Use Your Supplies!

Confession time! A month or so (could be longer..) I held a class called "Card Buffet."  It was a class where I had about 20 cards on display and my customers could make any 5 cards from the designs I had displayed.  I loved this class but at the end of it I noticed I had a few  LOT of kits left over.  The cardstock is already cut and ready to go, I just needed to get busy and stamp.  For the most part this is not an issue because I just make up the rest of the cards and it leaves me a ton of cards that I can send out myself (which by the way I am SOOOOO behind on!!!)  Anyways, one of the cards I had leftovers for was an Easter card.  Remember this one?

Since Easter has passed I didn't want to make more Easter cards so I took the pre-cut cardstock and challenged myself to come up with a different card.  Here is what I came up with.

I chose the exact same design, just a different stamp set. I love the stamp set Send Me Soaring.  It's in the Occasions Mini Catalog and it's one of those stamps that you can color, paper piece, or just do solid stamping with. I love the sentiments too because it covers many things.  The clouds are cute as can be!!! I love the crisp lines that this set has. Check it out:

You can even get this set in Digital Form.  I REALLY love that.

Overall, my point is this… Make the most of your supplies.  Do you have pre cut cardstock, DSP or pre cut ribbon laying around? Challenge yourself and make a card. For me the biggest challenge is putting a stamp on the envelope and SENDING the card.  Anyone up for the challenge? I would love to see your creations. I am going to challenge myself to send out 5 cards tomorrow. WOW!!

You can find all of these great supplies in my Online Store. Don't forget to check out the Retired Lists. Items are going FAST! If you love 12 x 12 Textured Cardstock, stock up.  If you love Craft ink (LOVE, LOVE it!!) stock up. Craft ink is being discontinued expect for Black and White.

Have a GREAT FRIDAY!

P.S. I have two kids that are OVER the TOP excited as we leave in a few days for Disney.  Alexis can barely contain herself.  Seriously she cannot focus on anything!  She is SO excited to see a friend that she has been pen paling with and just cannot believe she is going to Disney.  We are thankful for Stampin' Up!, my customers and downline who make things like this trip even possible.  I am looking forward to spending time with my family watching my kids relax and have fun.  They deserve it.

I will be posting while I am away.  In fact…. I've already posted ahead of schedule.  I know you just FAINTED!  I'm NEVER this organized.  I plan to share our trip with you if you don't mind.  You know it's always an adventure when I travel.

Thank you for always supporting me, my business and my family.  Sending 1000 hugs and kisses to YOU my awesome readers!

Boy this was a shocker to see this stamp set go.  I love the images in this set.  Don't you? Here is a look at all the images:

Kimberly Van Diepen Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

Are you looking at the DSP on my card and asking yourself what is that? Oh good grief.  I thought I did a CLEAN sweep last year with the Retired stuff. LOL.  Nope. I thought this paper was still current and it's SO NOT.  It's the Greenhouse Gala DSP.  There is good news to this story though.  If you love it you can still get it.  It's just going to be in Digital format and you can print it on your printer.  You can even print it ANY size you want.  Kinda cool, huh?

You can purchase the Digital paper in my Digital Store HERE

Here is the paper:

I also used the First Edition DSP on this card.  I just tore a strip and placed it behind my Early Espresso cardstock strip.  I like the way that turned out.  I stamped the main image using Baja Breeze Craft ink.  I love Craft ink and I love how it looks on Crumb Cake cardstock.

You can find all the products I used below.  The big QUESTION of the day is what stamp set are you freaking out because it's retiring? Anything?

Products Used:

Stamps: Friends Never Fade

Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist

Inks: Baja Breeze Craft

Accessories: Pennant Die Cut, First Edition DSP, Greenhouse Gala RETIRED DSP, Pearls, Baja Breeze Pleated Ribbon, 2 1/2 Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, 13/4" Circle punch, Vintage Trinkets, Subtles Buttons, Linen Thread

Have a FANTASTIC day! Create something fantastic.

Oh my! This is one of the sets I may shed a few tears over.  So beautiful and such a versatile set to use on any card.  I love that bird in this set too.  The good news is that I inked this stamp set a lot and it's definitely been given a run for it's money in my stamp room.

