Merry Cafe Artisan Hop

Merry Cafe Artisan Hop

It’s hard to believe this is the last Artisan Blog Hop!!  Two amazing years and today will mark the last one.  I have to giggle just a little bit over the last card I’m sharing with the Artisan team.  My card screams KIMBERLY!! We are sharing the Merry Cafe Stamp Set, and you know yours truly loves her coffee.

Merry Cafe Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

Being on this team the last two years has brought so much joy. It’s stretched my creativity many many times and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share what I love with you. I could get big time sappy, but I think you know how I’ve felt about this team and Stampin’ Up!  It’s been a fantastic journey.

Before I give the details on this card, I also noticed another big milestone.  I’ve been blogging for TEN years.  How in the world did that happen!  Alexis was almost 4  years old. She was so little.  If you are new to my blog, I’m grateful you are here, and you can go back and read many many many stories.  Ten years is a long time.  It all started with a cross-country move from Jacksonville, FL to Colorado Springs, CO.  I wanted a simple way to share my love for stamping with my customers.  What a milestone December 2017 brings.  Thank you to the many many readers for always reading and your encouragement.

The Details

Merry Cafe Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!

Let’s get to the details about this card.

I’m a huge coffee drinker!  When a coffee stamp set is available, it’s automatically going to be a purchase made by me.  What I love about this stamp set is how it coordinates with the other coffee set in our Annual Catalog.  Having the framelits available also makes it even more convenient to use with both stamp sets.

I used the Burlap Stamp Set on the Crumb Cake cardstock to add texture to my background.  This is a perfect stamp set for any background you want to create.

Using my markers made creating the greeting with different colors super easy and gave the greeting a little pop of color.  Markers are a wonderful coloring tool to use, especially if you are just beginning.  You can have all of Stampin’ Up!’s beautiful colors.  Make sure to check out our Markers.

I also love the Stitched Felt Embellishments! These add the perfect touch to any project and they are fairly flat for the ease with mailing.

Simple & Sweet Layers

Of course, keeping to my true myself… I added many layers of designer series paper.  I love how you can mix and match our designer papers to create fun and festive projects.  You can see my supplies at the bottom of this post in the clickable links.

Lastly, no card of mine is complete until I add the signature Delicate White Doily to the card.  I can’t help it, I love these doilies and I love how they add so much sweetness to any card.

Hot Chocolate, Anyone?

Hot Chocolate, Anyone?

It’s time for another Artisan Blog Hop and I’m going to pretend that we are all having hot chocolate or coffee together as you hop along this inspirational hop of creativity.

If you’ve been with me for awhile you know I have a love affair for coffee and my favorite place to have coffee is Starbucks.

It’s probably no surprise that when I opened the new Occasions Catalog I found a few stamp sets that go along with my coffee obsession.

I’m excited to share how I’ve incorporated 3 new stamp sets and a framelit to create these fun projects.

Come, Let Us Sit Together

First, can I tell you how awesome this greeting is- “Come, let us sit together…”? I can think of numerous projects with this ONE greeting from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

Create it!

I thought it would be fun to create a card and a little pocket for a hot chocolate or instant coffee pack.

To create this card I used the Cup & Kettle Framelits Dies to die cut the coffee cup.  The coffee cup was die cut twice and layered onto each other to make the die cut a tad thicker.

The coffee cup  was stamped with the Sunburst Sayings stamp set using the tiny dots.  I sponged around the coffee cup just a bit to give it a little more definition.

To create my “foam” or “whip cream” I used the cloud image from the Balloon Celebration stamp set stamped with Sahara Sand ink.  I fussy cut each of the clouds and then sponged very lightly around each of them.  I layered the images onto the front and back of the coffee cup to also add a bit more definition using a dimensional.  Another fun step for the whip cream was adding a little bit of shimmer using the Clear Wink of Stella pen.

A small detail was adding the antiqued silver spoon from the Have a Cuppa Embellishments.  OH MY WORD! Ca-utness x 100.

Another fun but small detail is adding the “coffee stain” onto the Crumb Cake Circle punch.  This was created using the Timeless Textures stamp set.  <MUST HAVE!>

You might notice this doily is smaller from the normal doilies I use.  This doily comes from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit.  They are so CUTE and fit the 2-1/2″ Circle punch perfectly in the center.

I thought it would be fun to have a little pocket for a hot chocolate pack or instant coffee.  This was easily created using the Gift Card Envelope and Trims Thinlits.  PERFECTION.

