How Kimberly gets her Groove On!

We made it home yesterday from Florida and it was bittersweet.  I always hate leaving Florida and as you can imagine I was just a MESS coming home.  I despise the goodbyes.  Being a Navy wife, I seem to do them more than I would like.  While I hated to say goodbye it’s always nice to sleep in your own bed again.  It’s also nice to be back in my stamp room.  I was able to sneek away for a couple hours today to work on a few swaps and fun things in between the unpacking.  Once I started to create I had a terrible block of what to stamp.  I quickly turned on my iTunes and the groove of music seemed to get me back in the spirit of stamping.  Not sure why Beyonce or Brittney get my stampin’ juices flowin’, but it does!

I have tons of new fun product in my stamp room and honestly wasn’t sure which I should pick up first.  My friend Lisa reminded me of a VERY fun stamp set we received at Founders that I had locked away. This set will be in the New Catalog and really is GORGEOUS!  It’s called Simple Friendship.  Here is a sample I made with it tonight.  I’m thinking this will be one of my swaps for Leadership.  :)

Here is a closer look and you can see all the layers it has.  It uses a few dimensionals.

I used Baja Breeze and Kraft cardstock with a little Whisper White mixed in.  Yes, you see glitter.  I used Iridescent Ice.  I really tried to stay away from that stuff since my family thinks I wear it now, but I couldn’t help it.  *wink*

One of my New Years Resolutions -that I never keep- is to scrapbook more.  I had this awesome new scrapbooking kit laying on my desk that I really wanted to play with.  Check this out!

This kit is a new Level 3 Hostess Simply Scrappin’ kit.  Of course I don’t have the name of it in front of me, however as you can see it’s a beauty.  The cupcake and stripe paper come from this kit as well as the rub ons and cupcake stamp.  This really got my groove going when I pulled out all that fun stuff.  This page is 8.5 x 11 and the photo size is 5 x 7.  I also used new Designer Hardware called Hooray.  I am crossing my fingers there will be many more of these in the new catalog for us to play with.  Won’t this make scrapbooking even more enjoyable????

My little girl turns six in just a few short days.  I will be at Leadership on her actual birthday so we had a surprise party while down in Florida and now I am planning one here for her little girlfriends to attend.  She is super excited like any six year old should be.

Time for me to work on my swaps.  My time is ticking FAST!

More Scrapbook layouts!

Published by Kimberly under Scrapbooking

Oh boy!  I meant to get these posted yesterday and the day just got away!  It is super cold here.  It was a perfect day for scrapbooking.

Here are a few more pages for my 6 x 6 scrapbook album.  I will also show you the albums I have decorated.  Again, these use no stamping, just Rub Ons.

This layout below I used small felt flurries and rub ons.  I dyed the small White Felt Flurries using a little water and Chocolate Chip re inker.  They soaked there for a little bit and then I let them dry.  I love how these came out.

This album uses Stampin’ Up! Rub on’s directly onto the Linen Album.  Super easy!  What a great way to really personalize an album.

30 Minute Scrapbook Album!

Published by Kimberly under Scrapbooking

Good Saturday morning!  I’ve been working on my 12 days of Christmas for the teachers and I wanted to share a quick Christmas Scrapbook album that will take you literally 30 minutes to put together.  There is not a stitch of stamping, but lots of GREAT Rub On’s from Stampin’ Up!  I love using Stampin’ Up! rub ons for a number of reasons but the main reason is how easy they RUB ON!  Here are 8 6×6 layouts I have completed for the first album.  I have another one in the works that I will show tomorrow.

There you have it.  8 Fast Christmas layouts.  Materials used for this project was Chocolate Chip Cardstock, Kraft cardstock, Season of Cheer Rub ons, Old St. Nick Rub ons, and Word Flurries Rub ons.  I also added some Small Felt Flurries and circle brads to a page.

Have a wonderful Saturday.

Time to Scrapbook!

It was scrapbook club at my house tonight!  Not only do I love the fact I get to produce two pages for my own scrapbook, I just LOVE this group.  They make me laugh so hard!  It really is a giggle fest. You know the giggle that makes you run to the bathroom!  Okay, on to the pages….

Every year I always like to do a scrapbook page of our Holiday Traditions.  You know… putting the tree up, baking cookies with all the neighborhood kids, making the gingerbread house, yadda yadda!  This year is no exception and here is the layout.  2007 Traditions

Here are a few close up pics…

So now a few details about this page!  The pockets were made using Kraft Envelopes.  Every year I take 1000’s of pics at Christmas time.  I don’t need 50 layouts on the subject so this gives me a way to compress all those pics right there into pockets.  The trees were cut using my Fiskars paper trimmer.  Truly done by eyeballing it.  The stars are felt cut using my Stars Bigz Die Cut.  I *LOVED* this idea.  It really made the tree’s pop out.  The stamp sets I used were Winter Post and Lovely as a Tree. The Alphabet is Contempo and Big Deal Numbers.

This next layout was completely inspired by a layout I seen in my Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine on pg. 108.  I just loved this layout and I added a few twists to it.

Do you have pictures of your kids sitting on Santas lap?  This layout is perfect for that.  I cut the Top Note from the Long Board Chipboard and then covered the bottom with Ski Slope designer paper.  Of course I had to put a banner on it.  Who doesn’t like a banner???  I used the Season of Cheer Rub on’s and then added our fun Felt Flurries at the top.  Again, I used Winter Post for the stamp set and Christmas Classics.  Two very fun stamp sets.

I hope this inspires you to get your photo’s out this weekend and scrapbook.

Canada, eh?

Published by Kimberly under Scrapbooking

Howdy from Canada!  I am sooooooooooo excited to be here with many Canadian Demonstrators at Stampfest.  I flew in today and tonight we stamped some gorgeous cards.  It’s always exciting to stamp with new friends.

I wanted to share my Scrap Club layouts with you.  I had my scrap club last night and we had so much fun.  This club always just makes me giggle.

Mr. Snowman

We just had to make a snowman page this month.  I used the Coluzzle to cut out the circles, the square scallop punch with the Word Window punch to make the hat.  The nose is from the Star Punch. The Holly on the hat is from the Christmas Classics stamp set.  on the bottom of the layout I used a Pacific Point Top Note layered with a transperancy with snowflakes stamped using the Winter Post stamp set and White Stazon.  Love that stuff.

I think this layout may have put my scrap club over the edge.  They had to cut the cupcakes out and run the bottoms through the crimper.  Then the muffin tops were cut out as well.  I know, a lot of cutting!  It’s sooooooo cute though.  The "celebrate you" is matted on top of the bottom of the Basket and Blooms basket.  Another fun element.  Then, I had to add a banner.  I know, crazy me.  :)  We used the Contempo Alphabet.  GREAT set.
