Wonderland- Stampin’ Up!

Wonderland- Stampin’ Up!

By now you have clearly realized that Stampin’ Up!’s holiday catalog has products that are over the top and has most completely HOOKED.

Each of the stamp sets in the holiday catalog has my held my brain on crafting overload.  I have not been without ideas, just out of time.  I am sure you can totally relate to this.

The Wonderland stamp set has been patiently waiting for me. Not exactly sure why I haven’t picked up this set more already because of one image that just rocks my CRAFTY world- the Antlers.

Now it’s these very antlers I have studied for awhile wondering how in the world I can utilize them on a crafty card.

Instantly the word PINK came to mind.

You see, I’ve had the pleasure of taking a trip with Russ to a Bass Pro shop.  This is NOT my idea of shopping. In fact, I instantly want to look for the restaurant and tell him to find me when he is done… 3 hours later.  Seriously, he can never complain about shopping with me.  I’m not a 3 hour shopper.

Here is the thing – I was instantly drawn to the pink/green camo hunting gear for girls. Like I wanted to try some of this stuff on.  Now remember, I am not a hunter, fisherwoman, or any other outdoorsy type of girl.  Me + adventure = NOT happening. Buying this pink camo would purely be for the cute factor it was bringing to the table for me.

All of this had me thinking about my antler image in the Wonderland stamp set.  Who knew the pink inspiration would come from the Bass Pro Shop.

Instant Love

As soon as I stamped the trees using the Blushing Bride ink, it was instant love. In fact, now I want to stamp these trees over and over again and try them in blue… blue Christmas.  The possibilities are endless with this stamp set.

The antlers were stamped onto Whisper White and then punched using the Note Tag punch.  The greeting fit perfect below the antlers from the Reason for the Season stamp set. I used the Woodgrain Texture Embossing Folder on Whisper White and Blushing Bride cardstock and I love the texture this brings to the card.

Find Inspiration Everywhere

The moral to my story is you can find inspiration anywhere and everywhere.  Seek and you will find.  Most importantly don’t be afraid to step outside of your comfort zone. Like I said, adventure and outdoors is not my thing but funny how going to that big creepy outdoors place brought me inspiration I never thought about.  Even funnier is my love for antlers but the thought of shooting bambi makes me cringe.  This only fuels the fire for my hunting lover brother who makes sure to send pictures of his latest kill.  Oh help me.

What about you? Have you found inspiration in a crazy place for a crafty project? I’d love to here.

Meanwhile, I’ll continue to make the pretty things with these adorable antlers and amazing tree image.  Wonderland is definitely on my must stamp again list and you will be seeing more of it. Make sure to check out this entire product line.  It’s not only the Wonderland stamp set you will fall in love for, its the whole enchilada.

Don’t forget….

Happy Veterans Day!  While we should ALWAYS thank our veterans who fight to protect our freedom, I hope today you will sincerely thank a veteran for protecting you. They are amazing men and women.  I am so proud of my family of veterans- Russ, My dad, brother, uncles, and grandfathers were all military.  We are military strong… and proud.  If you have a veteran at home, please please let them know I said THANK YOU for the many sacrifices they made.

Russ was a speaker at our church on Sunday night.  Oh my, a MAN in uniform… SQUEAL!

  1. Give that handsome dude in uniform a hug and tell him I said “Thank you for your service.” And thank YOU for your service keeping the home fires burning.
    Blessings,
    Deborah

  2. Oh my, what a BEAUTIFUL card! Just adore pink, and this is one of the prettiest Christmas cards I’ve seen, a real stunner! It is our Armistice Day today, here in England, and so we are both thinking of the sacrifices made and given, and that have to still go on, to keep us all safe.

  3. Oh I just love the card! Happy Birthday!

I am so thankful that there is a place us crafter card makers can go to see awesome cards and get awesome tools to make awesome stuff.

  4. Oh Kimberly, what a lovely card! Just love all the pinks! And sparkly ribbon!!

Russ looks so handsome! It is great to see his smile. Please express our gratitude to him, the kids, and to you, too. It is not easy to be a military family and you all sacrifice. Thank you!!

I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!

  5. Be. Still. My. Heart. Kimberly–your card is just stunning and I can’t stop staring at it!!!! I think what I love most is your layout and all of the layering/embellishments. I think I just found the layout for my 2015 Christmas card. Thank you for inspiring me today!

  6. I love this! I was challenged by my stamping group to make a card using those antlers and I’ve been stumped. I may have to case this one! You always amaze me with your talent.
