Halloween Tree Decoration Tutorial

First I want to express my sincere sadness of the passing of Steve Jobs, Co-Founder of Apple.  I've talked so much about the silly iPod the last few weeks and how grateful I am they replaced it for FREE.  I cannot help but think how much this man will be missed by so many.  He was a creative genius and changed our world in computers and electronics. I love Apple products and he has definitely changed my life for the better.

As I said the other day I would have a tutorial ready for you on how to make the Halloween Tree Decorations. I am so excited that day is TODAY! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to stamp and every year I add a few new decorations to my tree and my Halloween display.  Let me share my Halloween display as well as the tree.

What's fun about this display is the many memories that go along with the items made.  So many of these fun decorations were made sitting with friends or even a class that I have taught. Every year it's a joy to pull out each decoration and put it on the display. What's better is adding more decorations.  My display consists of a Bakers Rack that I change out every season. There is another project on my display I cannot wait to show you. It's a banner that I made with my friend Denise.  We had so much fun creating it.  I'll share much closer pics soon.

Here a closer look at my tree.

You can see many of the decorations I've made over the years. On the video you will see another Holiday Decoration with the same concept only it's a Christmas Ornament.  Here are a few closer pictures for you:

I used the Christmas Lodge stamp set for this decoration. You can find all the products I've used here in my Online Store.  Make sure you check the Clearance Rack.  There are some great holiday items you can get at a GREAT discount. Don't miss it.

Here is the video and I hope it helps you as you make a few handmade decorations fro yourself.

The weekend is almost here!

XOXOXO

Paper Die Cut Flowers

Today I hope to make a few folks happy campers.  Actually, I strive for this every day but it doesn't always work out. Just ask my kids.  :) BTW, I loved hearing the stories of your kids "When I grow up…" They made me laugh hysterically and I also don't feel so alone.

A few weeks back I showed you a Card Box I had made using the Stampin' Card Box Keeper HEREOn the top I used the Die Cut Fun Flowers and went to town.  Many have asked how to do this. I put a video together but I'm actually making another project.  It's a double dog Friday type of day! This means you you get to see two projects made using the same thing!

First, here is another box with the flower on it and a picture of the Die Cut I used.  Fun Flowers is a must have to your die cut collection.

I love our fabric! It's beautiful and I love that it coordinates with other products.  The Stampin' Card Keepers make a great gift project to put cards or recipe's in.  How about decorating the box and putting the gift INSIDE the box.  Wouldn't this be a crowd pleaser? Don't forget to add your Simply Adorned bauble to make this project turn into a WOWSER!

Okay, now for the double dog Friday project.  I've made these Paper Flower Bookmarks for my customers who have ordered from me this month.  It's nice to get a little somethin' somethin', sometimes. Isn't it? Here it is:

I received one of these beauties from my SAM early this year and I just loved it.  To keep the flowers in place they used dimensionals.  I changed it up and used my Hot Glue Gun aka Liquid Glue Dots to me. <smile> Putting this flower together is the same concept as the flower on top of the box, I just used more of the flowers.

Check out the video for some Flower Fun!

These are just as addicting as the pin cushions! Have you checked out my Online Store? It's super cute with Super CUTE things in it.  Check out the clearance items too.

Have a super fantastic weekend.  Tomorrow is World Card Making Day. I'll have a few cards for you tomorrow.

Fall Pretties, Again!

You are probably still laughing from the previous post so let me calm you down with a pretty Fall card.  Hee Hee.  I'm also excited to tell you that I'm stamping this week with my girlfriend Cathy from Colorado Springs.  We were stamping maniacs last night. We belted out the coolest projects and we have lots more coming in the next few days. We literally have a list.  SO fun!!!

Here is the card for the day-

Yes, another Gently Falling stamp set card.  Good news… I've put the stamp set to rest for a little while.  We need to move forward to a few other holidays.  LOL! This is a  simple layout.  I added one fun product on this card to add texture to the focal point of the card.  My favorite wheel, Music NotesI wheeled lightly over the leaves using More Mustard ink.  I really like how that looks.  Hopefully those dang music notes are going the right way.  I can be silly like that.

