Eastern Palace

I love when Stampin’ Up! releases new products out of the blue.  It creates a ton of excitement for everyone! Today the Artisan Team, and I have the pleasure of showcasing the new Eastern Palace Suite that will be available to customers on May 1st.

A few tidbits for customers and demonstrators looking to get their hands on this beautiful suite…

For customers: “Here is a sneak peek of the Eastern Palace Suite. Exclusive for a limited time are the Starter and Premier Bundles, designed for both the beginning and avid crafters.”

For demonstrators: “Preorder the Eastern Palace Suite Starter and Premier Bundles April 4-30. Get your hands on these colorful and exotic products to prepare for customer launch May 1.”

Beautiful Patterns

Love at first glance, the biggest thing that caught my eye with the Eastern Palace Suite is the gorgeous designs in the designer paper.  Not to mention the color combinations which showcases new In-Colors.

I love the touches of gold added to this card.

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Tips & Tricks

  • Most noteworthy, this stamp set has many gorgeous images that are perfect for creating beautiful medallions. You can see that I added a few stamped images to the card that were also die cut to add more emphasis.
  • The color combination I chose for this card uses Gold from the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper, Fresh Fig Cardstock and Classic Stamp Pad, and lastly Bermuda Bay cardstock.  I love how the Bermuda Bay looks so vivid on the Fresh Fig cardstock.

Add Gold Accents

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

  • The gold florals are from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers. These are beautiful and coordinate perfectly.
  • Lastly, I added Gold Metallic Thread under the Bermuda Bay die cuts as well as Gold Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Lovely Circles

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

At first glance of the new Lemon Lime Twist In Color, I thought it was bright and cheerful, but totally not a color that I would see myself using.

Then, of course, I started playing around with it.  Now I can’t stop using it.

You’ve been there, right?

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Honestly, I’m blown away by the different color combinations you can create with the Lemon Lime Twist.  It’s going to be an outstanding color to use this coming year.

Consequently, while I love all of the beautiful images in the Eastern Beauty stamp set, the fonts used for the greetings are a highlight for me.  Plus I love all of the greetings.

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Tips & Tricks

  • I stamped the circle images onto Crumb Cake cardstock using Whisper White Craft ink.  To speed up the drying time, I simply used my heat tool over the images.
  • The greeting was stamped using the new In Color, Tranquil Tide.  Tranquil Tide has a lovely blue-green hue and I’m sure will be a big hit this year.  After stamping the greeting, I  die cut the image using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • Lastly, the designer paper was folded to create a unique banner for this card.

Fall In Love

Typically I do not showcase three cards for a hop, but I couldn’t stop using this stamp set and wanted to make sure I showed you how beautiful the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies are.

Eastern Palace, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Tips & Tricks

  • To create the medallion I stacked three of the thinlits together and ran them through the Big Shot using Shimmer Paper. Once die cut, I used my Aqua Painter and Lemon Lime Twister ink and watercolored gently over the medallion.  I loved how this turned out.
  • I placed a 3 x 3 piece of the designer paper behind the medallion to add more color.

  • Additionally, each of the star images I stamped used the new Fresh Fig Classic Ink.  I also used this same color for the card base.
  • Lastly, I placed a piece of the designer paper along the left side of the card.  The color in the designer paper created a nice contrast to the color combinations.

Again, I have to say I’m in love with the Eastern Palace Suite and the new colors that are getting ready to launch.

Fun with Basket Bunch

Basket Bunch

Happy Thursday!

Before I dive into the Artisan blog hop for today, I thought I would let you know where I’ve been.  Not much creativity has happened over the last few weeks.

What’s Happening!

Last Wednesday my dad had surgery to repair a hernia.  Since then it’s been one complication after another, and he’s still in the hospital.  My family has been taking shifts to be there with my dad during his entire hospital stay.  I’ve been there at night with him.  Night shifts bring me back to my nursing days years and years ago.  I worked many night shifts back in the day.  However, I was much younger and didn’t have kids.  Needless to say, my body only wants to sleep ALL the time when I’m not with my dad.

