stamps nice and CRISP!
