Elegant Thank You, Label Me Pretty, Stampin' Up!

I love how the new Label Me Pretty stamp set has playful and elegant images mixed in this set.  Today’s card is all about elegance, and simple.

One of my favorite additions to this card is the gold pattern from the Bundle of Love Designer Series Paper.  The gold, black and white depicts the elegance.

Keeping it Simple

Elegant Thank You, Label Me Pretty, Stampin' Up!

I’m pretty much a complicated girl.  Ask my friends and family and they will tell you that. Well, they may not because they want to be nice, but the truth is I am.  Simple is hard for me to accomplish because I always want to add one more thing.  When I say add one more thing, I mean in all facets of my life, not just a card.

When I was creating this card, I’m pleased to tell it came easy to keep it simple.  I think an elegant card is just that, simple.  In this case, less was best.

Tips & Tricks

Here are few creative tips for today’s card.

  • I started this card using Whisper White Thick cardstock 4-1/4″ x 11.  The main layered piece is Whisper White cardstock 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Nine out of ten times I always use Whisper White Thick for a card base, and our smooth Whisper White cardstock for stamping.  I find there is a big difference when stamping on the thicker cardstock.
  • The Pick a Pattern Washi Tape created the perfect pattern and pop of color I needed for this card.  I especially love the designs of this Washi Tape.
  • Next, I added a 1/2″ x 3-3/4″ strip of the Gold Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper across the Washi Tape, and the Basic Black 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon to the card front.  To keep these elements in place, I used a staple.
  • I stamped the label image using Archival Basic Black ink onto Whisper White cardstock and punched the image out using the Pretty Label Punch.  The greeting was stamped using the same ink onto Whisper White cardstock then die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  I love these framelits and I love the layered look this gives to the punched image.
  • Lastly, I added a few gold Metallic Enamel Shapes for accents.

Return of Glossy Paper

OnStage Display Stamping, Stampin' Up!

Return of Glossy Paper

The return of glossy paper in the Stampin’ Up! catalog is going to make many paper crafters happy.  While it’s been a long time since I used Glossy Paper, I felt accomplished remembering a few techniques.

I think having this paper on hand again will help both customers and demonstrators enjoy more stamping techniques that only work with this type of paper.

Return of Glossy Paper, OnStage Display, Stampin' Up!

Working with Glossy Paper

Like I said, it’s been awhile since I had worked with Glossy Paper.  I started with the very basic technique I remembered… re-inkers.  Long ago one of my favorite techniques was called Polished Stone.  The basics of this technique involves re-inkers, a sponge, Rubbing Alcohol and a metallic re-inker.

Since I didn’t have a metallic re-inker on hand, I kept it even more basic and used all of the above supplies except for the metallic.

Grab Your Supplies

To create the background of this card, grab the following supplies:

  • Bermuda Bay, Dapper Denim re-inkers and Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink Pad.
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Sponge

Return of Glossy Paper, OnStage Display, Stampin' Up!

When I created this background I wanted to add the Lemon Lime Twist ink but did not have the re-inker.  I simply added color to my sponge from the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad and then added a few drops of Bermuda Bay and Dapper Denim Re-inkers to the sponge.

Once I added all of the ink to the sponge I added the Rubbing Alcohol to the sponge.   Then swirl the sponge around the Glossy Paper to see the different inks move together.  Something to note, I was very generous with the ink. This made the inks have a fun swirly look.  If I wasn’t achieving the effect, I added a little more rubbing alcohol.

Once you have added the ink, you will want to let the paper dry.  Because I’m impatient, I carefully heated with my heat tool.  The paper did curl a little bit, but once I layered it onto the Whisper White Thick cardstock it was fine.

Finishing the Card

Return of Glossy Paper, OnStage Display, Stampin' Up!

  • Now that my background was finished and layered onto the card base, it was time to finish the card.  I added a piece of the new Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper along with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.
  • The greeting was stamped from the Label Me Pretty stamp set.  I then die cut the image using Stitched Shapes framelits and layered this onto a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock punched from the Pretty Label punch.
  • I added a few stitches from my sewing machine over the Lemon Lime Twist 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon and a Delicate White Doily.

