Crazy for Blooms-Botanical Blooms

Crazy for Blooms-Botanical Blooms

Blooms on the flowers are in full force here in Florida.  My allergies can tell you for sure.

I think this could be the worst year I’ve had for allergies living here.  The pollen is outrageous, but the blooms are beautiful.

I’m excited you are visiting today as the Artisans are sharing flowers galore.  They are pollen free and pretty to look at and for this I’m grateful.

Botanical Blooms

From the beginning that I laid eyes on Botanical Blooms I had a feeling I would struggle with this suite.  It’s interesting how this entire suite has grown on me and I can honestly say I love the framelits that coordinate with the Botanical Blooms stamp set.

Same Set-Different Colors

I’ve created to cards to share today both using the Botanical Blooms but both using different color schemes.  I love how they both turned out.

My inspiration for the colors on this first card started with the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper.  I started the first layer with stamping the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set on the Shimmer White cardstock and then started to build the card from there.

Quick Tips to Create

Blooms, Botanical Blooms, Stampin' Up!

  • Having a Sponge Dauber on hand was perfect to darken the color of the cardstock using the coordinating ink.
  • I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp sets large splatter image over the Mint Macaron flower for added texture.
  • The It’s My Party Enamel Dots make for a perfect flower center.
  • I used the Grateful Bunch stamp set for the greeting.

Bright Blooms Color Change

I couldn’t help but try using the Botanical Blooms using brighter colors.

The little tiny flower image just made me giggle with joy.  I love when a stamp does that for me.  It’s so tiny and CUTE.  I love how it looks in the different colors coming down the cardstock.

Quick Tips to Create

  • I used the Oh So Lovely stamp set for the greeting.
  • Once the tiny flowers were stamped, I started building up my flower bouquet using Mini Glue dots to keep in place.
  • I added a thread from the White Jute ribbon under the flowers.

Botanical Blooms can be used so many different ways.  I love when you can look at a stamp set and see more than just a flower.

I hope you are inspired to create using the Botanical Blooms Bundle.  It’s definitely a keeper and will be carrying over to the new catalog.  That’s AWESOME news.

Eating My Way Through Utah!

Eating My Way Through Utah!

Eating and eating and eating.  I’m eating my way through Salt Lake City, Utah.

My friend Cathy and I are trying to make sure we visit all of our favorite eateries this trip.  Boy has it been fun and we are so full.  It was definitely the best decision to come early and enjoy a few days of EATING.

If you are reading this and you have not eaten yet…. you might want to.  I could possibly make you very hungry.

Waffle Love

By far my favorite little place.

We looked high and low for this food truck last year and once we found it we were in heaven.

Waffle Love has done so great they now have a restaurant.  This was the one BIG thing on our bucket list this trip.

The Waffle Grilled Cheese and Tomato Bisque was incredible.  Definitely thinking we will have to have this one more time before we leave.  If you find yourself here in Salt Lake City, put this on your list.  You won’t be disappointed.

Eva’s Bakery

This little gem makes me SO happy.  Not only great food, the atmosphere of this place is pure joy.  Love love love it.

Let me say this… I’m not typically one to take pics of my food.  Really.  I don’t do it.  But this was divine.  It’s called Carbonara Macaroni (I think).  I wanted to lick the bowl, but seems how the restaurant was full, I believe it was completely inappropriate.  I thought about it.  I did.

Just when you think it couldn’t get better, you stop to pay and you are met with a dessert area.

At first I thought I couldn’t possibly eat another thing.  It’s all Cathy’s fault.  I had to have a Raspberry Macaroon.  Delish!

The Cluck Truck

The hotel we are staying at has a food truck that comes every Wednesday.  Today’s truck was the Cluck Truck.

It was pouring rain but we were determined to find our way over to this truck.  Again, totally worth it.

I didn’t get a picture of my ginormous wrap that I ate, but WOW… it was GOOD.

Life Outside of the Food….

There is a life outside of the food.  Cathy and I have enjoyed shopping and tonight I watched her stamp a few swaps.  All while I sit in a massive food coma.

I did also stamp a few things before I left.

Now… I hope you don’t mind that I stamped ANOTHER card using the You’re So Lovely stamp set.

I don’t typically do this, but I can’t help it.  I do love this set.