You can find Fall pretties like these above in my Online Store:)

Have a FABULOUS day.  I'm off to stamp like a crazy woman.

XOXOXO

Fall Furry

Trinity Update: I laughed so hard at your comments and stories that you shared with me.  Oh, they made my day.  Some of you even shared fun pictures.  I shared these comments with Brandon and Lexi as we laid in the bed on Saturday night.  The kids re-lived the Trinity moment and once again we were laughing.  Laughter is so good!

Now onto Fall Furry!

I've been on a huge Fall kick trying to get many cards done with all kinds of Fall stamp sets that I have.  I was quite surprised at how many Fall stamp sets that I own.  This week I will showcase the many Fall stamp sets I have! I hope you won't mind.

Today's card uses the Day of Gratitude stamp set. This set comes in both Clear (#121148)  and Wood Mount (#120835).    You can find this stamp set on page 28 in the IB&C. Here is a peek of the stamp set-

There is also a BEAUTIFUL matching wheel called Bright Blessings (# 115626).

I believe this stamp set came out last year.  I wore this set OUT.  My favorite technique with the large medallion stamp within this set is the Rock n Roll technique.

Take a peek:

For this card I used a few random stamps on to the top half of the card using VersaMark ink on More Mustard cardstock.  I then adhered the Spice Cake DSP to the bottom and added a little Pool Party cardstock.  The large Medallion was stamped onto Very Vanilla cardstock using three colors of ink: More Mustard, Early Espresso, and Pool Party and using the Rock n Roll technique.  I stamped the sentiment onto Pool Party using Early Espresso.  I added a little More Mustard button and a pearl inside.  Super fun. Don't forget to stamp your envelope.  It should not be naked.

You can find all these pretties in my Online Store.  Have a GREAT day!

XOXOXO

Where’s the Cook?

If it's one wifey-poo duty that I don't like to do it would be cooking.  It's not the actual making of the dinner that I despise so much but the planning and shopping!  When 5pm rolls around I just want to poke my eyes out.  It's like groundhog day all over again.  I look into the freezer with a dazed look and see nothing that's quick.  Then I open the pantry door and pull out the good ole favorite… Mac n Cheese! While mom's may be shaking a finger at me for not feeding my kids a healthy dinner my children are dancing in the kitchen thinking I'm the BEST mom ever.  Hmmm… It's not so bad after all.

Did you know before I sold Stampin' Up! I was a Pampered Chef demonstrator.  I'm not sure how that happened?  They have great products but again I'm not into the cooking gig and I for sure do not like cleaning it up.  So how in the world does this tie into my project today? Let me tell ya…

I love the new set in the catalog called House & Home (#122577) and Now You're Cookin' (#121327).  I love the vintage style of the House & Home set and then the Domestic Goddess DSP (#122355) is just super cute.  Besides being so cute, the name of the DSP makes me want it.  The million dollar question was how I was going to use the stamp set.  ???  I have a few ideas planned for friends over the holidays.  You can make very cute tags attached to kitchen ware gifts using both of these sets.  I thought I would start with a card.  I made this card for a new friend in town that just moved here.  She really has it all together and has her house unpacked and put together.  She really inspires me to get off my duff and get busy.  She also sews and just overly domesticated.  I think she secretly wears a superwoman cape at night….

Here is my card I am bringing tomorrow for her with a little gift to welcome her.

I really love the designer paper.  I took two different patterns and sewed a random pattern over the two pieces.  I wanted it to look quilted.  The base of the card is Poppy Red.  You can see the Pool Party in the DSP and my stamped image. Can you see how VERSATILE Pool Party is? It's a must new color this year.  I also added a Vintage Brad near my Modern Label punch.

I may not be crazy domesticated in the cooking department but this card will even spice up a wrapped box of Mac n Cheese!. <smile>

I think we will need this set for Christmas/Holiday gifts this year.  What do you think? You can see all the coordinating products in my Online Store

Have a GREAT weekend.
