Get Acquainted with Berry Burst

Man o man!  Every single new InColor makes me happy! After water coloring with the new Berry Burst Classic Ink pad, I was amazed! It’s beautiful.  Berry Burst reminds me of a color we had years ago, Purely Pomegranate.  I’m so pumped to use these new colors, and I know you will be too.

Delicate Flowers from Orange Blossom Stamp Set

Berry Burst, OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!, Orange Blossom

Today I’m sharing another card using the Orange Blossom stamp set.  I love the opportunities this stamp set provides with the many delicate flowers and even an orange. I’ll be telling you a funny story about that “orange” blossom stamp soon.

I loved the new products I was able to use on this card:

  • Orange Blossom Stamp Set
  • Touches of Nature Elements (wood elements)
  • Berry Burst Cardstock & Ink
  • White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips when creating this card:

  • I started this card using Berry Burst 4-1/4″ x 11″ for the card base.  Then I added the Powder Pink cardstock 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″  to the Berry Burst card base.
  • Next, I used Watercolor Paper and added a very light watercolor wash using Berry Burst Classic ink and my Aqua Painter.  Then I heat set the ink using my Heat Tool.  Once dry I went back over the first layer of watercolor with another layer of Berry Burst ink.  This time I went a little darker.
  • I added splatter to the card using my Aqua Painter with Berry Burst ink.   Create the splatter by tapping the Aqua Painter with a bone folder over the watercolor paper.

  • I stamped the florals onto Whisper White cardstock using Berry Burst and Old Olive inks and then stamped the greeting using Archival Basic Black Ink.  Once stamped, I die cut the image using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • The floral wooden element was attached using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I added a bow using the new 1/8″ White Sheer Ribbon paired with Linen Thread.
  • One of my favorite things on this card is the lace border die cut.  This die cut is from the Flourish Thinlits.  This is carrying over into the new catalog, and I’m SUPER happy!

Add a Touch of Elegance!

To finish this card, I added two products that always add a touch of Elegance- Delicate Doilies, and Pearls.

I loved how this card turned out.  I’m not sure if it’s my love affair with the stamp set or the Berry Burst that drives that emotion, but either way, the card made me happy!

One More Sweet Project…

Berry Burst, OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!, Orange Blossom

One of the other stamp sets I had the privilege to work with- Label Me Pretty.  This stamp set coordinates with a new fun punch called Pretty Label Punch.  Label Me Pretty not only has beautiful images, but gorgeous fonts used for the greetings.

I created this tag using the Perfect Mix stamp set in the Occasions Catalog on page 35.  This stamp set is retiring, so grab it fast if it’s one you love.

Take note of a few things on this card:

  • Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon
  • Tranquil Tide Cardstock & Ink
  • Pretty Label Punch

I’ll be sharing MORE tomorrow.  Wink Wink!

I had a blast in Salt Lake City.  Truly it’s not just about the convention itself but the time spent with my friends.  Many of which are best friends since joining this community almost 13 years ago.  I come back refreshed after spending time with them.  They make me laugh until I almost wet my drawers and I feel like I’ve exercised my cheeks for an entire year from laughing.  It’s SO SO good.

Ready, OnStage, Stampin' Up!

Days spent with this girl was amazing.  We ate, shopped, laughed, and acted like teenagers during the day… old ladies at night.  Isn’t that the best?

Ready, OnStage, Stampin' Up!

Here are a few of my team sitting together during the event.  I love them!!

Macy’s was our friend during our stay in Salt Lake City.  We enjoyed the shopping.  I hope Russ is still my friend.  Ha Ha Ha!

Ready, OnStage, Stampin' Up!

It’s tradition that we get together after the event for dinner.  Oh gosh.  I can’t tell you how much my cup is overflowing.  The picture says it all.  The laughing.  I love love love being with these women.  They crack me up and they are so so so talented.  Everyone has a story.  We listen. Everyone has a different style and we love it.  This is what it’s ALL about.  Just being together and enjoying the love of this company- Stampin’ Up!

Seriously, I’m not kidding.  I would love for YOU to be a part of it too.

XOXO

Going Global-Stampin’ Up!

Going Global-Stampin’ Up!

Holy Moly! Today the UPS man dropped an awesome package on my doorstep and I couldn’t wait to tear into the box.  It was filled with Stampin’ Up! products that are being released in January.  This is one of the greatest perks of being a demonstrator- getting my hands on things first.

Going Global stamp set, Stampin' Up!

The reality is I have FOMO disease- Fear of Missing Out!

It’s the truth.  This little disease plays a roll in so many things I do. Even when I was a school girl I had this disease.  I would rarely miss a day of school for fear of missing out on something great happening.  Years and years later I’m still in deep with this same issue.

The first stamp set I wanted to play with from the new Occasions Catalog was the Going Global stamp set.  I was able to stamp with the Going Global stamp set at the recent OnStage event.  This set had more meaning to me after the recent attacks in Paris.  I can’t imagine the depth of fear the people in Paris had at that time.  It also made me think of our demonstrators in that area.  Stampin’ Up! is a global company and during these attacks our demonstrators in Europe were gathered for their OnStage event.  What a scary time for everyone.

The Inspiration

Tonight when I started to stamp with this stamp set my first thought was, “Love makes the world go around!” While you and I see so much hate around the world, we know there is good and we know there is love.  This was my inspiration for this card.