It makes me happy.

You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!,

I believe the little circle wreath (if that is what we want to call it) is my favorite and I see so many possibilities with it.

You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!,

I used the Botanical Blooms stamp set to stamp the tiny flowers in the background.  They are SO cute.  So tiny.

You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!,

I used the Tree Builder punch (again…) to stamp the little flowers.  Oh I love this.  Bare with me.  They are so tiny too.

All the supplies I used are below in the clickable links.

I think I should go find the gym at the hotel to exercise a little of all this food off my body.
That’s kinda funny and I know that’s not going to happen.
Meanwhile, I hope you are having a great week.  Tomorrow we pick up our bags and the NEW catalog.  I can’t WAIT.
Have an AWESOME Thursday!!

Bright & Cheerful

Bright & Cheerful

Bright & cheerful is something I love to strive for but when the alarm went off at 4:30 this morning so I could catch my flight- bright & cheerful was not the first thing on my mind.

Add in the fact I went to the doctor yesterday and received antibiotics for a sinus infection….  cheerful was NOT the feeling I was having.

It’s amazing what 24 hours on antibiotics can make a girl feel. Not 100% but already feeling a little more pep in my skip.

I’ve arrived safely to Salt Lake City and now I’m hoping for a few days of rest fun with my girlfriend before the conference starts.

Brighten Your Life

Bright & Cheerful, Stampin' Up!

Before I left I created a few cards with the You’re So Lovely stamp set.

I’m loving this set.  That wreath… be still my heart!!

The options are WIDE open with this stamp set and I’m giving it a run for it’s money.

Bright & Cheerful, Stampin' Up!

I used some bright colors for today’s card:

  • Tangerine Tango
  • Melon Mambo
  • Rich Razzleberry
  • Daffodil Delight

Maybe I’m trying to bypass spring and push for some Summer time colors.  ??

Either way the bright colors make a bold statement and I love i.t.

Hope you are having a great start to your week.  It’s time for me to rest as I ate a big ole waffle from my favorite eatery here in Utah-Waffle Love.  It does cause one heck of a food coma.  It’s amazing.

You’re So Lovely-Quick & Easy

You’re So Lovely-Quick & Easy

Lovely is the first word I said after creating today’s card.  It’s striking, yet lovely because it was definitely quick and easy.

Sometimes I can apply tons of layers and elements to a card and that word “lovely” always pops into my mind.  It’s when I can create a quick and easy card that I struggle with the lovely.

I am sure it’s because I’m a creature of habit, so the more layers and elements I add increases my “lovely” ticker.

But that’s not always the case, nor should it be.

Sometimes time is the relative factor that keeps me from adding and adding another piece of cardstock or element.

Sometimes it’s the mood I’m in.

Today, it was the stamp set that led me to this quick and easy card.

Lovely, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

I love the You’re So Lovely Project Kit and the stamp set that goes along with it has been neglected.  I pulled it out last night and before you know it I had a card created in less than 10 minutes.

Now that is LOVELY!

Lovely, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

The colors couldn’t be more happy and spring.  It was the perfect combination of many things.  Perfect for the recipients that will receive it as well.

Tips & Tricks

To create this card you will only need a few products.

  • I stamped the circle image 4 times offsetting each one using Pear Pizzaz ink.
  • The tiny flowers come from the Tree Builder punch (this is my new favorite punch!!) The tiny flowers are perfection and WHY WHY WHY am I just now figuring this out???
  • The main piece of Whisper White cardstock measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.  The card base is Whisper White Thick cardstock 4-1/4 x 11.  The small piece of Schoolhouse  Designer paper that you see measures 2 x 5-1/2″.  Another fav for me.

You can see all of the supplies I used for this card in the clickable links below.

Lovely, You're So Lovely, Stampin' Up!

I’m leaving on a jet plane EARLY in the morning headed for Salt Lake City for a Stampin’ Up! conference.  I’m always excited to see my girlfriends, my team and just be in the lovely state of Utah.  I might be a bit quiet this week because I can never work ahead, and I talk to much when I’m away to finally sit down to blog.  BUT… I’m going to try and keep you posted on the fun things I see. I am looking forward to seeing my bestie.  This always fills my cup.
XOXOXO
