Anyhoo, I wanted to make our school nurse a nice gift for Nurses Week and used my old supplies to make something with new supplies.  Best of both worlds.

I used our awesome Whisper White Note Cards.

I started with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock and stamped the greeting from Forever with You stamp set.  This is a new set that's gorgeous.  I die cut it using our Apothecary Framelits.  I then mounted it onto a Whisper White 21/2" Circle punch and added a little of that fun Polka dot ribbon.

 To make the pocket simple seal your envelope and cut off one end so the entire length is 4 1/8".  I cut a half moon circle using my 2 1/2" Circle punch.  Now my card slips in nicely.  The front of the card is all flat stamping except I added a few tiny pearls to add a little more texture to the card.

I used all kinds of new products on this little guy.  I used the Papaya Collage stamp set with Pool Party ink.  You can see I added a small piece of Vellum across the front of the box too.  I also used our new Apothecary Accents Framelits with a Glass button.  Super pretty and delicate looking. 

On the inside there are three cards.  All 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 in size. 

Each card is just slightly different than the other.  I used Vellum on all three cards and then embossed the vellum on each using the Fancy Fan Folder.  I used the stamp set World Treasures for the greeting on each.  There is a little sewing on two of the cards but it's not over the top.  Just a wee bit.   I love these colors together… Soft Suede, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and a tad of Whisper White.

Speaking of the Sky is the Limit… this card is perfect for today.

I love Hot Air Balloons and we are always lucky when we go home to Iowa to see a few in the air as his family lives near the Balloon Field.  The last time we were there Russ went up in one and he loved it.  I had fun chasing it. 

This card uses one of our new Designer Series Papers called World Spectacular.  LOVE, love this paper.  Every single sheet.  I pulled out my Up, Up & Away stamp set and put it to good use tonight. 

I started with Island Indigo cardstock for the base and added a piece of Whisper White CS to mat the DSP onto it.  The balloon is stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  I punched that tiny little Decorative punch using my Decorative Label punch.  Have you seen this done before? Maybe I should do a little tutorial on it? I doubled up the Natural buttons and tied a little Linen thread into them.  I also placed a Daffodil Delight brad on the card to hold my greeting.  Confession… I have barely used my colored brads.  I love how this brad looked on the card.  I will start using more of these.  It's super cute.

My house is a happy place right now because I'm holding my NEW handy dandy Stampin' Up! Catalog. My eyes cannot gaze away.  I love the artwork.  I love it so much it was the inspiration for this card.  I found this very fun layout in the catalog and thought it would be great for my Tea Shoppe stamp set.  You can't begin to understand how excited I was to see this stamp set carry over.  It made me so happy.  The card itself is very simple.  I started with Whisper White Cardstock and used my Striped Embossing Folder directly to the base of the card.  I used a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (3.5 x 3 3/4) and scored along each edge at 1/4" using my handy Simply Scored Tool.  Have you fallen in love with that product yet? It doesn't take much to fall madly in love.  I stamped my images onto Whisper White cardstock using Early Espresso and Rose Red ink colors.  The tea cup images were punched using the 1" Square punch and then matted onto a piece of Whisper White that was punched with the Postage Punch.  I added a little Rose Red Scallop Border punch under the Crumb Cake just like the card in the catalog.  You will notice the little flower on the safety pin… that's a yummy new embellishment in the catalog.  It's hanging on with a Mini Glue Dot for dear life.

Boy this was a shocker to see this stamp set go.  I love the images in this set.  Don't you? Here is a look at all the images:

Are you looking at the DSP on my card and asking yourself what is that? Oh good grief.  I thought I did a CLEAN sweep last year with the Retired stuff. LOL.  Nope. I thought this paper was still current and it's SO NOT.  It's the Greenhouse Gala DSP.  There is good news to this story though.  If you love it you can still get it.  It's just going to be in Digital format and you can print it on your printer.  You can even print it ANY size you want.  Kinda cool, huh?

I also used the First Edition DSP on this card.  I just tore a strip and placed it behind my Early Espresso cardstock strip.  I like the way that turned out.  I stamped the main image using Baja Breeze Craft ink.  I love Craft ink and I love how it looks on Crumb Cake cardstock.

Oh my! This is one of the sets I may shed a few tears over.  So beautiful and such a versatile set to use on any card.  I love that bird in this set too.  The good news is that I inked this stamp set a lot and it's definitely been given a run for it's money in my stamp room.

The other night I started pulling my retiring stamp sets from the shelves to see what was leaving me.  Oh WOW was I sad and WOW was I happy.  It was a mixed emotion type of night.  There were some sets that I was terribly sad to see go and there are others I couldn't be more happy to FINALLY see go away. <smile> 

The card I made today is a set I really will miss but I didn't use it a lot.  Maybe I didn't want to call to many of my friends antiques or old? Ha.  I do love the images and you know I love antiques. 

I used a Very Vanilla cardstock base and then used my favorite DSP, First Edition to make banners across the card.  I used the Well Worn DSP at the top of the card.  I added a bit of Very Vanilla Seam Binding ribbon and there you have it.  Below you will find a list of products I used.

I pulled out my pretty Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini and felt the need to play with BRIGHT colors. For this card I embossed directly onto the First Edition DSP using three fun Embossing Powders- Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, and Wild Wasabi.  Usually I'm not quick to grab the bright colors. Maybe because Spring is here it put me in the mood but I really loved the way these flowers popped off the First Edition DSP.  Another thing I noticed is the embossing powders are not as bright and more muted.  I personally LOVE this.  Below is the list of products I used on this card.

Next I have a new Digital Layout.  Today's layout uses a few new downloads released yesterday. 

I started this layout with a Whisper White Textured 12 x 12 cardstock and then placed a Vintage Overlay on top of it.  I like the color it makes my background.  I also used lots of Square punches but turned them 180 degrees so I could have a diamond shape.  I then filled all of them with the Modern Prints DSP and bordered them with the Wild About You Black border stamp brush.  You'll notice in the top right of the layout is the new ripple ribbon we have.  WHOA! That got me super excited. We had a funny today as well. Brandon had to be at the school at 7 am to play in a concert for a big school award program.  His school was awarded the School of Excellence for the county.  They had a big to-do today.  When my kids need to be somewhere that early I literally roll out of the bed, get them ready and get in the car.  Visualize my hair going 9 different ways, mascara under my eyes and pj's that DO not match.  In my book I call this-NOT pretty.  I get Brandon to the school and pull into the circle to drop him off and he looks at me like, "Uh Mama, What are you doing?" I told him to have a great day.  He says, "you're not watching my concert?" WHAT?? I told him this was not for parents and besides when do I ever go out in public looking like this? He looked at me and said, "Mama, you're beautiful just like that.  You have to come in!"  WHO can resist that? Okay, I did. I told him I would be right back. Thank God the school is close. Alexis and I flew home while I changed clothes, put on a little make up, placed a hat on my head and got her ready for school in a matter of 20 minutes. We were back at the school at 730am at the start of the event.  Remember, parents were not invited as this was to honor the teachers.  I brought my camera though and started shooting pics of the event.  I looked like a hobo with my outfit and all these fancy people around me dressed to the nines.  The things we do for our kids.  Here is what I accomplished at the school even though I really wasn't supposed to be there.   I did make one little boy happy. 

I made this Photo Collage using an 8 x 8 layout with MDS.  I made a template for my pictures and then added a little title.  The font is called Honey Script.
