Occasions Favorites-Must Haves!

Occasions Favorites-Must Haves!

I’m excited to share a few of my favorite Occasion Catalog products with you today and a special treat.

Not only will you see my favorites but you will also see the favorites from stampers around the world.  Today is the Creation Station Blog Hop and our theme is Occasions favorites.  YAY!

Embellished Ornaments, Creation Station Blog Hop

While I don’t make New Years resolutions because I don’t keep them after 2 weeks, I am making it a point to send more cards and one of the occasions that I am the WORST at sending is BIRTHDAY’S!

Yep, you heard it correctly.  The card maker stinks at sending birthday cards.

Even worse, the paper crafter mom stinks at making special paper crafting fun things for my kids birthday parties.  UGH UGH UGH!

Alexis has a birthday coming up and this girls entire life has been around paper crafting.  This year I’m really going to try and make a fun party favor along with getting her invites out on time.

I figure if I tell you then maybe you can help keep me accountable.  Of course I have an almost “13” year old that is on my tale too.  You will see that process soon. Meanwhile….

Balloon Celebration

One of my favorites in the Occasions catalog is the New Balloon Celebration stamp set.  I’ve actually used this stamp set more for coffee related projects you can see HERE.  The good news about this stamp set is the options.  Options are GREAT and we have them with this set.

Here is the first birthday card that I created.

Occasions Favorites, Stampin' Up!, Balloon Celebration

Imagine making a balloon in any color that you want? That’s the beauty of stamping.  Now look how you can bunch the balloons.  This was easily created using the Balloon Bouquet Punch that coordinates with the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

I added the string behind the punched balloons.  Once all the strings (Bakers Twine) were attached I gathered them and tied a bow and let the strings hang down.  The greeting came from the stamp set Sunburst Sayings.

Another favorite that I’ve mentioned several times already is the Wink of Stella pens.  I used the clear Wink of Stella over the balloons to give it a pop of glimmer.

Create a Card & Box

Occasions Favorites, Stampin' Up!, Balloon Celebration

Creating a card and a box that coordinates is easy with the Balloon Celebration stamp set and the Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The clouds in the stamp set coordinate perfect with the stamp set.

To create the box I used the Box Punch Board and used the cloud pattern from the Designer Paper to create it.  This paper is thick and perfect to make boxes.

I kept the embellishments for the box simple by adding Bermuda Bay ribbon and a tag that coordinates with the card.

To create the card, I used the left over paper from creating the box and used the other side of the paper for the card.  When the box is open they will see that the Box coordinates with the card.

The clouds on the card were fussy cut using the left over paper from the box.  Again, perfect coordination.

The balloons are stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock and then punched using the Balloon Boutique punch. I added a few silver sequins on one of the balloons. I added twine to the balloons as I did to the first card and gathered them to tie in a bow.

Get ready because this will be a great catalog for amazing SPRING projects!

Now it’s time to see what the favorites are from other stampers around the world.  Your next stop will be Holly Stene’s Blog.  I can’t wait to see what she created.

  1. Lordy, I could have written that intro myself! I’m a terrible card sender, shocking resolutions keeper (and also have an almost 13 yo myself!)

Love your stuff, as always xo

  2. Love the way you’ve used the Shine On Specialty Paper! It’s a gorgeous, must see in person!

  3. Oh my such fabulous cards. You have used two of my favorite color combos. I mean who doesn’t love pink and black or teal, olive, and kraft? Your last card is my favorite with the strip of newsprint and hand cut clouds! You inspire me always, Elizabeth

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Oh sweet girl–13 is so scary–I think we should start a club! (as in a support club, with wine) Such sweet projects for that sweet girl! Super duper cute–thanks for the inspiration!

  5. As usual – I love all of your projects! These will make for a fab birthday party! Keep on inspiring us!

  6. Fabulous as always!! Now I need to move this set to the top of my wish list, I am really loving your cards!!

  7. You certainly sold me on the balloon set! Just received it and have to get to work! Love all three projects, but the last is my fave! also, I have a little notebook I wrote down birthdays in. Helps me make them right away and get them sent! Sometimes I still forget, but I try to keep it next to my ink – see it every time I make a card!
