I've been helping a few friends locally with baby invitations.  During the process it made me realize that I do NOT have a lot of baby crafting supplies on hand.  I guess you could say I've outgrown that department in the crafting section.  However, I was able to pull a few supplies and make some fun cards. I was going through some of my paper that has been neglected and found the pretty Mocha Morning Specialty DSP.  I haven't played with this gorgeous paper enough.  Check out this great paper!

Today I have a layout using more Circles and NEW downloads!

Today's layout was inspired by another layout seen on Pinterest.  You can see the layout HERE. I loved all the circles on this layout.  What I love more is being able to find a layout I like and creating it using My Digital Studio software.  Sometimes it's hard to start with a blank canvas and know which way to go with it.  It's much easier to start from scratch when you have a little inspiration standing in front of you. 

This photo of Brandon will go down as one of my favorites. It was taken this past fall at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC.  It was the first time any of us had seen it and it was the one place my Dad wanted to go while they were visiting.   We were looking for a friend of my Dads.  He had died right in front of my dad when he was in Vietnam.  They were best buddies.  I can't describe how emotional this visit was for my family.  Seeing my dads face when he looked at the wall was incredible. Almost disbelief that he was actually standing in front of it.  My kids were fascinated with the history and Brandon kept saying, "Look at all of these names!"  Interestingly enough the picture I took of Brandon is one of my favorites because you can see the reflection of names on his white shirt.

During December I created my favorite scrapbook of all time.  It was a 100 page album for Russ about what we did during his Iraq deployment.  This is my favorite scrapbook because it tells a VERY big story. It tells the good, the bad and they very ugly.  Every page has journaling.  Truth be told most of my traditional scrapbooks have VERY little journaling because I was lazy and a procrastinator. I'm not afraid to call myself out.  It's the truth.  My scrapbook for Russ has TONS of journaling because the book had to go to print and I needed to tell the story. LOL.  I will share this book soon.  I just have to click the shutter on the camera.

I've had quite a few baby invite requests over the last couple of weeks.  With back to back sickies I haven't been able to get to them as fast as I wanted.  This card is a fast card if you are looking to make many duplicates.  The You're Invited is a retired stamp set that I keep on hand.  We do have a few in the catalog that are just as cute that you can use.

So, once I pulled these out my cousin told me she didn’t want PINK!

Not a problem I said.    I can come up with a different color.  I’m a big dumb dumb and didn’t bring the catalog with me to show her the other colors but she was wearing the cutest Almost Amethyst Sundress and that’s the color we decided on. Phew. 

So here is Take 3!

Remember, my new favorite thing the past couple of weeks is lots of layers and the shabby look.  Now honestly I have always loved the shabby look, but I am totally into it right now.  These definitely fit the bill. Now, don’t pay too much attention to the fact I went a little OVERBOARD with my Color Spritzer Tool.  Actually the barrel wasn’t clean and I squirted black ink over my pretty pink paper.  (You probably heard a loud scream!)

 Have I told you lately how much I love the stamp set Friends 24-7?  Jeesh I cannot get enough of this stamp set.  It really is the BEST!  So VERSITLE!  I have to make 50 of these bad boys.  I started some of the assembly tonight!

I used the Murifield Designer paper.  The base of the card is Naturals Ivory.  I used Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss cardstock which coordinates so well with the Murifield designer paper.  I think I got a little crazy tonight and paper pieced the hippo.  What was I thinking??  Sheesh!  That is not easy, but it does look cute.  The hippo is from the stamp set Bundle of Love.  The sentiment is from Nursery Necessities.
