Little Notes of Thanks

Today was our "put the tree up" day!  What an ordeal that turned out to be.  For a family that has a fake tree with pre-lit lights… it's only half way up after an afternoon spent replacing lights.  Lucky Russ has more patience than anyone I know because the tree was headed straight for the trash until he decided to "fix" it.  After replacing 100 lights the tree is LIT without decorations.  Maybe later this week our tree will have a few decorations.

I finally made it into my stamp room this afternoon and really needed to get some "Thank You" notes put together.  I have a few projects in the works but no mojo to finish them.  Maybe that will come this week too.  I decided to work on my Thank You's and I wanted them to be a monogram type of Thank You.  Since I needed to make quite a few I kept them on the simple side.  Well… that's what I thought in the beginning and then I started adding more and more…

I started by using our Notecards.  Oh how I love these little things.  20 come in a package with the envelopes and yes you can mail them.  I stamped the Notably Ornate large stamp and in Early Espresso.  The oval image was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder and then popped up using dimensionals.  I then used the Broadsheet Alphabet by stamping the "K" in Early Espresso Craft ink and embossing it with Clear embossing powder.  I cut the image out and also popped that up using dimensionals.  Lots of dimension going on with this card.  This is when the card gets a little crazy too.  I added the "thanks" by using the Fabulous Phrases stamp set, spritzed the entire card with Gold Smooch Spray, felt the need for a button and then Jewels-both Rhinestones and Pearls.  It's all fun in my book.  Small but very Noteworthy!

  1. I had to laugh seeing your story today because it is my story too.  We put up our tree on Friday and it sat there for a day while I thought about what action to take.  Do I trash it or fix it?  Well, needless to say I spent Friday night running around town trying to find the same tree, but at the same low price I originally paid.  No luck, so Saturday off to Walmart to buy one of those tree light testers and repair tools.  After replacing around 40 lights, finally it was lit and I was thankful that I didn't go out and buy a new tree after all.  What gets me is how it can go from working when I took it down last year straight into the box and then bam, 30 plus lights not working because they are burned out.  Anyway, I love checking your blog and your creations and I love your stories.  Happy Holidays!
