Fun Envelope Project

I have a fun project for you today. It's an envelope card.  Super simple and I bet you have a few envelopes either on hand or you could make one using your Simply Scored Tool.

This particular envelope came from a file on my e-cutter.  It was more of an experiement than anything.  I had some Textured Crumb Cake that I stashed away and pull out for "special" projects and thought this project would be perfect.

Once the actual envelope was created the decorating part was a piece of cake.  At first glance you might think this project is difficult.  Not at all. The great thing about being shabby is it has that messy look.  I like to call this weathered…. Any way you put it, I like it.

Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' Up!

I started by adding layers of Designer Series Paper, lace, then more DSP.  You can see I have a few layers of Washi Tape too. I like the image stamped on the Label Framelit as it really pops up.

The doily was sponged, then sponged more and then lightly coated with a shimmer mist.  The entire front is shimmered with two different types.  I love my shimmer paints and mists.  The last piece was the Bakers Twine on the arrow clip. I love these clips as they add so much character to a card.

Remember, not all buttons have to be threaded.  A naked button is totally okay.  You can see my "ink splatters" on the base of the card. I used Whisper White ink and my Splatter image from the March Paper Pumpkin.  I love this image.   It sits on my desk for easy access.   Kimberly Van Diepen, STampin' Up!

Overall, this project would be perfect to stuff a gift card inside the envelope with a sweet message or I think I could even stuff a few chocolates in it.  Hmm!

Easter Bunny and Gift Card

Happy Friday!  The kids Spring Break is ZOOMING by and Easter has crept up on me so fast that I had a little panic last night.  Of course I'm NOT prepared at all and this should surprise NO one.  I'll be the lady zipping through all the isles quickly to find last minute Easter things to fill my kids baskets.  Happens every year.

Since the kids are getting older and I would love to keep the baskets with LESS candy in them I decided I would make them each a little bunny card with an iTunes Card inside for them.

Stop My Madness!

Kimberly Van Diepen Stampin Up! Demo

It's an illness sometimes when you are stamping and you just cannot STOP adding materials to the project.  This card tells the whole story.

I couldn't stop.  First, Stampin' Up! has such great products and when I lay it all out in front of me I can't help but grab pieces and put it together.

Kimberly Van Diepen, Stampin Up!

I started this card with a quick Gesso wash over the Natural Composition DSP. It's a  very light wash. Just enough to make the notes POP and give it the vintage feel I was looking for.

I embossed the fun swirly stamp from Great Sport by stamping in Basic Black craft ink and then adding Clear Embossing Powder.  Love that swirly image!  Just think, it's a sport set!  Sometimes we have to think OUTSIDE the sandbox.

The rest was just a little layering.  Added the Tea Doily (just a half) and then two strips of the World Spectacular DSP.

Do you have a few toothpicks hanging around? That's how I made my Pennant.  Pennants are AWESOME and still very popular for any project.

I added a squished bottle cap (oh wait… we call them soda pop tops!)  Use a 1" circle of your favorite DSP inside the cap and it's beautiful!

That little bitty banner with the Thanks on it comes from my all time favorite stamp set tiny tags.

It may be over the top with lots of fun products but the bottom line is I had FUN creating it.

Product  Supplies Used:

Simple with Pop Up Posies

Kimberly Van Diepen stampin up _MG_1549

Are you loving the Sale-a-Bration products this year? Stampin' Up! has provided us with beautiful products during this amazing promotion and this year and the best part is coordinating them with our other amazing products in the Mini Catalog.  Take this card for instance. I've paired the Pop Up Posies Kit with the Bloomin' Marvelous stamp set.  This set has such delicate greetings and they are beautiful embossed.  I used Basic Black Craft ink with a clear embossing powder on the greeting and butterflies.

I created a small flower using the cupcake holders in the Pop Up Posie Kit by crinkling the cupcake holders in my hands then using a hot glue gun to secure 3 of them together.  Before adhering the third cupcake holder on I pierced a Polka Dot Pool Party brad into the center and then attached it to the other two flowers. The Crumb Cake dry embossed Label is another piece thats in the Pop Up Posie Kit.

As you can see you can create this elegant card with ease using the Pop Up Posie Kit.

Watch the video below to see how I created a skirt for a dress form using the cupcake holders.

Tis the season for Gift Cards!  I don't know of many people that don't love a gift card.  Sometimes I feel like I'm taking the easy way out by getting someone a gift card but then again, I KNOW they will enjoy it.  Know what I mean? It just seems more practical.  This is where the paper crafter comes in handy.  We can make a Gift Card 100% BETTER with just a little paper, ink and stamps!

Today's project is just that! A pretty little gift card holder.  I decided to make a non holiday one because I am ALWAYS in need of one.  This Gift Card holder is easy and only takes one piece of 8 x 8 cardstock.  Grab your cardstock and a bone folder and create with me.

Supplies Used:

Stamps: Creative Elements

Ink: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse

Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Soft Suede, Very Vanila, Summer Starfruit (inside)
