Home Sweet Home

While coming home to your own bed is a wonderful thing, I have to admit that I didn’t want to leave Salt Lake City and the awesome Convention!  It was unbelievable!  I am not quite sure where to begin with all the excitement!  First, I did survive my presentation.  Thank you to ALL of you for the many prayers!  I am so grateful for the many friends that gave me encouragement.

This year I was awarded the #2 Demonstrator of the Year!!  I just can’t believe it.  Awards night was such a blur that I look back and wonder how I made it up the stairs??  I know my sweet husband helped me get there.  LOL!  After that amazing award, it got even better.  I was honored with a position on the Advisory Board.  I still can’t believe it and felt like I needed to be pinched a dozen times.  I could hear my friends and downline screaming and cheering and my cheeks hurt from all the smiling.  It was awesome.  I am so thankful for my AWESOME customers and downline for their constant support and encouragement.  These acheivements were not made without them!

Another great surprise was seeing one of my downline earn Rising Star.  She was number 9!  I was so excited for her and this big accomplishment.  She worked hard and deserved it!

Each day of convention was great and full of surprises.  I will share a few tidbits of my fun over the week!  I wanted to share the rest of the chipboard album I made last week.  This album was made for my sweet Service Account Manager (SAM) at Stampin’ Up!  She is someone that lifts me up and helps me with my business in so many ways.  I am grateful to have her!  Here is the cover of the book again….

Because it’s late I’m not going to list all the products that I used.  It was a fun book to make and I loved giving it to Maxine.  Now, let me show you what a DIVA Maxine is.  We met for dinner the first night I was there.  Check out these hot shoes and Sassy pants!

I want to say a HUGE thank you to the many demonstrators that I spoke with at convention.  I enjoyed meeting so many new friends!

There are so many exciting things coming up with Stampin’ Up! I can’t wait to share it all with you.   I’m off to my bed!  Check back tomorrow for more convention pics and a fun card I made for friends at convention!

It’s Here! It’s Here!

Hello stamping friends!  Well, the LONG awaited video is here.  You should get a real kick out of this one.  The hardest part about making videos is not laughing through the whole thing.  After 5 takes, we did it.  My sweet friend Christy helped me with the video and if you knew her she is quite the crack up too.  So the two of us together makes a really fun filming team.

The video is simple, nothing fancy!  It just shows you how I apply the stencil paste and then all the projects I have made with it.  Here is the picture of the project I am working on in the video.  It’s a special gift for convention.  I will post more details after convention once it’s complete.  This is just the front cover.

Start Now!

Start making those beautiful handmade gifts for the Holidays!  We all know once the Holidays hit things get so crazy we don’t know if we are coming or going! Right?  My hope is to inspire you NOW with creative projects that will be of great help during your holiday gift planning.  One gift that is truly NO Fail are the Tiles.  You cannot screw up these gifts! Promise.  In fact, my 6 year old can do these with her eyes closed.  They are also inexpensive!  Check out this fun tile I made this week:

I started this project with a 6×6 tile from Lowes.  They are usually around 88 cents a tile.  Here are the following products I used:

Glassy Glaze Page 188 (100477) 4.75 (approx 12 tiles per jar)

Vintage Ornaments 1 Stencils (117580) 14.95 (4 stencils per package)

Chocolate Chip 1 1/4 Striped Grosgrain Ribbon (115617) 8.95 (butt load of ribbon)

Jumbo Brads Pewter (108432) 9.95 (60 per package)

Pretties Kit (109114) 29.95 (Lots and Lots of pretties in there!)

Chocolate Chip CRAFT ink (101816) 7.50

Sponge Daubers

Stencil Paste

Christmas Greetings (115448)

Adding Stencil Paste:

Once your tile is COMPLETELY cool, you will add the swirly stencil over the glazed ornament on your tile.  I use STENCIL EASE found at Hobby Lobby.  It’s a BIG tub for 8.99.  It’s like Cake Icing.  This will bring the cake decorator out in you.    Place the stencil onto the ornament and put the Stencil Paste onto the tile.  Let this dry anywhere from 1-2 hours.  Time varies.  Once this is dry, take another sponge dauber and lightly go over the dried stencil paste with a classic ink.   It’s so beautiful once they are complete.  Again, these are fast, easy and affordable.  If you need the supplies, just go to my Online Store by clicking on the right and punch in the numbers above for your convience.

I’m also in the process of making a video of the stencil paste.  Very LONG overdue.  Don’t get too excited. My videos are nothing like the fancy ones you see else where.  LOL!  However, the goal is to show you how fun and easy the product is to use with our AMAZING stencils.

Time for me to talk to my fake audience again.  I have 50 Stuffed Animals lined up ready to hear my convention speech.  They don’t talk back and just stare crazy at me.  Quite entertaining on my part.

Have a fab day!

The Medallion and the Scrapbook Page!

