Adding Texture to a Card

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin' Up!Happy Thursday! Today I want to share a card that has numerous textures added.  I love adding different textures to my projects and you can get this effect using many Stampin' Up! products.

The Canvas Creations is one of my new favorite products that I used.  This product tears beautifully, and then to get the fraying on the ends just pull a few strings and you will start to see the fray. When you want to tear a piece of the canvas just make a small cut with your scissors and RIP away. It's easy and a fun stress reliever!

Another great texture to add is the use of Textured Embossing Folders.  I tend to use my favorites such as the Chevron or the Honeycomb embossing folder more frequently, but Stampin' Up! has beautiful ones to choose from.  You can see them HERE.  I added the Chevron Textured Embossing folder to my Pool Party cardstock.

Another great texture to add is the Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon.  Just like the Canvas Creations, I love to fray the ends.  Again, just pull ONE string and you will see how easy it is to fray.

I love Linen Thread on my cards but for this card I decided to DOUBLE the thread before wrapping it around the card.  This bulked up the thread a little around the card.

Burlap. Oh. Burlap!  It's in, it's trendy and I love it.  I bought an old coffee burlap bag while I was in Orlando in January.  I love the texture of this burlap becasue the weave is more open.  It wasn't easy to cut up, but it sure does add a little fun to a card.  I attached this to the card using my Glue Gun.

The label was cut with my e-Cutter.  I exported the Get it Done punch 2 from My Digital Studio and imported into my e-Cutter.  F.U.N.

You may notice a little Gold Splatter, White Splatter, and Shimmer to the card.  All are great textures to add to the card.  While you may not "feel" this texture it's great texture for the eye.

The White texture was stamped using my March Paper Pumpkin exclusive image.  *love*

The Gold splatter was created from my Gold Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.  —-> Must HAVE. You will find it on the Clearance Rack for 1.99 HERE.  Uh huh… you read that correctly! That will provide you with a lot of SPLATTER!

My last little detail and texture was adding a few Rhinestones. Love the sparkle that it adds.
