Organizing your Stamping Stuff!

You're in for something completely different tonight.  In fact you may just think I've gone over the deep end!  I'm hear to tell you I am Okay! <smile>

Seriously, I believe an organized crafter is a happy crafter.  They (organized Sally Stamper) tend to utilize their craft supplies more because they "know" where it is or it's easily accessible.  The other day I had a complete loss of mojo-ness.  I needed to create because it's just deep in my soul to do it everyday.  It makes me happy.  However the "what" to create wasn't coming very fast.  I had gone to reach for a snail adhesive refill in my stash bin and thought how "NAKeD" the bin was.   I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be cute with a little label!"  I also knew this would be an easy thing to create and possibly get my creative mojo juices flowing. It did indeed!  Let me show you!

First, I have to tell you that there are three supplies this girl will never run out of because I use them DAILY! Snail adhesive, Mini Glue Dots and Dimensionals.  These are staples in my stamp room just as you have Flour, Sugar and Milk in your kitchen. Just sayin'!

Here are my baskets together:

And then the Dots…

Both of these used a few of my basic FUN supplies like Crumb Cake cardstock, Rhinestones and buttons.  The stamp set I used is the Broadsheet Alphabet (#120585).  I love this alphabet.  It's a super set for scrapbooking and hand made cards.  Or… a project like the one above.  So when you have the loss of mojo-ness and you can't find that GREAT supply that you really need… take a few minutes and get organized. There are lots of things I could tackle to be better organized in my stamp room but instead I just tackle a few things at a time.  Don't overwhelm yourself and enjoy the process of creating that pretty organized stash!

The next few days are jam packed with fun days ahead.  My sweet prince has a big birthday on Friday.  It's the big 40! Russ is just 12 days older than me (I call him my elder…) so we kinda celebrate the birthday's together.  I'm working on a special card for him that I can't wait to share.  We are having a big party for him on Saturday.  Super exciting!!  I'll post pictures, not to worry!

Lastly, the other day I had an itch to pull my camera out and take pictures of the beautiful fall leaves here in VA.  I truly think this is the most beautiful fall I've ever seen.  The leaves are just amazing.  While I really did not have time in my day to play photo shoot girl…I'm SO glad I did.  Just looking back at these pictures makes me smile.  Really, it's beautiful here in VA. Take a Peek:

  1. Oh, thank you thank you for posting tree pictures.  I was born and grew up in Northern Virginia and recently moved to Hawaii where the trees are all green. I miss the fall in the East!
I love your blog – your creations are beautiful and your tips are awesome. Thanks for sharing with us.

  2. That's what I miss most about VA!  But we've had similar colors here in CS, CO.  Am amazed by vibrant reds and burgundy leaves this year.

  3. Thank you for sharing the fall pictures!  I miss living in northern va and seeing the beautiful fall colors every day.  NC just isn't the same.  We don't see as vibrant of colors and it usually occurs later in the year.  Thanks for sharing!

  4. Hi Kimberly,
Love the pictures of the trees…Absolutely gorgeous! Also love your organizational bins. Do you keep them pretty much filled to the top? Are they for your personal use only, or do you offer them to your customers as well?
    Thanks for sharing! ;)

  5. Those trees are spectacular.  Who would have thought that trees could change into such beautuful colors!  I too would love to see how you have organized your craft room.  I recently moved and have a new craft room and I need ideas too!

  6. Those pictures make me homesick. Fall is the only time I get that way. I can just smell the crisp air and the leaves. *sighs* We used to love going to get cider and warm donuts from a local cider mill. You'll have to see if there are any around your area. Enjoy the colors. Thanks to the gusty winds, most of our leaves are now on the ground :(

  7. Holy cats! Those trees are awesome! We don't get those kinds of colors so much in Denver. But it is getting more colorful as people bring different varieties of trees into their yards.
I love your little bins! Organizing my stamping supplies is almost as much fun as using them.

  8. Wow!  Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful tree pictures!  Where I live in Texas, there are no fall colors.  Being from Michigan with family in Virginia, I really miss the Autumn colors.

  9. Oh my goodness.  Kimberly, thank you so much for posting the pictures of fall in Virginia. This California girl has never seen anything like this!  Absolutely amazing!

  10. Kimberly OMGosh these trees are gorgeous…the colors are so vibrant. Are they on your property? I love your organization ideas…only problem is I am running out of space….my 8 x 10 room is cluttered….my diningroom is cluttered and my upstairs bedrooms omgosh I cannot begin to tell you I wanted my husband to build me a room but he doesn't want to pay anymore taxes than we are paying….so it was a NO!

  11. Kimberly, those trees are gorgeous!! We have beautiful colours here but they are not as vibrant. I could just sit outside all day taking in all the nature has to offer us at this time of year. This is my favourite season.
Great idea's on organizational. I hope that you will share more with us!!

  12. The fall in the Northeast is quite beautiful isn't it?
Dejavu…I just posted pictures of my driveway depicting the fall in my blog yesterday and guess what I did last night?  Organized my very messy area and here you are blogging about organization…we must be in sync here!!!
    Sending you lots of hugs!!!

  13. LOVE your blog; the pix. are amazing, as always, & the organizational tips…great!! Thanks for all that you share, as I know it's all time consuming.

  14. Wow!  What gorgeous pics!  Thanks for sharing!  I don't get to see that down here in FL.  That's ok, though.  I don't get to see snow either.  LOL

    Your bins are adorable!

    Hugs!
