Tile questions

Published by Kimberly at 8:42 am under 3-D, Tutorials

Good morning friends,
I have had a bunch of questions on the tiles and I thought I would answer some of them. I wish I had time in my day to make the beautiful tutorials that others do, but it just can’t happen. However, I can tell you how to make them. :)

First, you need to purchase the tiles at your local Hardware store. I use Tumbler tiles. These are approx. 6×6 in size. Love this size. They cannot be a slick surface. These tiles once finished will be used more for decorative purposes and not a coaster. Pick your stamp set and then use CRAFT ink to stamp. Once you have stamped, use Glassy Glaze over the tile. Tap off excess. Pop in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 min and BAM they are done. Let them cool and then add some fun accessories to them for added fun. These are TERRIFIC for gifts and beautiful in your home. If you have any questions, just email me directly. :) I hope this helps!
Have a FABULOUS day!!!

Thanks so much for answering my questions. I don’t need a tutorial just a couple how to’s and then I am off and running. I would like to do a couple of these after my wedding in September.

Hi Kimberly, I understand busy believe me! I am wondering though this comment,”These tiles once finished will be used more for decorative purposes and not a coaster.” Is it because of the craft ink? Does the Glassy Glaze not seal them? I love the tiles you made and I would love to make some as gifts but I would like to send a warning if they are not to be used as coasters.
    Thanks for info in advance!

[...] The one on the left is from last year.  It was kind of my test tile as well.  Alexis noticed that her hand had not grown much. *chuckle*  If you look at it, she had the baby fat still in her hand.  This year she doesn’t.  Oh, that makes me sad.  Here are the tiles a little closer.  If you are looking for a tutorial on the tiles clickHERE! Hi Kimberly,
Your tiles are beautiful! I tried to make one on the tumbler tiles, but after 10 minutes in the oven the Glassy Glaze bubbled. Did I leave them in to long? I put the timer on and it was 10 minutes at 350. Has this hapened to you? I will try it again, I found some tiles that are not slick and hope they work.
You have a wonderful blog. Thanks

    Hi Kimberly!

    Beautiful tiles!
What did you charge for the class?
How many tiles did each person make?  Was it a per tile fee?
    Thanks for your time!  Dianna

I was wondering how you make the beautiful bows with the netting. What size do you cut the netting? Any tips? I love your work and your website. You must be awesome in real life to make $12,000 in sales a month!!
    Congratulations
