Treats for all seasons!

A couple of days ago you will remember I showed you the treat holder I demonstrated at my workshop.  You can see it again HEREI promised a video and I have it ready for you.  There is a funny in it, as always.  Jeesh!

Instead of doing the same ole treat I switched it up and created a little treat for Halloween.  My poor kids are so confused with the holidays right now.  Alexis does NOT understand why I am creating for Halloween so soon.  Brandon thinks Christmas is next month!  So funny!

Okay, here it is…

In other news, I am trying to get my kids ready for school.  You know the drill- haircuts, school clothes and school supplies.  Tonight as I put my boy to bed we had a deep chat.  More like another life lesson.  I have to admit that I love bedtime because it seems to be the time my kids really open up and chat.  Probably because they don't want to go to bed! Tonight's conversation was so sweet.  It was all about making new friends.  He's nervous and misses his friends in Colorado.  I wiped away little tears tonight and shed my big tears later.  Again, this will all be water under the bridge soon.  Friends will be made and we will laugh about all this soon. With our other moves the kids were smaller and meeting new friends was all relative.  Now that they're a little older this is a HUGE issue.  I'm excited for the school year to start so they can meet new buddies.  I think the first day of school will be memories like their first day of Kindergarten.  Bittersweet.  I'll be nervous for them myself.

Enjoy the video and we'll meet up again in a few days-possibly tomorrow if I can get myself together.

  1. Adorable…love those witch feet sticking out.  Thinking of your children…and hoping all goes well at the start of school and that they make new friends quickly!

  2. So cool!  How do you come up with these unique ideas!!!!!  Lucky for me – I get to CASE them.   Love the witches feet sticking out upside down……  Hope your kids come home from school with happy smiles.

  3. Love this project Kimberly!!!  I too cut that big ribbon in half all the time for different projects and love the worn/vintage look to it.
I'm getting the kids ready for school here too…today we are going throgh their drawers to see exactly what clothes they will need this season.  This is one of those times that they will not have a different school (from the one they started in mid-march this year) but I understand how difficult school changes and friend changes can be as they get older…I'm sure your kids will be smiling from ear to ear in a couple of weeks and in the meantime,  just watch that smile start and get bigger day by day.
Sending lots of virtual hugs over your way!!!

  4. Oh my gosh…this is so adorable!! I love how you used the two tags to create a treat holder. I'm so going to give that a try today.
    Once again…fabulous project my friend!!!!

  5. You are too darn cute!!!  I love all of your projects and wished I lived a little bit closer (upstate NY) so I could attend one of your workshops!
I am thinking about your kids as switching schools is tough. I have 3 kids, 8th, 6th, & 1st.  My youngest is going to a Montesouri school this year so she is a little nervous about making new freinds.  By the end of the 1st day I know she will have made a ton of new freinds!
Good Luck – And I am counting down the days until the 1st day…They need to get out of the house!!
    Lots of hugs – Stephanie!

  6. Hi Kim,  I love love love your videos!  They are so helpful since Im such a visual learner.  Thank you so much for doing them, as Im sure they create more work for you in the long run.  I really appreciate you and your creativity.  Good luck with your children, with having you for a mom, they cant go wrong.  They will be making friends right away.

  7. Thank you so much for the video! I will make one of these cute treat holders soon! I think  my customers will love them as much as I do.

  8. I adore the Halloween project Kimberly.  I really wish we got all the Halloween stamps, papers etc over here in Australia.  I just love this holiday and more and more people are celebrating it over here as I do each year.  But it is so difficult to find good products to create the Halloween look.  I love all the SU Halloween stamps and so want them lol.  Good luck with the children starting school too and I fully understand where they are coming from having to make new friends and it is more difficult to make them as they get older but they will.
    Take care
    Michelle

  9. awww, your sweet kids… I feel for you and your little ones and in the words of my three year old, 'at the same time' I know that you'll all make it through.  Even just from reading your blog, it's obvious that you are all strong and support each other.  All the best for back to school and making new friends and rebuilding your business in your new home town!

  10. The trick with the legs upside down coming out of the top are the icing on the cake for me on this project!  I love anything Halloween and this has TOTALLY made my day.  Thank you for posting such a great treat :0)

  11. I really enjoy following your blog, love your stamping style.  Thank you for sharing your ideas.
    Sue

  12. Perhaps your kids could connect with some classmates ahead of the big day, so they will at least know someone.  Have they visited their new school?  Usually the teachers and principal are there a week early to get things ready.  Perhaps if they could see their classroom and figure out where the bathrooms are it won't be such a huge unknown.

  13. Kim,
I love the Halloween Candy holder. It's soooo… cute. I've been looking for some really quick items to make  for my National Card Making and Open House event on October 2nd. I think this will be one of the items to make!!! So cute!!! Thanks for sharing the video. Love it. You are so creative!
