We have the Fevah!
I received that call today from the nurses office that I always dread. Alexis was still complaining of a headache and running a fever of 102.5! WHAT? She was completely fine this morning! I got to the school in 5 minutes and couldn't believe what I was seeing. That poor girl looked pitiful. She was crying. A little scared because she felt so bad. I scooped her up and got her comfy at home. This all happened around 2pm. About an hour and a half later I picked up Brandon from the bus stop. I could tell from the moment his little feet hit the pavement he was not doing well. Same thing…. Headache. I touched him and he was on fire. Temp=103.5! WOW! He was crying, too. When I asked him why the tears he said he was upset that he wouldn't get the perfect attendance award. I didn't have the heart to tell him he would NOT be receiving this award anyways. Both my little gems will be going on a cruise to Alaska with MOMMY this year. My kids have no idea yet. Looks like I may have to let the cat out of the bag soon.
So tonight I had to put my nurse hat on! Did you know that I was a nurse? Yes, I was a Registered Nurse for many years. I was one of those nurses who became burned out and stressed out. I needed something fun and direct sales was a great fit for me and better yet… Stampin' Up! has been the PERFECT fit! If you have ever considered becoming a demonstrator now is the best time! Sale-a-Bration is a great time to join Stampin' Up! This year the deal is even sweeter. You can check out the details HERE and don't hesitate to ask questions. I would love to have you be a part of my AMAZING team.
Since we have the Fevah… I thought it would be best to make a card that screams healthy! Tonight's card has two parts.
The first card is a simple and clean card that has no sponging and few embellishments. This is a card you can make and mass produce in no time.
This card uses the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series Paper, Word Play stamp set and lastly the Ornate Blossom stamp set. The Ornate Blossom is also one of the stamps you can receive for FREE for every $50 you spend in products during Sale-a-Bration. Great set.
Part Two:
I added just a few embellishments to the same card to give it a little more flare. It's amazing what ribbon can do!
With just a little Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon, Vintage Brads and shimmer mist you have another elegant, but simple card.
Make sure you check our my Online Store filled with lots of great products and tools you won't want to miss!
XOXOXO-Time for another Fevah check!
Rockin’ Diva’s!
I recently had the great privilege to recognize some great women on my team. They are my Rockin' Diva's that have really poured themselves into their business and the results showed. It's so exciting to watch as their business grow. One of the things I put in their box this quarter was a recordable card. These are found in the Holiday Mini and they are so much fun. I bought a bunch of these cards for a few reasons. My thought was the possibilities are endless with these type of cards and I could send special messages to anyone. I could sing—->OR NOT! I thought about making some for my kids when they are having a bummed day as a way to lift their spirits. Really, the ideas are endless. For the DIVA's, I wanted them to know they are doing a great job and was excited I could actually say it directly into the card.
I used a few goodies on the card like buttons, chipboard, and punches. Overall, I hope they liked the message. I really thought about singing in a few of them but that really would have HURT their ears! hee hee hee! I'm sure they are thankful.
I have a busy day ahead of me. I am putting the last minute preps on a workshop for tomorrow. I am so excited about this workshop. It means I get to meet new friends and share what I love doing… STAMPING! YIPPIE!!!
Make this weekend a GREAT one!
Organizing your Stamping Stuff!
You're in for something completely different tonight. In fact you may just think I've gone over the deep end! I'm hear to tell you I am Okay! <smile>
Seriously, I believe an organized crafter is a happy crafter. They (organized Sally Stamper) tend to utilize their craft supplies more because they "know" where it is or it's easily accessible. The other day I had a complete loss of mojo-ness. I needed to create because it's just deep in my soul to do it everyday. It makes me happy. However the "what" to create wasn't coming very fast. I had gone to reach for a snail adhesive refill in my stash bin and thought how "NAKeD" the bin was. I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be cute with a little label!" I also knew this would be an easy thing to create and possibly get my creative mojo juices flowing. It did indeed! Let me show you!
First, I have to tell you that there are three supplies this girl will never run out of because I use them DAILY! Snail adhesive, Mini Glue Dots and Dimensionals. These are staples in my stamp room just as you have Flour, Sugar and Milk in your kitchen. Just sayin'!
Here are my baskets together:
Here is the Snail Bin:
And then the Dots…
Both of these used a few of my basic FUN supplies like Crumb Cake cardstock, Rhinestones and buttons. The stamp set I used is the Broadsheet Alphabet (#120585). I love this alphabet. It's a super set for scrapbooking and hand made cards. Or… a project like the one above. So when you have the loss of mojo-ness and you can't find that GREAT supply that you really need… take a few minutes and get organized. There are lots of things I could tackle to be better organized in my stamp room but instead I just tackle a few things at a time. Don't overwhelm yourself and enjoy the process of creating that pretty organized stash!