Here is the stamp set:

For this card I stamped the large background onto the First Edition DSP.  This is not an easy image to cut out, however since I stamped it on the DSP, I didn't pay too much attention to detail when cutting it out because you couldn't really tell.

Below you will find the details on what I used for this card.  Make sure you check out the Retiring products in my Online Store

Timeless Treasures

Kimberly Van Diepen

Kimberly Van Diepen

The other night I started pulling my retiring stamp sets from the shelves to see what was leaving me.  Oh WOW was I sad and WOW was I happy.  It was a mixed emotion type of night.  There were some sets that I was terribly sad to see go and there are others I couldn't be more happy to FINALLY see go away. <smile>

The card I made today is a set I really will miss but I didn't use it a lot.  Maybe I didn't want to call to many of my friends antiques or old? Ha.  I do love the images and you know I love antiques.

I used a Very Vanilla cardstock base and then used my favorite DSP, First Edition to make banners across the card.  I used the Well Worn DSP at the top of the card.  I added a bit of Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon and there you have it.  Below you will find a list of products I used.   ;)

You can find all of these products in my Online Store

Products Used:

Stamps- Timeless Treasures

Cardstock- Very Vanilla, More Mustard

Ink- More Mustard, Night of Navy

Accessories- Decorative Label Punch, Label Framelits Die, Well Worn DSP, First Edition DSP, Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon.

It's MDS Tuesday Download day! There are amazing downloads again today.  Super EXCITING!!!  I love Tuesdays! HERE are the new downloads.

P.S. Did you watch DWTS last night? Did you see Smokey Robinson or Barry Gordy? I was smiling big last night.  I was still in disbelief that he was JUST sitting next to me on the plane a week ago.  WOWSER!

Remember this one?

Time sure did get away from me.  I've been doing great things all of which have kept me super busy.  I traveled up to the great state of Michigan to visit my friend and downline Jenny.  We held a DIVA night with her downline on Friday night enjoying a great dinner together and then I had time to get to know her amazing ladies.  Saturday we held a downline meeting that was fantastic.  Jenny had an amazing studio to work at and she served the most delicious lunch.  We were able to stamp and talk business and I think everyone had a great time.  After the meeting Jenny gave me the grand tour of her township and surrounding area.  WOW. I couldn't believe the amount of farm land around me and loved hearing "Farmer" talk. It was such a VAST difference from living here in the big city.  I have a greater appreciation of how they run their business.  My trip was pretty quick and filled with excitement.  Even sat next to Smokey Robinson and Barry Gordy on the plane going to Michigan.  I was COMPLETELY star struck.

Once I came home I literally had my nose to the ground with work that needed to be done.  My Prince was out of town for the last four days so that meant I was on full Taxi service with the kids too.  Today I can catch my breath and get ready for another busy weekend.  The good news – I was able to catch my breath and stamp. WOOT!

Today I played with an OLD, OLD Stamp set.  In fact, I'm not sure of the exact name of this set but you will recognize it I'm sure.  I wanted to send a special card to my Girl Scout volunteers that work so hard to help me with my Brownie Troop.  I couldn't do it without them.

Only the stamp set isn't current.  I had to pull the set from my locked vault of "DO NOT EVER SELL" stamp sets.  Do you have a set that you could NEVER part with? As a business demonstrator I try to keep only fresh stamps on my shelf.  There are a few that just hold a special place in my heart and I can't let it go. I used the Friendly Phrases stamp set for the greeting.  I love that stamp set.  I also used the Pennant Die Cut to layer the 2 1/2" Circle punch on.  The DSP is called Just Add Cake.  The last little trinket I used was the Trinket Heart Charms from the Occasions Mini.

I've also been playing around with the new Summer Smooches Suite.  This is filled with Bright Beautiful colors that scream SUMMER.  Normally, the brights are not colors that I grab first.  BUT… I really am becoming a fan of them.  Who knew?

This first card above is really simplistic but uses lots of punches such as the 21/2" Circle punch, Decorative Label punch, Postage Stamp punch and the 1" Square punch.

The last card uses lots of layers and lots of buttons. I love how the Summer Smooches DSP coordinates so well with the Tulip Embossing Folder. Overall, I love how this Suite is growing on me.

There are new MDS downloads that are available.  They are fantastic.  You can check them out HERE.

I hope you are having a fantastic week.

XOXOXO
