Dear Brandon, I just wanted to to tell you that I am sorry you felt bad when you did not recieve a ribbon. Your Mom said that you struggled a litlle bit in your archery class because you needed a litlle bit more strength, but that you worked very hard and you did not quit. Sometimes not quitting takes the most strength of all. You should be very proud of yourself. I am proud of you.

Kimberly – your post today really touched my heart. It is hard for a child or anyone to be left out, be one of the last one picked or to not receive an award. Your words for Brandon were encouraging and I hope they helped him. Even more so I love that you teach your children from experience. Please share with Brandon that the true rewards in life come from within ourselves. If he had fun, did his best during his archery program and learned – then he was rewarded, by his parents and himself. Ribbons and trophies are just material things – true rewards come from the heart.
And by the way, your card today is gorgeous!

Aww, that makes me so sad too hearing about your little guy. I do know how you feel. We feel more pain for our children than we do for ourselves. You just want to take all the pain away and make them feel better. I think you handled it very well.