The next few days are jam packed with fun days ahead. My sweet prince has a big birthday on Friday. It's the big 40! Russ is just 12 days older than me (I call him my elder…) so we kinda celebrate the birthday's together. I'm working on a special card for him that I can't wait to share. We are having a big party for him on Saturday. Super exciting!! I'll post pictures, not to worry!
Lastly, the other day I had an itch to pull my camera out and take pictures of the beautiful fall leaves here in VA. I truly think this is the most beautiful fall I've ever seen. The leaves are just amazing. While I really did not have time in my day to play photo shoot girl…I'm SO glad I did. Just looking back at these pictures makes me smile. Really, it's beautiful here in VA. Take a Peek:
Have a GREAT Thursday!
Simple Little Snowflakes
I guess in reality snowflakes are not very simple. They are these complicated little pieces of beauty that I like to see come and go… FAST! I'm just praying this side of the East Coast doesn't see snow like they did last year. Tonight was a simple night for me. I made it that way. I had quite a few complicated issues that needed to be tended to and I pushed them all to the side so I could make a complicated card. Ahhhh… it's the simple things! Right? Of course one card ended up taking a few right turns but the other one I'm sharing is simple as can be!
If you are a Big Shot fan you will dig this. In the Mini catalog there is a beautiful Decorative Strip for the Big Shot called Northern Frost (#120901). BEAUTIFUL snowflakes that are so delicate. The Decorative Strips are great for card makers and scrapbookers. Check this out:
See how delicate they are? I placed the Antique Brads into the center of each of them and then sprayed it with Shimmer Mist (that's a little Frost Shimmer Paint and Alcohol mixed together). Love this antique look/feel that comes from this card.
Then the night took a few turns and the sewing machine came to life. Here is what happened then:
I layered those delicate snowflakes onto each other and they just made me melt. I sprayed the entire Vanilla cardstock piece with Shimmer Mist which the camera does NOT like to photo. It really makes it look over done and from my eyeball view it's not. Pffft! Then I added the ribbon with the sewing machine and I fell in love with this vintage winter card. <sigh> Overall, very glad I have the Northern Frost Decorative Strip because I see many more cards in my future.
I didn't get a chance to write or create much this weekend as my little family kept me busy. We had a great weekend. I am completely drawn to the fall colors here in Virginia. It's so stunning! I wanted to get a few pics of the kids with the leaves in the distance and here are the little ham bones in action.
The first picture of them running holding hands makes me smile. The best part was they were not "coached" to hold hands. They just did it! This brings a big smile to my face. Now the biggest boy of all didn't get his picture taken because he was a little sad faced. Russ has a new hobby playing with RC planes. It was kinda the reason for going to the big field. I of course had a different agenda! He was so excited to fly one of his planes. We watched it go up…. and immediately right DOWN…in pieces! That's when his face turned pretty sad. Luckily these are not the expensive planes and made just for new RC guys like himself. Needless to say we picked up the pieces and came home. I think Russ is going to practice a little more on the simulator. *smile*
Well thanks so much for stopping by! I hope your week is simply amazing!
Decorating for Halloween
I was so excited yesterday to pull all my Fall decorations out and put them around the house. My stamp room has looked like Fall for about a month, but it felt great to decorate the rest of the house. I fought off putting Halloween decorations up. I love decorating for Halloween because you can find some of the coolest decorations. You can also find them right in your stamp room. Isn't it great to use Stampin' Up! products to decorate your home? This next piece I'm going to show you is something I made for Shelli. Every year at Founders I love watching her stamp and it's always a Halloween theme. I'm also impressed that she is so ahead of the game. Me… NOT so much. Anyways, I know how much she likes this holiday so I wanted to make her something that she could use in her home or in the office. It's over the top with products so I will give you a product list tomorrow. Truth be known I am too lazy to go get my catalog with exact names. <ahhhh>
Using the dimensions I gave you yesterday I made the banner with Naturals Ivory cardstock. This is a great cardstock to use for these types of projects because the cardstock is heavy. <I SO LOVE OUR CARDSTOCK!> I used lots of DSP, Stamps, our Serif Alphabet Die Cuts with my Big Shot. I wanted to keep the project fairly small so I just made a "Boo Banner". The entire thing from start to finish probably took me an hour. My favorite product on this banner was the use of our new baubles. They are so vintage FUN! I love them. I just hung them from the safety pins from our Vintage Trinkets. Easy enough. I think I will have to make my own Boo Banner now.
Today I spent all day with my prince! The past two weeks we haven't seen much of each other since one of us has been out of town. It was so nice to spend the entire day with him. We were able to get lots accomplished around the house and I am starting to feel like this house is coming together. We still have lots to do but it's coming together.
I'm hoping tomorrow brings me a moment to shoot the ribbon video. I know you are patiently waiting…. It's that other job I have that's been keeping me busy…MOTHERHOOD! Jeesh!
I hope your weekend is filled with Fall Fun! There is so much to do here this weekend and not enough time for me to get it all in.
