Digital Layout- Double Layout

It’s Monday and it’s time for a digital layout.  I haven’t shared a digital layout in quite some time.  I’ve been trying to keep busy in my craft room with paper and getting caught up on cards.  It was awesome to sit at my computer and create.  I decide to work on one of my favorite albums, The Book of Me.  You can read all about this album HERE.
Double Layout, Digital Scrapbooking

As you may recall, every Monday Heather and I post a digital challenge on our Facebook Group.  This group has been amazing and if you have a love for digital scrapbooking or digital anything I encourage you to check it out.  Challenges are organized thanks to our members.  We even have a member organizing the photos of the challenges.  Truly Heather and I are grateful for this group.  It’s spectacular and so much sharing.  Join the group today and learn how to use My Digital Studio.

For this digital layout I used the Be Yourself Digital Kit.  I added a bit of the Family Fun digital kit for the stitching.   I used the font sf Straight Up and sf Pierce.  Love both of these handwriting fonts.

Make sure to check out Heathers layout HERE and then join the challenge this week by creating a double layout and posting to our Facebook Group.  Need inspiration? Pop on over there and see the great inspiring digital layouts.

One last thing to share.  I created a layout for Valentines Day for the MDS Design Team and wanted to share with you.  Plus go see what all of the Design Team created HERE.  WOWSA.  Great layouts and inspiration again!!

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

This first card was created by my friend Amy Celona.  I love the Gorgeous Grunge paired with the Creative Elements stamp set.  Plus the colors are just beautiful.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

This beautiful card was created by Rosemarrie Gonzalez. The Giggle Greetings stamp set is sure to make someone giggle with the quirky greetings.  I love the Linen Thread on the little clip and paired with the Gingham Garden DSP was perfect.  It looks like the image sits on a tablecloth.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

I love this card Dawn Bourgette created using one of my favorite designer papers- Eastern Elegance.  I love how she layered all the elements and stamped on the Cotton Ribbon.  The elements are pefectly placed for a shabby chic look.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

I believe this card was made from my friend Tiffany Bauer. ???  Washi Tape and the Flower Shop stamp set.  Oh I love his flower set. I'm not a big flower fan but I love this card because it coordinates with the Pansy Punch and makes stamping fast and fun.  NO cutting.  I love how bright and cheerful this card is.   The last detail on this card is what I just fell in love with… the random rhinestones. BEE-utiful!

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

Vicki Wu created this beauty with this FANTASTIC stamp set Beautifully Baroque.  She also used my favorite Designer Paper Eastern Elegance.  This card just jumps at me with it's elegance.

Stampin' Up!, Be Inspired

Lastly, Tracy Geisz made this card above.  Gorgeous watercoloring and I loved the colors she used.  She used the Secret Garden stamp set and this card is just stunning.  The beauty of this stamp set is the matching framelit (Secret Garden) that coordinates with it.

Thank you to these ladies for swapping with me.  They are just beautiful! Be inspired & create.  I'd love to hear what you think about these cards too.

Today  the big truck is loading all of our precious cargo.  We are almost ready to exit Virginia and head home to Flordia.

Today was a rough day of goodbyes.  It's the hardest part of moving.  The hardest today was seeing Alexis say goodbye to her besties.  She handled it WAY better than I did.

We have also been a little emotional today over one of our beloved pets.  My sweet kitty Shelby has not been well for awhile. We sat the kids down and talked about our options.  Shelby is 16 and her quality of life just isn't what it use to be.  We will take her to the vet to be put down today.  Not what we needed during this move, but I know she would not make the drive. Our hearts are broken as a part of our family leaves us.

Shelby

How to Survive a Move!

Moving… I think I could write a book on it by now.  If you've moved across country before you know this is not an easy task and you really need a survival kit.

Since the packers finished their 3 day job in 1 day we had a day of rest.  Okay, that's not really true.  It's more like a day of clean up. Russ was taking down fish tanks and doing man stuff.  I was doing a little digital scrapbooking since every time I went to do something I couldn't… it's packed. For instance,  pour a bowl of cereal but there are no bowls!  Tried to be super mom and cook chicken nuggetts, but the pans are packed! GRR.

