When I started playing around with the Candy Cane Christmas Suite, the candies instantly came to mind.

I had to put the idea to the paper test and see if it could come to life.

How To Create Felt Ribbon From Cardstock

How To Create Felt Ribbon From Cardstock

Do you love to learn new techniques? Today I’m dying to share this one.

If you love to add embellishments to cards this technique will be quick and easy.  Even better, it will use a staple product in your craft room.

Create Felt Ribbon, Stampin' Up!

Over the years I’ve created a few videos sharing ideas and tricks on different ways to use ribbon.  No doubt that I’m a huge fan of ribbon and ways to use it.

However, there are times when I’m looking for a certain color or style and I don’t have it.

Creating your own Felt Ribbon out of cardstock is simple and perfect in this type of situation.

If you don’t have a coordinating color of ribbon that fits the style of the card you are creating, hang tight.  There is a solution.

How to Create Felt Ribbon

I love the feel and texture of felt.  The attraction for me is clearly the softness when I touch it.

If you look closely below you will see the pool party cardstock created to look like a ribbon under the tag.

Today I have a short video on how to create this look using a simple piece of cardstock and the Hang Your Stocking stamp set.

Grab a piece of cardstock that measures 1/2″ x 4″ and a bone folder.  Now watch the video and start creating your own felt ribbon from cardstock.

How to Use Sponge Daubers to Color

While creating this card the one thing that came to mind was the Polar Express.

If you have watched the movie you know how significant the bell becomes in the movie.

Today we are creating a little Christmas magic of our own while coloring these beautiful bells using a sponge dauber.

Sponge Daubers can be used a multitude of ways.

Today you will see how to create a soft muted tone of color using the Sponge Dauber.

Project Life by Stampin’ Up!

Project Life by Stampin’ Up!

Project Life blog hop april Header
Thank you for joining us today for our International Project Life by Stampin’ Up! Blog hop. You may be just starting here or have come from Julie’s blog. Either way you can make your way around by using the list below so that you don’t miss a blog. We have and incredible group of talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who wanted to highlight Project life by Stampin’ Up!® Memory keeping. At the moment you are currently in the United States and you are about to go around the world to different locations.

It’s Your Story

If you have followed me for some time you know I’m big into memory keeping.  It goes down as my first love in the papercrafting world.  Currently my family could entertain themselves for hours looking through books and books of their cute little faces and me telling our story.
That’s exactly what it is- your story.
While there are many different ways you can keep those memories alive, Project Life makes it fast and easy.  It’s NOT time consuming and a thrill to look at the completed projects.
Being a fan of Stampin’ Up! products I’ve been thrilled to use the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! for the simple coordination.  While Project Life is incredibly simple, Stampin’ Up! makes it even easier with coordinating products outside of the kits.

Where Do I Start?

Project Life, Stampin' Up!, Kimberly Van Diepen

The big question I’m always asked, where do I start Kimberly?
Here’s the thing- there is no hard fast rule on where you need to start.  Open your camera, pull a few pictures off of it and begin RIGHT THERE.  Sometimes we can over analyze something to the point it keeps us from starting.  Just grab a few pics and start.
Here is a quick guide to help when you get started.  Click HERE to download it.

Let’s Create!

Last night I pulled out my Happy Times Project Life kit and completed three layouts in 20 minutes.  Below you will see a few of the close shots of the layout, keep in mind all of the products came from the Happy Times Project Life Kit and Accessory Pack except for a couple of pieces of ribbon, staples and star punches.

I love to capture the out of the ordinary moments.  Yes, I scrapbook events of things that happen in our family but I also love capturing moments like the ones above.
The Happy Times kit was perfection when it came time to scrapbook these moments.  The cards and accessories are fun and make memory keeping quick and easy.

Printing Your Photos

This past Christmas I started a December Daily album.  The nature of the album is about daily life.  I love this album!  To make my daily story telling easier, I purchased a Canon Selphy so I could print my photos quickly and create a layout every single day.  it was awesome.
I created a quick video on how to print photos from your iPhone using the Project Life App from Becky Higgins.  This would also work for Android users.

Take a Tour- Be Inspired

I hope you’re ready to be inspired by a fantastic crew of designers using Project Life.  Grab a drink and take a stroll around the world.  Next up is my fellow Artisan friend Krista Frattin.  LOVIE her and her work.

3D Box and Christmas Tags

3D Box and Christmas Tags

I’ve been so excited to share this little 3D Box and Christmas Tags with you. They have been sitting on my desk waiting patiently for me to shoot the video so you could create this right along with me.

This box could be used for many things but today I want to share how I created it to hold Tags.

3D Box of Tags, Festival of Trees, Stampin' Up!

When I was rummaging through my stamp cabinet I noticed I had not used the stamp set Festival of Trees once this Christmas Season.  This set was perfect for this project. This is also a bundle which means you can get a great price for the stamp set and the coordinating punch. Just click on the pictures and you can see it directly.

3D Box of Tags, Festival of Trees, Stampin' Up!

I used the Festival of Trees throughout the entire project and added a few embellishments.  You can see all the products  I used in the clickable links below.

Create It!

How about  you create along with me? See how quick and simple this 3D box is to create and I know you can come up with a ton of other uses for this box.

As I stated in the video I wanted to show you all of the tags so you can re-create these as well.  This would make a great gift for a teacher or friend.

3D Box of Tags, Festival of Trees, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

Because these tags are a bit bulky they did not all fit in my box.  Because of the added embellishments I maxed out at 3 tags in the box.

The Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon is a brand new ribbon coming out January 5th.  It’s a beautiful ribbon and easy to work with when making bows.

Here are each of the tags below:

It’s your turn.  I hope you enjoy the 3D box and the tags created for it.  I can’t wait to hear what you create.  Make sure to tell me.  I love when you share your creativity with me.
