Stampin’ Up! New Blends Artisan Hop

Stampin’ Up! New Blends Artisan Hop

The excitement has been building about the newest Stampin’ Blends Markers from Stampin’ Up! I couldn’t wait to get a hold of the markers and start coloring.  Coloring, in general, has always been a very relaxing activity for me.  I love how you can bring any image to life with color.  Today the Artisans are sharing beautiful projects using many different stamp sets and the Stampin’ Blends Markers giving you inspiration.

The Stampin’ Blends Markers are the perfect medium to make your stamp images pop!

Stampin’ Up!’s premier alcohol markers, Stampin’ Blends are high-quality, dual-tip markers that come in 12 of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive colors, each with a light and dark shade. Maybe you don’t think of yourself as an artist, but you don’t need to be because these markers make it super easy to blend colors and create gorgeous works of art!

Today I’m sharing a card using the Holly Berry Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set.  I love how beautiful the holly leaves turned out using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends both light and dark shades.

Tips & Tricks

Here are a few tips when creating this card:

  • I stamped the Holly Berry Branch images onto Whisper White cardstock using Black Memento Ink, then colored in using the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.  I started with the light Stampin’ Blend first.  Then added a few darker highlights using the darker Old Olive shade.  Once the image was colored, I used the lighter shade to go over the entire holly image to blend.
  • The bow was colored using the Pink Pirouette Stampin’ Blends.  Once stamped, I punched the image out using the Holly Berry Punch that coordinates beautifully with this stamp set.
  • I stamped the Cherry Cobbler cardstock randomly using Black Memento ink and the holly berry branch.  Then I attached the Cherry Cobbler cardstock to a piece of Whisper White cardstock using dimensionals, with a few of the colored holly branches placed underneath to add dimension.

I finished off the card with a little Linen Thread under the bow and a small piece of a Delicate White Doily.

Count My Blessings Artisan Hop

Count My Blessings

It’s exciting to start feeling the crisp fall air here in Florida.  It’s only been about a week of cooler weather, but already I’m enjoying it.  The artisans are sharing a little taste of fall with you today.  I’m super happy to share the Count My Blessings stamp set.

Feeling Like Fall

When the temps get below 60 at night that is a signal for me that fall is either near, or here.  Just a little over a week ago we were getting our house ready for a hurricane.  Fortunately, we only had a little rain and wind.  However, the humidity was off the hook.  It was awful.  Normally I hate to see summer leave, but after that week of crazy humidity, I’m grateful for cooler nights.

Of course, once I get the sense that fall is here, it always sends me in a fury to get my house decorated for fall.  I hate to admit that I literally still had a sign up that said, “Schools Out”.  The funny part is the kids have been back in school for 8 weeks.  It tells a real story of the crazy fun we live.

Fall is also one of my favorite times of year to create.  There are so many great stamp sets with fall themes.  The Count My Blessings set not only has gorgeous images, but the fonts are AMAZING!

This stamp set begged to be watercolored with inks and my Aqua Painter.

Creative Quick Tips

  • I did simple watercoloring over the leaf and acorn images after using Archival Basic Black ink to stamp the image.  I used Early Espresso, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake inks. Fussy cut the leaf images.
  • I created a watercolor wash onto watercolor paper using Pumpkin Pie ink, then die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Once the paper is dry, stamp the greeting onto the watercolor paper using Archival Basic Black ink.
  • Sponge over a Delicate White Doily using Early Espresso ink.  Attach to the back of the circle die cut.
  • Wrap Linen Thread to look like a bow, staple to the stamped image and onto the die cut circle.
  • Attach the stamped images to the card base.  The card base has layers of the Wood Textures DSP attached to a Whisper White Thick cardstock.

You will notice one small little detail that I loved adding to my cards. The tiny scallop is created using the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch.

This was a quick and easy card using the Merry Little Labels Bundle.  I love a coordinating bundle because it makes creating simplified.  Especially when my schedule has been busy with the kids.  My time to stamp lately has been little, so having a stamp set with a coordinating punch makes the process so much smoother.

Quick Tips

  • Stamp the background with the Sheet Music Background stamp using Tranquil Tide ink on Tranquil Tide cardstock.
  • I stamped the label onto Soft Sky cardstock using Tranquil Tide ink.
  • The label was layered with a Silver Foil Snowflake, a Delicate Doily along with twine and Whisper White ribbon.
  • The small strip of Designer Series Paper is from the Foil Frenzy Specialty Designer Series Paper Pack.  LOVE the sparkle and shine this paper has.

Painted Harvest Artisan Hop

Painted Harvest

It doesn’t seem possible that my summer is coming to an end.  If there is one thing I do love about the upcoming season it’s the beautiful images that Stampin’ Up! produces for fall and the holidays.  The new Painted Harvest Stamp Set is one that I fell in love with quickly.

As you know, I love a stamp set that has versatility. One that I can use over and over again throughout the year.  Painted Harvest is that set!  It’s time to get inspired by the Artisan Team!

Vibrant Colors

Painted Harvest, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

I love sunflowers and the vibrant colors you can use to stamp them. The  Painted Harvest Suite was perfect to use when creating this card and Mini Treat Bag.

Tips & Tricks

Painted Harvest, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

  • The Mini Treat Bag Thinlits creates the perfect mini treat bag for quick favors.  I used the Painted Autumn Cardstock Pack (Kraft Cardstock) to create the bag.
  • Watercolor Paper was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits largest circle, then watercolored using Daffodil Delight Classic Ink.   I stamped the sunflowers using Pumpkin Pie, and Peekaboo Peach Classic Inks, once the area was dry.
  • I stamped the greeting using Early Espresso ink.
  • To create a thinner Jute Twine, I simply separated the twine to three threads.  Then I wrapped this around the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper belly band.
  • Lastly, I stamped the tissue paper for the inside of the mini treat bag using the same classic inks mentioned above.  Love how this brings the entire project together.

Painted Harvest, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

  • I created the background using Whisper White cardstock punched from the Leaf Punch.  I love how this gave texture to the card front along with a unique look.
  • Stamping the sunflowers, I used Daffodil Delight, then I used the rock n roll technique with a touch of Pumpkin Pie ink.  The inside of the flower was stamped using Early Espresso.
  • There is a little fussy cutting for a few of the leaves and one sunflower.
  • I added a few wood flowers from the Touches of Nature Elements.  I love how this all coordinates.

Gather Together & Give Thanks

Whether you are looking to create beautiful fall handmade cards or have a love affair with the sunflowers, the Painted Harvest stamp set is a perfect addition to your stamp collection from the Holiday catalog.

This month I used the Spooky Cat Bundle to create my project for the tutorial and today’s project.  If you have been around my blog for some time, you already know Halloween is one of my favorite times to create.  Not only do I love the images, but I also love the color combinations you can use for Halloween.

Quick Tips

Below are a few quick tips creating this card.

  • The designer paper is a 1″ strip using the Spooky Night DSP.
  • I embossed the greeting onto Basic Black cardstock using White Embossing Powder.