I keep praying that we will see a change for the better.  It’s been a roller coaster ride.

Chocolate & Bunnies

Thankfully I had this Artisan project done way ahead of time to share.  I haven’t stamped anything in a few weeks with Alexis competition schedule and now my dad.

I’m sharing a fun project using the Basket Bunch stamp set with the Basket Builder Framelits.  This bundle is so fun and has the cutest little images.

Basket Bunch, Artisan, Stampin' Up!

I love the color combination of  Mint Macaron with Kraft cardstock.  That little bunny sure makes a statement.

Favors using Basket Bunch

I wanted to create a simple party favor for Alexis to hand out to her friends at school.  I love that I can still do this.

Basket Bunch, Artisan, Stampin' Up!

Creating these are super simple.  I used the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Series Paper and wrapped in a cone shape.

Tips & Tricks

Keeping them together is easy using the Tear and Tape Adhesive.  Once the cone was created I folded the top over,  stacked the two doilies together and lastly stapled the Sale-a-Bration ribbon over the doilies.  I love the soft pastel color combinations the designer series paper offers.  I added a simple banner across the top and of course a little bunny.

The finishing touch was the tassel.  This tassel comes from the Cupcakes & Carousels Embellishment Kit.

Basket Bunch, Artisan, Stampin' Up!

I simply tied the tassel around the ribbon using Linen Thread.

Of course, don’t forget to fill your bunny cone favor with a fun chocolate or jelly beans.

You can see all of the products I used for this project below in the clickable links.

I hope you have enjoyed this little Easter project for today.  There are many more projects to see from our Artisan Team.  Simply click the button below and enjoy the blog hop.  First up is Louise Sharp.  I’m sure she will have something amazing to share.

Lift Me Up-Artisan Blog Hop

Lift Me Up-Artisan Blog Hop

Exciting blog hop today with the Artisan Team using the Lift Me Up Bundle.  I love hot air balloons and this set not only has beautiful balloon images, but it also has great greetings to go with it.

On Cloud Nine!

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

I’m definitely on cloud 9 with this card.  One of the tools I used to inspire me when creating this card was pattern paper.  The coordinating paper, Carried Away,  is filled with bright, beautiful colors.

The Carried Away Designer Paper Pack is FREE with a $50 purchase from any of our current Stampin’ Up! catalogs.  You can find this paper on page 7 of the Sale-a-Bration catalog.

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

I would have never paired these colors together on my own.  I love how we can be inspired by different pattern papers or by using the catalogs from Stampin’ Up!

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Tips & Tricks

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

  • Die cut the clouds using Watercolor Paper and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies.  Once I die cut the clouds, I used Mint Macaron ink and my Aqua Painter to watercolor.
  • I created a unique background by die cutting four squares using the Stitched Shapes framelits and Carried Away Designer Series Paper.  Once these were die cut, I attached each of squares onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using dimensionals.
  • Lastly, I created a fun look by die cutting the intricate balloon image from Whisper White cardstock.  After die cutting, I positioned the balloon onto Watermelon Wonder cardstock and die cut using Stitched Shapes largest circle die cut.

Using Subtle Tones

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

I decided to use more subtle tones for my second card still using the Carried Away Designer Series Paper.

Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

Tips & Tricks

  • Crumb Cake cardstock is a perfect color to add with any of Stampin’ Up! coordinates with all colors.  I used White Craft Ink to stamp the balloon image.  Make sure the ink is completely dry before die cutting.
  • To create a rolled edge on the banner, wrap the cardstock around your Paper Piercing Tool.  To keep the cardstock in place, add a Mini Glue Dot to the end.
  • Create layers by using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Sale-a-Bration Inspiration

Today’s Artisan blog hop is an explosion of Sale-a-Bration inspiration.

Let’s face it, Sale-a-Bration is a huge hit this year with a fantastic product line up.

