Happy Birthday Gorgeous

Happy Birthday Gorgeous

It’s time for an Artisan Blog Hop! It’s always exciting to bring 20 Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world and see how we can take a stamp set and create in so many different ways.  I’m using the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set I think you will love.

Not only does the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set have lots of beautiful images, the coordinating framelits is perfection.

Create a Fun Background

I didn’t realize how fun the Happy Birthday Framelit would make a sweet background for my card.  Plus the Wisteria Wonder and Fresh Fig inks looked gorgeous together.

Tips & Tricks

  • I decided to create a fun background for my first card by creating a watercolor background first using Wisteria Wonder Ink on Watercolor Paper.
  • Once the watercolor had set in place, I die cut the Happy Birthday image using the Happy Birthday Framelits, however, I left the die cut in place.  I love how this looks and love that you can still distinguish the greeting very well.
  • The new ribbons from Stampin’ Up! are perfect for creating an accordion fold and then securing with a staple.
  • I added a little splatter by loading my Aqua Painter with Fresh Fig ink, then holding the Aqua Painter over the image, I tapped the Aqua Painter using a Bone Folder.
  • I layered a few pieces of Designer Series Paper, ribbon and a doily at the bottom with the greeting and a sweet little flower for a finishing touch.
  • Lastly, I added the Glitter Enamel Dots.  They are one of my FAVORITES to embellish a card with.

A Completely Different Look

Here is another card I created with a completely different look but just as fun.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set, Artisan Blog Hop, Stampin' Up!

I love how delicate these tiny flowers look.  I stamped and embossed some of them directly onto the Shimmery White cardstock layer and then stamped a few and fussy cut to add dimension to the card.  The flowers are super simple to fussy cut.

One of my favorite things to do is bring products together such as framelits.  I used one of my favorites such as the Stitched Shapes Framelits as well as a new one from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.  The scallop edge is by far one thinlit that will get a TON of use.  I’ve always been a big sucker for scallops.

You Choose

I’m not sure which one I’d choose as a favorite as both are very different in the way they are laid out.  I do love that each has the delicate flowers embossed giving them a little more elegance.  I do love the smaller greeting fonts in this stamp set because I love to create thin banners.  The smaller fonts are perfect for this.

Which is your favorite?

Birthday Delivery-Artisan Blog Hop

Birthday Delivery

What an exciting day this is.  Not only is it an Artisan Blog Hop but today the new catalog goes live at noon Mountain Time.

I have an extensive list of stamping goodies I’m ready to mark off my wish list and get them into my hands.

Finally today, I was able to sit down and use one of the sets from my pre-order called Birthday Delivery.  I love how sweet and vintage this stamp set looks.  It’s from the Birthday Memories Suite and one of the new bundles you can purchase starting today.

Watercoloring on Crumb Cake Cardstock

When I started creating this card I pulled out all of the beautiful patterns from the coordinating suite, Birthday Memories Designer Series Paper.  Instantly my eyes went to the crumb cake background and the sweet little chef.  This was the key piece that inspired me to create this card.

I started with a fun technique I love to use from time to time-watercoloring on Crumb Cake cardstock.

Here are a few tips when coloring the chef:

  • I stamped the chef image using Archival Basic Black ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  I like to let the Archival ink dry for a few minutes or heat set using a Heat Tool.
  • Whisper White Craft ink created the perfect muted white background I was trying to achieve for the chef coat and hat.
  • I colored the remainder of the images using Pacific Point, Crushed Curry and Real Red inks.
  • Something I have found useful when coloring on regular cardstock with my Aqua Painter is to load the pen with a light coat of ink.  This way I don’t have too much water over the image making blending easier and less pilling of the paper.

Birthday Friends Framelits Dies

Birthday Delivery, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

One of my favorite things about this bundle besides the adorable images is the coordinating framelits. One of the big reasons I’m drawn to the framelits is the size of the images along with how many of the framelits fit perfectly over the Designer Series Paper.

Normally I find myself very frugile when I use designer paper, but I love how each of the pieces in this pack of paper coordinates so well, making my layering attempts so easy.

