Fit for a Queen
I have a few more projects from Leadership I wanted to share. Tonight's project is another spin off from the tutorial I shared yesterday. Ya know, I've been calling this project a "thingie" because I really didn't know what to call it. I emailed my sweet friend Cathy last night and she said we call these "Paper Rosettes." Sounds pretty to me so that is what we will call these "thingies!" Here it is:

For this Queen Box I started with a Naked box. One of those paper mache boxes. Before I wrapped the DSP onto the box I stamped using Black Stazon. I knew I was going to use Modge Podge and if you use a Classic Dye Ink pad the Modge Podge will smear the ink. Use Black Stazon and you will be in business. Once I had the Modge Podge on I let it dry a few minutes and then sanded all the edges really good so my box top would be a perfect fit. To keep the lace intact around the top I used Sticky Strip. You really cannot have enough of this and it really keeps the lace in place. I added the crowns and the sweet silk Rosettes from the mini using a sewing needle. I really wanted them stay! For the top I made the Paper Rosette and then stamped the Crown Image from the You're a Gem stamp set! I also used the Artistic Etchings stamp set around the box and on the top stamped image. You may notice that I only stamped the word Queen on the Designer Label punch. You can do that by using markers. Markers are a great tool to have.
Now the only thing left for this box is to find something special to go in it. Hmmm….
My Prince is enjoying his cards. I've been hiding them in pretty obvious places so he could see them but areas that would make him laugh. Funny how I know his routine in the morning. Yesterday I left the card on his dash board. Hee Hee! Tonight's card for the Blitz is pretty simple but uses fun products.

I really love Stampin' Up!'s Rub On's. They are very high quality and when used properly go on like butter. I notice that many of us, myself included, LOVE to hoard these beauties. USE THEM. Rub On's can make your paper crafting easier. Slap it on, Rub it, Ta Da! I used the Love Impressions Rub Ons, Pleasing Polka Dots Builder Wheel, Delight in Gladness Builder Wheel and the Red Glimmer paper! I used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon punch with the Red Glimmer paper and I love how that turned out. Again, simple card but I love how it says, "I Love You" at the bottom.
I've been on the hunt for a few quotes to occasionaly throw in these cards and I want to share one tonight. I love it and you have probably heard it before:
"If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be hundred minus one day, so i never have to live without you." -Pooh

Paper Flower Video Tutorial!

Finally! Time to share one of my favorite new projects. I shared these at Leadership….
I know I am terribly late for this video! I said weeks ago it would be available. The truth of the matter is I'm always coughing and sniffling with allergies. The video just wouldn't have sounded pretty! Not that this one does- I'm laughing at myself in the video! *giggle*
I am SO excited to share these with you. I LOVE making these little cuties. They are fast and fun and YOU can totally make these gems.
Here is a close up view:

I don't think my Prince will wear this to work on his uniform however it will be part of the last gift for Valentines. Bwhahahaha!
Here is the project from the video all finished and still a little "Jacked-Up!" This is lingo from my 9 year old that means it was a mess! Seriously, I cannot stamp and video at the same time. Hence the giggles on the video. I crack myself up!

While it may be Jacked-Up, I think I saved it. <sigh>
Here is the Ginormous one…

You will notice this poor thing didn't come home in perfect condition from Leadership. It was pretty banged up. I tried to fix it the best I could. I think you can still get the idea. Next time maybe I'll have one of those genius moments where I take the pictures BEFORE I leave. DUH!
Ready to see my new specs? I'm grateful my little girl can actually take a photo.

I'm still working on my Valentine Card for tomorrow. Last minute Nelly as usual! He'll get it.
I'll share in the morning.
XOXOXO

Box of Wisdom
Having a loss of stamping mojo? Let me introduce you to the Box of Wisdom & Box of Awesomeness!

I love when my kids use their imagination and this is one of their cool creations. The Box of Wisdom has been around for months and was built by my little gems. We took it down during the holidays to make room for our Christmas Tree but promised it would come back! It's back and they added another room! We now have the Box of Awesomeness! Alexis says when I lose my Stampin' Mojo the box of Wisdom can help and who wouldn't want to step into the Box of Awesomeness? While this huge box is an unsightly scene in my "dining room" it has brought out the creative imaginations of my kids and myself. I've been "allowed" inside a few times and have to say they are brilliant. The fun ways they use it makes me laugh and I love when they add something new to the creation because it's a BIG deal! We've even had sleepovers inside this crazy place! It is quite awesome.
Okay- onward to some Stampin' Awesomeness! Is that even a word?
I had to make a card tonight that I really didn't want to make. A sympathy card. My sweet SIL lost her father this past weekend while I was in Nashville. I hate not being closer to my family. I hated not being there for her this week. Just stinks. This is for her-

Here is another card I shared at Leadership:

And here is a layout I shared at Leadership:

Love those trinkets!
Time to stamp a few more things before I rest my eyeballs.