Hello stampers!  Tonight I held one of my  long time favorite classes.  "It’s ALL about Me!"  It’s a scrapbook class I have been doing for years and it started a long time ago in one of my favorite Scrapbook Stores in Jacksonville Florida!  We would get together once a month and scrapbook all about US!  It was also a great time to get together and learn about each other and the class formed many, many friendships.  I miss those great friends!  I’ve been scrapbooking since 1996!  In the beginning it was all about me and my husband.  Then the kids came along and it was scrapbooking all about them.  22 books later and looking through those books there were not many pictures of ME!  I was the one behind the camera, always.  I also had a friend battling cancer and she had children.  She wanted to leave her LEGACY behind so she started a scrapbook about herself.  What a brilliant idea.  So, "It’s ALL about Me!" started.  I want my children to always know the little bits and pieces of my crazy self.  Deep feelings of WHO I am, my beliefs and things I love are things I want them to remember.  After many years of doing scrapbook pages like these it’s fun even for me to go back and look at the layouts.  Some of them are hilarious as I look back at the MANY hairstyles I’ve had.  I am sure you can relate.

We gathered tonight to start another round of "It’s All about Me!"  I wanted to share my fun scrapbook page with you.  I couldn’t help but use my favorite stamp set and I added other fun new toys I think you will enjoy!

I haven’t journaled on this page yet, but the pictures tell my story here.  My favorite things are Starbucks and the Beach.  I only wish I was drinking a Starbucks on the beach right now!  This page uses ALL new toys!  The beautiful Lattice you see on both sides of the layouts are from the new die cut called Lattice (115958 21.95).  This is a Stampin’ Up! exclusive and what a beautiful die this is!  The way I used it on the page almost gives it a faux embossed look.  YUMMY!  At the top of the layout I used the Melon Mambo ink and stamped the Medallion.  The center was stamped using Melon Mambo ink and the Favorite Things stamp set (115436 23.95).  Super fun stamp set and great for scrapbookers!  For the title I used another new Big Shot die cut called Simple Letters (115960 89.95).  This is yet another FABULOUS Stampin’ Up! exclusive and I just love this font.  Because these alphabet are BIGZ dies you can cut up to 50 different materials with this die.  Think felt, fabric and chipboard.  So yummy!  Another fun product I used was the Modern Label punch that fits one of the stamp sets PERFECTLY from the Favorite Things stamp set.

I hope this inspires you to pull out your scrapbooking supplies and start your own "It’s ALL about Me!" album!  Leave your own Legacy behind.

I have one more thing to share tonight.  Seriously, don’t laugh at my Martha Sewing skills…  Yesterday both kids had to have a tooth pulled.  It was a DOUBLE tooth fairy night!   I almost had a panic attack because we only had ONE tooth fairy pillow.  Oh what to do??  My genius 6yr old daughter thought mommy should make her one.  In her eyes I am Martha and quite frankly I don’t want to change that yet.  <sigh>  So, I had some fabric laying around and I pulled out my hardly used sewing machine and got to work.  This gorgeous tooth fairy pillow was stuffed with yarn (no stuffing around the house) and worked like a CHARM!  Alexis was so excited she walked around with it all day.  These are the little things that just make a mommy happy!

One last note… Today I have been married to my PRINCE 13 years.  I still get the silly butterflies with him.  He is a GREAT guy and puts up with all my antics. Unfortunetly my sweets lost his only Uncle on July 4th to a sudden massive heart attack.  He is flying out today to be with his family in Iowa and then I will fly out on Tuesday to meet him and be there for the funeral.  It’s so sad to see our loved ones go.  We will miss this great man!!

I hope you have a super weekend and stamp something pretty!

The day wouldn’t be complete without a little creative inspiration as well!  One thing I love in the new catalog this year are a few organizational items that are just too fun.  These new Gusseted Envelopes are so awesome. Honestly, they would be fine by themselves without anything added to them.  When I opened my new box of toys, one of the fun new products I received was the *NEW* Stampin’ Up! exclusive Sizzix Alphabet Simple Letters.  (#115960)  The name of the Alphabet says it all. Simple!  Perfect for scrapbook pages, cards and the new Gusseted Envelopes! Check out what I did!

The Medallion Stamp on page 133 is by far one of my new fav stamps.  For this card I stamped the Medallion onto the Naturals Ivory cardstock and then stamped again on another piece of Naturals Ivory cardstock and cut the image out.  A little tedious, but I did like the end result.  The Medallion is stamped in the Crushed Curry ink.  You will notice that I die cut one of the Lots of Tags sizzlits using Crushed Curry cardstock and also ran it through the new Final Press Embossing Folder.  The wow factor with that Embossing Folder is awesome!

If you stuck through this long Monday Morning post I applaud you!  I truly have so much to share I could sit at this computer all day!  However Sexy, Hot UPS guy will be here soon with more toys and I must get busy and ready to play! Have an awesome week and more to share tomorrow using the Medallion stamp!