Get Acquainted with Berry Burst

Get Acquainted with Berry Burst

Man o man!  Every single new InColor makes me happy! After water coloring with the new Berry Burst Classic Ink pad, I was amazed! It’s beautiful.  Berry Burst reminds me of a color we had years ago, Purely Pomegranate.  I’m so pumped to use these new colors, and I know you will be too.

Delicate Flowers from Orange Blossom Stamp Set

Berry Burst, OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!, Orange Blossom

Today I’m sharing another card using the Orange Blossom stamp set.  I love the opportunities this stamp set provides with the many delicate flowers and even an orange. I’ll be telling you a funny story about that “orange” blossom stamp soon.

I loved the new products I was able to use on this card:

  • Orange Blossom Stamp Set
  • Touches of Nature Elements (wood elements)
  • Berry Burst Cardstock & Ink
  • White 1/8″ Sheer Ribbon

Berry Burst, OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!, Orange Blossom

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips when creating this card:

  • I started this card using Berry Burst 4-1/4″ x 11″ for the card base.  Then I added the Powder Pink cardstock 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″  to the Berry Burst card base.
  • Next, I used Watercolor Paper and added a very light watercolor wash using Berry Burst Classic ink and my Aqua Painter.  Then I heat set the ink using my Heat Tool.  Once dry I went back over the first layer of watercolor with another layer of Berry Burst ink.  This time I went a little darker.
  • I added splatter to the card using my Aqua Painter with Berry Burst ink.   Create the splatter by tapping the Aqua Painter with a bone folder over the watercolor paper.

  • I stamped the florals onto Whisper White cardstock using Berry Burst and Old Olive inks and then stamped the greeting using Archival Basic Black Ink.  Once stamped, I die cut the image using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • The floral wooden element was attached using Tombow Multipurpose Glue.  I added a bow using the new 1/8″ White Sheer Ribbon paired with Linen Thread.
  • One of my favorite things on this card is the lace border die cut.  This die cut is from the Flourish Thinlits.  This is carrying over into the new catalog, and I’m SUPER happy!

Add a Touch of Elegance!

To finish this card, I added two products that always add a touch of Elegance- Delicate Doilies, and Pearls.

I loved how this card turned out.  I’m not sure if it’s my love affair with the stamp set or the Berry Burst that drives that emotion, but either way, the card made me happy!

One More Sweet Project…

Berry Burst, OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!, Orange Blossom

One of the other stamp sets I had the privilege to work with- Label Me Pretty.  This stamp set coordinates with a new fun punch called Pretty Label Punch.  Label Me Pretty not only has beautiful images, but gorgeous fonts used for the greetings.

I created this tag using the Perfect Mix stamp set in the Occasions Catalog on page 35.  This stamp set is retiring, so grab it fast if it’s one you love.

Take note of a few things on this card:

  • Crumb Cake 3/8″ Classic Weave Ribbon
  • Tranquil Tide Cardstock & Ink
  • Pretty Label Punch

Let’s Splurge-Cool Treats

Let’s Splurge-Cool Treats

As I said a few days ago, I have another fun Cool Treats card to share with you.  I’ve had a ball with this set.  Make sure to see the other card I created HERE.

My favorite part of this suite is the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper.  The images on this paper are so so FUN!!

Let’s Splurge with a Big Bowl of Ice Cream

Let's Splurge, Cool Treats, Stampin' Up!

I love ice cream, a lot! I try not to keep much ice cream in the house because I would eat it up every day.  If I’m going to have ice cream… I’m going to have a big bowl.  Creating this card reminded me of the big bowl that I make at home.  So delicious.

Again, I love how the paper coordinates with the stamp images.  It’s perfect.