WOW x3
I have a few big WOW's to talk about tonight!
WOW you guys are AMAZING! If I could reach through my computer and give each of you a giant hug for all the prayers and sweet comments I would. Your comments, emails and face to face kind words at Leadership mean more than you could ever imagine. I am still trying to get through my emails since Leadership. Someone decided to share their kind germs with me at Leadership and it knocked me flat on my bootie yesterday. Thankfully I am back to work today and catching up on everything. I've read all of them to Russ and he smiles BIG. Everyone was home today because of the bad ice storm we had last night. It was nice having him home but I get nothing done. <smile>
2nd WOW: Leadership! Ummm…. the BEST EVER! This conference was just what I needed. I so love spending time with my girlfriends. Stampin' Up! seriously went all out this year with everything. I love this company. I always say there is ALWAYS something great around the corner when it comes to Stampin' Up! and this conference proved it once again. I laughed, I cried and I smiled BIG with pride. I loved spending time with my downline and seeing my friends from afar. This year I was honored to present at one of the night time events. I was able to share a few projects using the new Trinkets in the Occasions Mini. I love the crowns and keys and I can't wait to share these projects with you. They are so much fun! Here is a few of my favorite pics I took over Leadership!

As you can see, we had a good time! A really GOOD time!
WOW #3: Project time!
Over the next week I am going to share the 15 projects that I shared at Leadership. Trinkets are right up my alley. They are perfect for any type of project and I think you will see that over the next week. I mailed my projects home from the Gaylord Convention center on Saturday. I hope they make it in one piece. Oh boy!
My first project I want to share is just a simple card…

This is really a simple card using the new buttons, crown trinket and the background stamping is the In Stitches Jumbo wheel (121946). I LOVE the stamp set You're a Gem (122268-Wood or 122270-Clear). I've used it TONS already!! Actually, this mini ROCKS my WORLD! So many fun things to share with you. YIPPIE!
Thank You again for being simply FABULOUS!
XOXOXO
P.S.-I have a new video coming soon. It's a super cute project!!

Time to put the Big Girl Panties on!
Around New Years I was going to share a few of my New Year Resolutions with you. I got to thinking about that and really I didn't want to call them resolutions because I never COMPLETE those. They come and go! So I thought I would come up with a list of 10 things I wanted to accomplish during the year. The word "Resolution" wasn't tagged onto it and it just sounded better. Then Russ came home from work one day…. the Navy has added another chapter in our life! It's a pretty big book right now.
If you've followed this blog for awhile you know there is some type of excitement going on at all times. Leave it to the Prince to bring home the FOUR letter word! It's not what you are expecting, and I can think of better! IRAQ! <BIG LONG SIGH>
In a sense we knew it was coming. We've heard the word 4x since the move. It kept going away and I was happy. Two days prior to Christmas Russ came home to tell me the news that he was the nominee to go. It wasn't official yet so we kept it under wraps. Meanwhile I prayed hard every night it would just go away. Watching Russ take care of things on his to do LIST made me think differently… like he knew this time it was for real. He was right. It's official. He is going… soon!
I went ahead and had my BIG cry today. It felt oh-so-good. Hormones helped a little too. Nothing like a good cry. I feel better and I put my Big Girl Panties back on. It's the military wife thing to do. We are not telling the kids yet. I couldn't today if I had to. We will wait until it gets a little closer. I know we will all be okay. I know this 100%. We are strong. Will I have a pity party or two? Uh-YEA! Never been away from my Prince for the time frame they are taking him. It's awhile. A long while. <Big big sigh!>
So- back to my list. It completely changed. I will share soon. It needs some tweaking…
Now to bring this post from a BIG fat downer to something pretty to look at…
I want to share a swap card I made for two groups. Did I tell you how much I love Valentines Day? The Prince will be home for that! I'm grateful!

Lots and Lots of elements on this card. I call it Punch Galore. I used the Valentine Defined (#123057) stamp set. It's such a great set. I actually bought this set because of the flamingo's that are in it. I haven't inked the flamingo's yet. It's a challenge for next week after leadership.
I love how punches can add so much to a card. I love how so many our images fit inside our punches. Makes my stamping life wonderful.
Time to pack for Leadership. I really don't want to move from my seat. I'm toasty warm with two heaters by my feet. Did I tell you I melted my Fluffy Croc's the other day? They are rubber just in case you didn't know. I was able to shrink them down a size. <giggle> Time for new ones.
XOXOXO
P.S.- Thank you to all the ladies that have given me the Stylish Blog Award. You make me smile. I will share my fact-o's after Leadership.
