Hot Chocolate, Anyone?

Hot Chocolate, Anyone?

It’s time for another Artisan Blog Hop and I’m going to pretend that we are all having hot chocolate or coffee together as you hop along this inspirational hop of creativity.

If you’ve been with me for awhile you know I have a love affair for coffee and my favorite place to have coffee is Starbucks.

It’s probably no surprise that when I opened the new Occasions Catalog I found a few stamp sets that go along with my coffee obsession.

I’m excited to share how I’ve incorporated 3 new stamp sets and a framelit to create these fun projects.

Come, Let Us Sit Together

First, can I tell you how awesome this greeting is- “Come, let us sit together…”? I can think of numerous projects with this ONE greeting from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

Create it!

I thought it would be fun to create a card and a little pocket for a hot chocolate or instant coffee pack.

To create this card I used the Cup & Kettle Framelits Dies to die cut the coffee cup.  The coffee cup was die cut twice and layered onto each other to make the die cut a tad thicker.

The coffee cup  was stamped with the Sunburst Sayings stamp set using the tiny dots.  I sponged around the coffee cup just a bit to give it a little more definition.

To create my “foam” or “whip cream” I used the cloud image from the Balloon Celebration stamp set stamped with Sahara Sand ink.  I fussy cut each of the clouds and then sponged very lightly around each of them.  I layered the images onto the front and back of the coffee cup to also add a bit more definition using a dimensional.  Another fun step for the whip cream was adding a little bit of shimmer using the Clear Wink of Stella pen.

A small detail was adding the antiqued silver spoon from the Have a Cuppa Embellishments.  OH MY WORD! Ca-utness x 100.

Another fun but small detail is adding the “coffee stain” onto the Crumb Cake Circle punch.  This was created using the Timeless Textures stamp set.  <MUST HAVE!>

You might notice this doily is smaller from the normal doilies I use.  This doily comes from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  They are so CUTE and fit the 2-1/2″ Circle punch perfectly in the center.

I thought it would be fun to have a little pocket for a hot chocolate pack or instant coffee.  This was easily created using the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits.  PERFECTION.

Create it!

To create this cute little pocket, simply die cut using the Gift Card Framelit.  Assemble the gift card as normal except take the top flap and adhere to the back using a dimensional as seen below.

For the front, cut another piece of cardstock the same color as you die cut to measure 2-3/4 x 4.  Attach to the front of the gift card using Tear Tape.  This will create your pocket.

I kept the front rather simple but the same theme as the card to coordinate.

Will You Join Me?

Yes, we may be miles and miles away but today we can pretend that we had a cup of Hot Chocolate together or coffee.  From the looks of the weather a nice cuppa hot would keep us all warm.

As always, I’m tickled that so many of these new stamps and framelits coordinate so great together making creating effortless.

Time to Hop!

It’s time to grab a cuppa something and hop to see what the other Artisans have created.  Keep in mind there are 20+ creative projects to be seen from all over the WORLD.  Because this is a global hop, I highly recommend using Google Translate to read some the Artisans blogs from other countries.  You might need it to read my southern lingo.  HA HA HA.

Next on the hop is one of my favorite Canadians Krista Frattin.  She is someone I would LOVE LOVE to sit and have a cuppa joe with.  Let’s see what she created…