I also added another fun set to this card that is also new called Timeless Textures.  You are going to LOVE this stamp set.  This stamp set will give Gorgeous Grunge a run for it’s money.  Beautiful textures that you could use on ANY card.  Go ahead and add that to your wish list.  You are going to fall in love.

Going Global stamp set, Stampin' Up!

See the grid looking image across the Kraft cardstock above? That image is from the Timeless Textures.  It’s just enough texture to make me grin from ear to ear.

Tips & Tricks-

I wanted to stick with neutrals for the most part with this card so I used Soft Sky, Whisper White and Kraft cardstock.  I added a little bit more color by using Soft Suede Ink on the Kraft cardstock.

I spritzed the doily with water and Mint Macaron re-inker.  I added little more spritz using an Aqua Painter and Delightful Dijon re-inker.  This was done VERY sparingly.  Once this was dry I stamped on the doily using the grid texture stamp from Timeless Textures using Soft Suede Ink.

Another little helper- the sequins I used come from the Hello December Project Life Kit.  I love these sequins. They are bigger than our catalog sequins and have a cutely design on them.

Teaser- do you see the texture embossing… it’s a beauty.

Going Global

I would definitely consider this set on  your wish list for the upcoming catalog.  It’s going to be a set that many will fall in love with.

I realize none of these sets can be purchased right now, but you can still get your hands on them.  All demonstrators will have the opportunity to pre-order stamp sets and other products from this new catalog starting December 3rd.  It’s a great time to become a demonstrator and get your hands on this new catalogs products AND the Sale-a-Bration products too.  You have no obligation to do anything else.  You get to pick all of your products in your starter kit.  Truly a win win.  Click HERE to see more information on starting your journey with Stampin’ Up!  and become a part of one of the best stamping communities around.

Before I Go-

I wanted to share a Fall card with you today.  This card uses the Vintage Leaves stamp set on page 88 in the catalog.

Vintage Leaves stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I used a sponge dauber on the leaves with Pool Party, Delightful Dijon, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze inks.  Once I sponged all over the leaves with the three colors I stamped them on Whisper White cardstock and die cut them using the Leaflets Framelits.  Next I dipped the leaves into my VersaMark pad and then added a little Gold Embossing Powder.  Heat them up and you will never get the same look twice.  Such a fun technique and beautiful result.

Vintage Leaves stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks-

You can see a small circle burlap piece beneath the button.  I die cut the burlap ribbon using one of my circles framelits.  I loved how rustic this makes the card look.  Just that small element.

OnStage Tampa Florida

OnStage Tampa Florida

Howdy from Tampa Florida!

It’s a miracle that Cathy and I made it here.  She arrived from Colorado to sunny Florida in her snow boots on Wednesday.  She quickly unpacked her flip flops in the car and did a quick switch.  We sat up WAY too late catching up on everything on Wednesday night and had grand plans to be on the road headed to Tampa by 9am.  At 1:30 pm we were on our way.

This is true Kimberly fashion.  In fact I will tell you that you would never want me as your travel agent.  I didn’t have our hotel secured until 3 days prior.  Yes.  That’s how I roll.  I figure it shouldn’t be a problem finding a place and as long as it doesn’t have bed bugs we will be fine.  I’m amazed that Cathy continues to give me the responsibility of our travel plans but she knows it always works out.

The Drive

Our 7 hour drive turned into 9 hours since we decided to stop at every Starbucks along I-10 and I-75 to keep the red cups in service.  We also bought all the ornaments that are now available and 2 new coffee cups.  Russ is going to kill me.

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

We traveled in our active wear and I’m pretty sure our family would have been mortified to have been seen with us.  We were comfortable, highly caffeinated, and laughed until the next potty spot.

Arrival into Tampa was uneventful since it was LATE but things became pretty exciting once we arrived at our hotel.  I thought for sure the Queen herself had arrived.  This hotel is incredible.  For a girl that booked only 3 days ago and kept things pretty cheap… we SCORED!

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

The Floridan Hotel has only been renovated for maybe a year.  The inside of this hotel is vintage and SO pretty.  I’m in love. Besides the bed, this is one of my favorite things I found in the hotel.

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

We hit the bed pretty quickly Thursday night.  Well, Cathy fell asleep… I was bored and decided to go to sleep.

We had plans to get up and check out Tampa but decided that sleep was more important and rolled out of the bed around 11am.  This was fine as we only had one BIG thing on our agenda- pedicures.  By the looks of the nail technicians upon arrival, our feet scared them.

Playtime

They did magic on our feet.

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

We did many U-Turns in downtown Tampa.  Saw this sign below and had to take a picture for Brandon.  (Cathy did- I don’t want my mom to think I was driving and taking photos at the same time!)

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

Primp & Run

We hurried back to the hotel so I could primp and then run to the Centre Stage event tonight.  Cathy and I had to separate for a bit which I hated but she made the most of it by taking a run around Downtown Tampa.  Meanwhile, I mingled with the leaders at the event.  The tables were decorated beautifully and the evening was quaint.  My lips are sealed right now on the “happenings” here at OnStage.  I can’t wait to share when I can. The decor was beautiful.  The gifts… SQUEAL. Stampin’ Up! always knows how to spoil.  Oh my W.O.R.D!

OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up! OnStage Tampa, Stampin' Up!

Let me say this…

I love being a demonstrator.  I love love love what I do, I love the people surrounded by me, and I love being able to share with YOU.

I’m so excited to see my team tomorrow.  They are coming from all over the US.  Many will be at other locations so we will be together in spirit.

I’ll keep you posted.  XOXOXO
