November Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop

Tutorial Bundle, Smitten Mittens, Stampin' Up!

It’s time for the latest Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop for November!  This month I used the Smitten Mittens Bundle!  What a fun stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!,

Each month I and eleven other demonstrators from around the world gather together and create a huge tutorial filled with amazing ideas not seen anywhere on the internet.  This month we have another Holiday Edition.  Tons of great ideas from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. The greatness wrapped up in each of our tutorials is the diversity.  Not only are you seeing cards, but different 3D projects as well.  Ideas that are TIMELESS.  That’s the best part.  You can use the ideas over and over again for future use.  These tutorials are beautifully put together, professional and easy to read. I hope you will take the time to try one for yourself.

This blog hop consists of the Tutorial Design team creating a project using the stamp bundle used in the tutorial.  It’s like getting 12 extra projects! WOW.  Prepared to be wowed with lots of great ideas.

Tips & Tricks

Below you will find tips and tricks to duplicate this card:

  • I love layers and this card is filled with tons of great layers.  The card base is created using Whisper White Thick cardstock. Layered over the card base is the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  To create a softer look, I textured embossed the Vellum cardstock using the Winter Wonder Textured Embossing Folder then placed over the DSP.
  • I textured embossed the Smoky Slate cardstock using the Softly Falling Textured Embossing Folder and then placed it across the Vellum.

  • I fell in love with the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper.  This neutral paper will go with anything and it was perfect for a sweet added layer across the Smoky Slate cardstock.
  • Then I stamped the mitten using Bermuda Bay ink, using the Smitten Mittens stamp set then die cut using the Many Mittens Framelits.
  • The last elements for this card were a few of my favorite embellishments: Delicate White Doily, Black Bakers Twine, and a few sequins.

I love the greetings in this stamp set!

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips on how I created this card:

  • The background was created using the Pattern Party Decorative Masks with an Aqua Painter and ink.  I used Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Melon Mambo inks.
  • Once the ink for the background was dry, I created splatter using an Aqua Painter loaded with Melon Mambo ink and tapped it lightly over the background.

  • I love adding small details to cards by using the Enamel Shapes.

Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

Today I am overloading you with inspiration.  I hope you don’t mind.  I’m a very lucky girl who gets to design with talented demonstrators each month for a bundled tutorial.

March Tutorial Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Dreams

We started the blog hops to give our viewers and customers an idea of our designing.

This month’s tutorial is over the top filled with not only cards but beautiful 3-D box ideas.

This tutorial might be my favorite yet!

Here is a sneak peek of the March tutorial.

March Tutorial Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Dreams

This month I used the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle for my tutorial project.  I love how majestic dragonflies look, and this set gives you so many opportunities to create a beautiful dragonfly any way you wish.

Below you will see another project I created using this set.  Dragonfly Dreams is a very fun set to create with.

Dragonfly Dreams

March Tutorial Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Dreams

One of my favorite die cuts from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies is the stack of dragonflies together.  I love the detail and how the change in direction.

Look how beautiful they display when using Glimmer Paper! I used the NEW 6 x 6 Glimmer Paper Assortment Stack (FREE Sale-a-Bration item) for my dragonflies.  This stack includes three colors of Glimmer Paper: Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and  Sweet Sugarplum.

March Tutorial Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Dreams

Tips & Tricks

  • The base of the card is Mint Macaron 4-1/4″ x 11, scored at 5-1/2″.
  • The first layer is Watercolor Paper, with a watercolor wash using Pool Party ink.
  • I watercolored the Delicate White Doily using Pool Party ink.  Use an Aqua Painter to watercolor over the doily, then heat-set with a heat tool.
  • I used a staple to keep the ribbon, doily, and dragonflies in place and stapled onto a Stitched Shapes Square die cut.

March Tutorial Bundle, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Dreams

  • I wrapped a small strip of Mint Macaron cardstock (1/2″ x 4-1/2″) across the card with my greeting.

My project for this month’s tutorial was so much fun to create.  I created a beautiful box and four cards to go inside.  I was a little giddy over the project.

If you are looking for inspiration this month, look no further and see what this tutorial is all about.  Dare to be amazed. You can find past tutorials HERE for only $15.

Specially Designed

Why are we coming together for a blog hop? It’s simple.  To inspire you.

Each designer will be using the stamp set or technique they chose to use for the February tutorial so you can get a taste of their creative design. It’s not the same idea thats listed in our tutorial, only the technique or stamp set.

Meet the designers…. they are all pretty amazing!

Now, let’s create!!

Nailed It!

For the February tutorial, I chose to use the Nailed It stamp set. I picked this stamp set more for a challenge than anything.  Seeing how I’m not much of a “tool” girl.  It was the perfect challenge, and I took it one step further.

I decided to create one card that was more frilly and another card with a splash of man! Let’s see how they came together.

Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

The addition of the doily was the perfect addition of girly I was trying to achieve.

My favorite part of this card is the greeting.  It’s not just a simple thanks, but thanks for building “ME” up.  I LOVE this!

Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

  • Watercolor using Dapper Denim and Smoky Slate ink onto Watercolor Paper measuring 4″ x 5-1/2″.
  • Save 10% by purchasing the Nailed It bundle.  This bundle includes the stamp set (clear or wood) and the Build It Framelits Dies.  Click HERE to see this bundle.
  • Two pieces of the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper was added to the card front.  This paper is fresh with modern designs perfect for the man card or an eclectic look with the great designs.
  • Don’t forget to add the self-sticking Urban Underground Embellishments.  You will see these are used on both card designs.

The Man Version

Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

I wish making “man” cards would come easy for me to create.  The fact is- they are NOT.

Once I got my groove on, the idea started to flow.

Tips & Tricks

  • Using Crumb Cake cardstock, texture emboss the cardstock using the Hexagons Dynamic Embossing Folder.  Then die cut using the Build It Framelit (hexagon die).  Finally, attach the hexagons onto the Crumb Cake cardstock at the top.
  • Stamp the hammer onto Smoky Slate and Dapper Denim cardstock with coordinating ink and die cut.  Cut the bottom handle of the Dapper Denim hammer’s and attach to the stamped Smoky Slate hammers.

I’ve enjoyed working with the Nailed It bundle.  Surprisingly I’ve made more girlie cards using this set than cards for a man.  I guess a girl who loves a doily can turn any man set into something universal.

Be Inspired!

Now it’s time to see what the rest of the team has created.  Your next stop is a dear friend and incredible designer, Kylie Bertucci.

I’ve always been inspired by Kylie’s work which is a clean simple style. Click the button below to follow the hop and see the work of this fun design team.  You can see the entire line-up of designers for the tutorial bundle blog hop below.
