Even here in CA that size quake is a pretty big one and definitely can cause some damage…so happy to hear that everyone is fine! Must be horrible to actually hear what your Prince has to go through – bad enough imagining it…and I agree that it was good that the kids were not with you at that moment. You are so good at making everything good for your kids and hubby….and hope our small comments and virtual hugs and caring help you since you are doing all of this alone for a few more months.

Hi Kim, So glad to hear that you are all okay! We used to live in Alexandria VA and also DC for 3 1/2 years. When we were there we actually experienced a Tornado, although they claimed it was just straight line winds. Still to this day, I'm not buying that one. So I can't imagine going through an earthquake there! Keeping the fingers and toes crossed that you manage to miss the huricane. Stay safe. Thinking about you ! It was so nice to meet you at convention. I even posted our pic on my blog. Sue who was always looking for Dawn B.

So glad you are all safe & no damage! I live in CT and we felt it! I thought I was having a dizzy spell or going crazy until my coworkers started grabbing their purses and evacuating our building. We are in line for Irene too so I am praying that we will all be spared and it will blow out to sea. We don't need any more excitement, do we?! I read y our blog faithfully, Kim. I don't know anyone else in VA either but I did think of you and your kids. I am so relieved you are all okay. I pray Irene steers clear of the east coast too. I don't know if you've been thru hurricanes but I've seen 3 since moving to Milton, Fl. (just outside Pensacola) I can live without more. You and your family are in my thoughts and I pray the wait for the Prince to come home goes by quickly!

Wow, we felt the earthquake here in London Ontario and it freaked me out here. I can't imagine what it felt like there!! Great that you remained calm and especially with kids around!! Last week a tornado took out a town near us (Goderich Ontario) and earthquake yesterday and now hurricane Irene is on the way. What is up with Mother Nature??!!