Funny how quickly I forgot we needed camping gear for the next 3 days.

No worries about the kids.  They are perfectly fine.  Having the time of their lives.  So it seems anyways!

How to survive a move

Sometimes it's good to take a snoozie on boxes.

How to survive a move

Then wake up feeling like you are on top of the world!

How to survive a move

This is how I feel about the entire thing. DONE!  I'm ready to GO!

How to survive a move

Then you have Brandon who has become a piece of our furniture.

How to survive a move

Then you have Russ all smiley face for a bit….

Then find him like this 5 minutes later….

How to survive a move

The key to surviving any of this is staying positive, laughing a lot and remembering that we are making really fun memories along the way.

Speaking of memories.  While Russ was working I played a bit.

I decided to have a little digital fun.  You will notice on this page I used a few outside digital art pieces from another company.  If you didn't know you could do this with My Digital Studio… you CAN!

It's a great option I love because My Digital Studio is so user friendly.  Like I said before, this is so much easier to use than other photography editing programs.  Regardless, the process is what I love and I love capturing fun memories and going back for a good laugh.

My friend Deb and I had a great time taking selfies in Salt Lake.  We captured our personalities well.  I just love her.

Make Gift Giving EASY!

Gift Giving, Stampin' Up!

It's not every year at convention that I can make little roomie gifts but this year was different.  I always love to give little gifts to my friends and family.

Making gifts can be a big task, however these amazing Mini Muslin Bags from Stampin' Up! make the task fast and simple.

These Mini Muslin Bags will be available on August 1st from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  8 Bags come in a package.  Once you dress up the bags and add a little treat your gift giving is complete.

A few quick ideas for these Mini Muslin Bags:

  • Stamp an image on the front of them using an Acrylic Paint or Pigment Ink.
  • Put a few treats inside the bag, tie and stamp a quick tag.
  • Make a Holiday Countdown using the bags stuffed with a little treat as shown on Page 12-13 of the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Gift Giving, Stampin' Up!

To recreate the bag above:

  • Sew a straight stitch over the Victoria Lace Ribbon and Natural Trim over the 2 1/2" circle punch and Doily.
  • Using a Glue Gun, add a strip of vintage music sheet paper and the new Burlap Ribbon.
  • Stamp a greeting across a piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock and adhere using a Glue Gun.
  • Adhere the embellished Doily onto the Muslin Bag using a Glue Gun.

17 Years Ago I said “I Do!”

Like the ole' saying goes, time flies when you're having fun.  17 years ago I said "I Do!" to an amazing man and military life.

After a very short romance…4 months we decided to head to the court house and say our vows.  Of course this did not go over very well with my Mother in Law at first, but we promised a bigger wedding 6 months later.

While that was a beautiful wedding we've always celebrated July 11th.

I still get butterflies in my belly.

He still makes me giggle like crazy.

He always knows how to make a bad day good.

He is my everything.

Of course let's not get to carried away. He is a man.   He has his moments.  He just doesn't have as many as me.

This is what I fell in love with 17 years ago…

My Everything

I didn't know 17 years ago I would live out the life of my favorite movie… "An Officer and a Gentleman"

an-office-and-a-gentleman

Tell me you watched this movie…

Seriously have watched that movie at least 20 times with my mom.  It wasn't the life I wanted being raised an Army brat.  Today I wouldn't change it for the world.

***Heart is pitter pattering!***

Here we are at the Justice of the Peace…

There was no time to go buy a dress.  I borrowed my dress from my mom.  My wedding band came from Wal-mart as we drove to the court house.  I still wear it today.

I Do (1)

Such great memories and many more to come.  I'm looking forward to this next move and our adventures in Pensacola.  Everything is coming full circle as we travel back to where we met.

Before I go I have a card to share.

 Bootiful Occasions, Stampin' Up!

This card was made using Washi tape and the Silhouette Cameo.  Very similar to the card I posted Monday.  Click HERE if you missed it.