Birthday Delivery, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Blog Hop

You can see how each of the layers coordinate together and I’ve added a few dimensionals to create depth for this project.

Happy Celebrations-Artisan Hop

Happy Celebrations-Artisan Hop

Happy Artisan hop day.  That means lots of inspiring projects are about to be shared using the Happy Celebrations and Cool Treats stamp set.

I’m over the moon to share another project using the Happy Celebrations stamp set.  I have enjoyed this stamp set and coordinating embossing folders more than I ever thought I would.

Happy Celebrations, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Hop

So Very Happy

Actually, I’m sitting at Starbucks as I write this post and I’m not so very happy.  I’m outside sitting at the tables because it’s a comfortable 80 degrees and no humidity (that’s a miracle) and inside the Starbucks, it feels like -30! I didn’t bring a jacket so I figured sitting outside would be fine. That’s until I started feeling ants biting.  I’m guessing this is a no win situation… however I’ll make it a winner because the weather is gorgeous.

Okay, back to happy.

This card really made me happy because I love Watercolor Paper.  There is lots of watercolor paper on this card and a few other fun details.  Let’s get started.  I’m excited to share with you.

Happy Celebrations, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Hop

Tips & Tricks

  • I started this card using a piece of Watercolor Paper 3-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.  Using my Aqua Painter, I added a quick watercolor wash in the center using Rich Razzleberry ink.
  • Using the Stitched Shapes Framelits, I cut 3 different size circles then watercolored each using Rich Razzleberry, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive inks.  WHOA! These colors knock my socks off.  I love how they blend. Each of the circles was attached to the main Watercolor Paper.

Happy Celebrations, Stampin' Up!, Artisan Hop

  • One of the details I fell in love with on this card is the doily.  We all know how much I love the little details, but this doily peeking above the circle makes me squeal.
  • The sweet scallop edge comes from the Cutie Pie Thinlits which is being discontinued.  I’ve loved this thinlit and mostly used it for the scallop.  Make sure to grab it if you love it.  It’s only available until the end of the month.
  • The best news about the Happy Celebrations stamp set… it’s being carried over into the NEW catalog.
  • Notice how that small strip of Basic Black cardstock really pops next to these colors? Love that.

The Last Details

Lastly, I had a few details to finish the card.  Sequins are one of my favorite quick and easy embellishments and don’t forget the Enamel Shapes.  I love that our Enamel Shapes coordinate with our colors.  One more thing, I love how that little clip is holding on to my greeting.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite

Although I see very cloudy skies outside, I see bold brights inside.  Join me today for a fun Artisan Blog Hop where I’m sharing a fun Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite card.  I’m SO happy with these cards and the inspiration from the Artisans.

Watercoloring with Shimmer White Cardstock

When I placed these bold, bright colors together, I felt like they made a bold statement.  The colors just pop off the card.

One thing important to note on this card is my use of Shimmer White Cardstock.  I love how the shimmer shows through the water coloring.  It’s hard to see this in a photo, but I promise it’s there.

Tips & Tricks

I have many fun tips when creating this card.

  • The bold colors I used for this card are Bermuda Bay, Berry Burst, and Lemon Lime Twist.  I stamped each of the flowers using Archival Basic Black ink then watercolored using an Aqua Painter.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

  • One of my favorite elements on this card is the layer of the Gold Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate that I die cut using the Layering Circles Framelits which I placed under the greeting.  Confession,  I hoard my Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  It’s so pretty that I let it sit.  This design element was inspired by one of my fellow Artisans.  I’ve looked for the last 30 minutes trying to find the actual card and who created it, but I can’t find it.  It’s such a fun addition.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

  • I’m in love with the greetings in the Eastern Beauty stamp set.  Not only are they great greetings, the fonts are amazing.  I watercolored using Berry Burst ink onto Shimmer White Cardstock and then stamped my greeting.  Then I die cut the greeting using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.
  • I added the gold flowers from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers around the watercolored flowers.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

Bold & Bright with Watercolor Paper

I continued working with the same bold, bright colors for my second card, but this time I used Watercolor Paper.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

Tips & Tricks

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

  • I stamped the flowers using Archival Basic Black onto Watercolor Paper, then watercolored using my Aqua Painter. It was easier to add splatter over the flowers before attaching them to the card front.  Once they were watercolored and splattered, I die cut using the Eastern Medallion Thinlits.
  • Each of the die cut flowers was attached with Mini Glue Dots to the top half of the card.  The Mini Glue Dots adds a slight and perfect dimension to the flowers.