Create it!

To create this cute little pocket, simply die cut using the Gift Card Framelit.  Assemble the gift card as normal except take the top flap and adhere to the back using a dimensional as seen below.

For the front, cut another piece of cardstock the same color as you die cut to measure 2-3/4 x 4.  Attach to the front of the gift card using Tear Tape.  This will create your pocket.

I kept the front rather simple but the same theme as the card to coordinate.

Will You Join Me?

Yes, we may be miles and miles away but today we can pretend that we had a cup of Hot Chocolate together or coffee.  From the looks of the weather a nice cuppa hot would keep us all warm.

As always, I’m tickled that so many of these new stamps and framelits coordinate so great together making creating effortless.

Time to Hop!

It’s time to grab a cuppa something and hop to see what the other Artisans have created.  Keep in mind there are 20+ creative projects to be seen from all over the WORLD.  Because this is a global hop, I highly recommend using Google Translate to read some the Artisans blogs from other countries.  You might need it to read my southern lingo.  HA HA HA.

Next on the hop is one of my favorite Canadians Krista Frattin.  She is someone I would LOVE LOVE to sit and have a cuppa joe with.  Let’s see what she created…

Creative Explosion- Stampin’ Up!

Creative Explosion- Stampin’ Up!

Oh boy! There has been a creative explosion in my studio!   It’s been awhile since I last posted.  I was afraid I wouldn’t know how the buttons worked since my blog updated a few times since the last entry.

My intention was not to take a break in the blog world however it happened because I am EXCEPTIONAL at overloading my schedule and forget that I have children who need me to taxi them ALL the time.

The good news is I might have some control over my life again. The things I overloaded my schedule with are/were good for my soul.  I started teaching a bible study at my church and love love love it.  It’s taken up a bit more time than I had imagined but again my heart is happy.

I could bore you with all the other crazy news but I don’t think it’s necessary.  The quick update is everyone is alive.  Sometimes these people in my house get a little out of hand.  Not naming names… just saying.  Russ continues to get stronger.  He’s hitting a few road blocks in his therapy.  Very frustrating.  We continue to encourage and know that God will provide.

The last two weeks have been the busiest and the BEST.

There is something to be said about getting with your girlfriends and crafting together.  My girlfriend Cathy traveled here to Pensacola and then we took off for Orlando for Stampin’ Up!’s Leadership conference.  There we met with our other two bestie’s Terri and Deb.  Oh what a dream vacay that was.  4 girls in a condo crafting like a bunch of school girls.

After Leadership Cathy and I came back to Pensacola and she stayed another week with me.  We crafted EVERY single night until at least 2 AM.  Overall we created 52 projects that we couldn’t be more proud of.  Some of our projects were a collaborative effort and some we came up with on our own and always made doubles so we each had one.  Let’s just say Cathy’s suitcase is HEAVY.

First I want to share one of our favorite projects that we collaborated on.

Coffee Anyone?

You know I’m a complete coffee lover and so is Cathy.  We had to play with this set. It’s been awhile.
Perfect Blend, Stampin' Up!
We were pretty excited about this card because of the fun texture we added.  We used the Stampin’ Up! Decorative Mask Hearts & Stars and added Modeling Paste over the mask.  This is how we created the hearts on the Kraft cardstock.  Once the modeling paste dried (which is pretty quick) we used a very fine paint brush (Sponge Dauber would work too) to add Gold Encore Ink to a few of the hearts.

Perfect Blend, Stampin' Up!

Next was just adding the layers we wanted to add a little curb appeal to the card.  Things such as Fancy Foil Gold Designer Vellum – delicious, don’t you think? It’s just a simple banner underneath the coffee cup but love how the hearts blend right in.

We added the words “Coffee” using my new favorite tool- the Alphabet Rotary stamp.  I’ve had this little gem for a long time but hated using it until I had seen it in action at Leadership.  Now I’m hooked.

Blendabilities were used to color the coffee cup using Pink Pirouette.  I love the soft look of this pink.

The extra zing for this card used the stamp set You Plus Me.  This set has 2 little arrows that are adorable.  We highlighted one of them to show up through one of the hearts.  SO fun.

You can see all the supplies for this card below.

I have MUCH more to share so stay tuned.

Also, a new Stamps in the Mail is coming.  It’s ready to go just need to fine tune the details.

Tomorrow I am going to share FUN Valentines project. You might SQUEAL!!!