I love looking on Pinterest and seeing all of the great ideas.  I’m even more excited to see what the Artisan team has up their sleeves today.  Let’s get busy.

Avant Garden

When I saw the samples in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, I couldn’t wait to use the Avant Garden stamp set.

Typically I don’t reach for a floral set, but the samples were so inspiring I couldn’t wait to ink this set myself.

Sale-a-Bration Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Avant Garden

First thought when I inked up this gorgeous flower was water coloring.  I love how this card turned out with a few simple water coloring techniques.

Tips & Tricks

Sale-a-Bration Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Avant Garden

  • Create a watercolor wash using Crumb Cake ink and Aqua Painter onto the Watercolor Paper (2-1/2″ x 4″) first.  Let the ink absorb and dry.
  • Stamp flower image using Archival Basic Black ink then watercolor image using Pear Pizzaz and Flirty Flamingo inks. Stamp the dots image over flower image using Crumb Cake ink.  To achieve a soft look, I stamped off several times before stamping over the flower.
  •  Tear the bottom of the Watercolor paper and curl one end. I like to use my Aqua Painter to saturate the paper, making tearing very easy.  Once torn, attach this piece to another piece of Watercolor Paper measuring 2-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ using dimensionals.
  • Stamp greeting and die cut using Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Attach with a small doily and twine underneath the die cut.

Finally, attach the watercolor paper to your card front of Whisper White (3-3/4″ x 5″) and then onto your Whisper White thick cardstock base (4-1/4″ x 11″).

Solid Flower Image

I wanted to try my inking hands using the solid flower image, and I love how this card came out.

Sale-a-Bration Inspiration, Stampin' Up!, Avant Garden

I kept this card pretty simple, so the focus was on the beautiful flower.

Tips & Tricks

  • The flower was stamped using Calypso Coral ink, then watercolored around the image using Sahara Sand.
  • I fell in love with the beautiful Metallic Ribbon on page 11 of the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  Not only does is look fantastic with the shiny gold and silver accents, but also it’s very pliable.   I’m totally impressed, and this is FREE (one silver, one gold) with a $50 purchase.
  • Lastly, the Petal Burst embossing folder was a perfect background addition for this card.

Sealed With Love-Artisan Blog Hop

Sealed With Love

Today marks the first official Artisan Blog Hop for the 2017 Artisan Team.

How appropriate to start off the Artisan year using the Sealed with Love stamp set.

Sending Love Suite

If you are looking to send the sweetest Valentine ever, the Sending Love Suite is the perfect solution.

One of my favorite products in this sweet are the Love Notes Framelits Dies.  Specifically, the arrow dies.

I’ve always been a fan of arrows and they are still very trendy in the crafting and fashion industries.

Sealed With Love, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Design Team

Tips & Tricks

  • Alternate the arrow die cuts along the Kraft cardstock (3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″).  Place the Kraft cardstock onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock using dimensionals.
  • Stamp the greeting onto Kraft cardstock using Whisper White Craft Ink.  Let the ink dry or use a heat tool to speed up the drying process.  Die cut the greeting using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  (These are NOW available! Click HERE to purchase!)

Sealed With Love, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Design Team

  • Finish off this card by stamping the four heart images and die cut the image. Next, add a piece of twine from the 5/8″ Burlap Twine and the Very Vanilla Lace Trim and staple together.  Add a Mini Paper Clip for another fun embellishment.

Try this color combination for Valentines.

Hello Love

I have one more fun card to share.

This time I used a more traditional Valentine color combination.

Sealed With Love, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Design Team

The Sending Love Designer Series Paper has beautiful patterns to choose from and not all are Valentines related.  My favorite pattern was used on this card- Valentine word art.

Sealed With Love, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Design Team

Another favorite used was the This Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I use the music notes in this paper frequently.  It’s perfect for so many paper crafting projects and especially for a “love note!”

Make sure to check out this post HERE with more Valentines inspiration including a fun box and Valentine card.