Bold Bright Eastern Palace Suite, Stampin' Up!, Eastern Beauty

  • I added the gold star stickers from the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers. I placed a gold Metallic Enamel Shape into the center of each of the stickers.
  • Lastly, I stamped the greeting onto Watercolor Paper then die cut using the smallest circle from the Stitched Shapes. I placed Linen Thread under the greeting.

OnStage Display Wrap Up!

OnStage Display Stamping, Stampin' Up!

OnStage Display Wrap Up!

Today I’m sharing the last of the OnStage Displays that I created.  If you have missed them, I hope you will take a minute and scroll through my blog to visit.  Today is the OnStage Display wrap up.

I’ve been a display stamper for many years and I’ve always enjoyed the challenge.  I remember the first time I was sent a new box of products to create with almost 9 years ago.  I always get the jitters on how I’m going to create so many displays with only a few products.  Once I feel the pressure of creating, the challenge is on.

It’s Literally a Wrap!

My projects I’m sharing today literally speak to wrapping it up! This year I didn’t do as many 3D projects as I have in the past.  That part of my mojo department was not clicking I guess.

One project I loved was this sweet little cone.

OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!

I’ve always loved making these cones because they are super simple and easy to fill with the tasty treat you desire.  I created the cone by simply using a 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper folded into a cone.  I always take the top and fold it over and then add a pretty topper.

When I created the topper for this cone I fell in love with the color combination just as much as the actual products.  The Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Bunch, and Bermuda Bay scream spring/summer.  This combination is so fresh and fun and I can see using it on so many other projects.  My favorite product on this cone is the Lemon Lime Twist ribbon.  Isn’t that a beautiful pop of color?

If you are looking to create favors and need something quick and easy, this cone is one I always fall back on.  They are quickly duplicatable and always have a wow appeal.

Tip: To keep the cone sealed I used the Tear Tape Adhesive.  This adhesive is great for keeping boxes and favors sealed.

Quick and Easy Pocket Bag

My last project is another quick and easy favor and can be used to hold a gift card or a candy bar.

OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!

To create this fun bag, I simply cut down both the edges of the bag and folded the top portion over and attached it using Fast Fuse.  I placed a piece of the Bundle of Love Specialty Designer Series Paper on the inside and embellished the front.

I reverted back to a few of my favorite thinlits, Sunshine Wishes and the Stitched Shapes Framelits along with the Label Me Pretty stamp set.

Tips & Tricks

OnStage Displays, Stampin' Up!

  • Once I die cut the heart from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits using Watercolor Paper, I watercolored over the heart using Berry Bunch.
  • I die cut a piece of the Bundle of Love DSP using the Stitched Shapes Framelits then attached it to a Delicate White Doily.  I folded the doily over so only 3/4 of the doily was seen on the outside of the pocket.  The Hearts and Stars Elements coordinated perfectly with the other hearts.  Notice that I attached the wooden heart using a stapler.
  • The greeting was stamped using Fresh Fig ink onto Fresh Fig cardstock and punched out using the Sweetheart Punch.  This punch is on sale and retiring.  Click HERE to order this punch before it’s gone.
  • Lastly, I used a sponge dauber to sponge over the tiny wooden heart.  After I finished sponging the heart I placed the tiny heart next to the greeting using a Mini Glue Dot.

A HUGE Thank You!

I want to say a big thank you for taking the time to read and comment on these projects.  Time is precious, and I appreciate you taking the time.  I hope that you have been inspired to create not only from my blog but the amazing Artisans that have shared over the last ten days.

I have many more projects to share now that I’m steadily back in my stamp room.  Plus I have a gazillion ideas in my head that I’m ready to see come to life.  So stick with me, there is much more to come.

If you have followed over the last ten days, which project was your favorite? What product are you most excited about?