Let's Splurge, Cool Treats, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

  • I die cut a square from the Stitched Framelits using Watercolor Paper.  I used the following ink colors to watercolor: Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, and Calypso Coral.  Reminds me of a big bowl of sherbert.  YUMMY!!
  • The Kraft cardstock was perfect to die cut the bowl for the ice cream.
  • Silver (or Gold) Foil Paper is perfect to die cut the spoon.
  • The sprinkles on the ice cream were created using White Craft Ink.

Let's Splurge, Cool Treats, Stampin' Up!

No bowl of ice cream is complete without a cherry on top.  Okay, that’s sorta not true for me. I’m not a fan of those cherries.  Blech.

Cool Treats

One of the great things about this stamp set, you can create something super simple or really fancy.  Either way, it’s going to be super cute.

Another Road Trip

I arrived in Savannah, GA tonight and I’m ready for the big Stampin’ Up! OnStage event this weekend.  The best part is spending stamping time with my best friends.

I’ll be filling you in with the news I can share on my Facebook Page.  Click the link to keep informed.

Meanwhile, have a great weekend and stamp something pretty.  XOXO

Sweet Little Popsicles from Cool Treats

Sweet Little Popsicles from Tasty Treats

I can barely contain my excitement as I sit down to write. It’s been forever since I posted something pretty! No blogging is what happens when you spend more time in a car than your actual stamping space.  I’ll catch you up to speed on what’s been going on here, and I have a fun card using the Cool Treats Photopolymer Bundle from Stampin’ Up!

In a span of two weeks, I’ve traveled 2200 miles back and forth across Florida for spring break with the family as well as a State Gymnastics meet for Alexis.  WHOA!  I have one more road trip this week, and then I am praying for some normalcy in my household.

Sweet Little Popsicles

After being gone for so long, I had a pile of stamps needing attention.  There is nothing like going from zero stamping to creating about 18 pretties in one day.  Yes, true story.  I spent about 12 hours in my stamp room yesterday stamping like a crazy woman.  I had 15 projects to create for a Stampin’ Up!  event I’m attending in Savannah, GA this weekend as well as a few other projects.

After creating projects that had a deadline, it was nice to reset my brain and just create something for fun.  It also looks rather tasty! Sweet Little Popsicles.

Tasty Treats, Stampin' Up!

I’ve used this set several different times, and each time I do, I grow more and more fond of the images and die cuts.  This card especially made me want to hunt down the ice cream truck to grab one of these delicious popsicles.  Can you imagine the visual? Me… running down the street chasing the ice cream truck. Ha ha ha… oh dear.  This makes me laugh!

Tasty Treats, Stampin' Up!

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few of my favorite things about this card.

  • A simple watercolored background using Sahara Sand Ink and Aqua Painter makes the popsicles stand out on this card.  I added a little-splattered ink using Early Espresso ink.
  • The coordinating pattern paper of popsicles makes this card even more delicious.  Make sure to grab the Tasty Treats Designer Series Paper before the end of the Occasions Catalog, May 31st.  It’s the perfect paper for spring/summer projects.
  • One of my favorite additions to this card is the scalloped edge behind the watercolor paper.  This scallop edge was created using the Cutie Pie Thinlits.  *LOVE THIS!*
  • Lastly, the Cool Treats stamp set has great greetings and fonts.  I love the simple and tiny fonts on this special greeting.  I created a 1/2″ banner to go across the popsicles using Pool Party cardstock and Early Espresso Ink.

Tasty Treats, Stampin' Up!

What’s Your Favorite Cool Treat?

After a few weeks of being on the road and too many dole whips, Dairy Queen stops… honestly, I think I could stand not to have any more cold treats.  What is your favorite cold treat?

I have another card I’ll be sharing using this set soon.  The Cool Treats stamp set has so many opportunities to use and especially with the change of seasons coming up.

Tasty Treats, Stampin' Up!

Like I said in the beginning, I hope to be back to my normal blogging schedule and spending less time in my car. Not being able to stamp has been a BIG fat bummer.  Although I’ve had a blast with my kids, mama needs some stamping fun.
